the developer support on that shit will be as terrible as the 3DS and Wii U were and to answer your question no, we just use their ARM compilers given from the SDK, with 3DS and Wii U they include compilers and simple tools for things like bcwav, bcmdl and simple shit to get stuff going, they make you figure shit out on your own mainly and the licensing and costs for all that shit is over $5,000 dollars and the NDA is HELL

Whenever I try to install any Nvidia driver for my GTX 1070 on Linux Mint with Cinnamon, it can't open the file using "the Western (ISO08859-15) character encoding. I don't know what this means. Whenever I try to change the "character encoding" to the only other option, (Current Locale UTF-8) it doesn't work either. No download I have seen has worked to fix this. Please help. On my laptop, every Linux distro I've tried "just werks" but on my desktop, everything is a pain in the ass like this.

Mint is a bastardization of Ubuntu and often has problems like you're facing. I was using Mint up to 17.1 and had a similar issue. My 980ti wasn't giving me full native resolution. (1440p).
I went to standard Ubunutu 16.04 (MATE Desktop Environment) and everything just werked. Have you tried a different version of Linux. In all honesty it might just be a driver issue and won't be fixed for some time.

These things were built fucking invincible, still get days of constant playback before mine dies off, 5th gen nano with the video camera.

What's the best, low cost, basic e-reader?
Looking for something with an e-ink screen, good battery life and a decent amount of storage so I don't have to constantly take stuff off to put new stuff on.
Don't care about, wifi connectivity, backlight, touch screen, or capabilities other than viewing pdf's and other ebook file formats.

yup. My fav ereader is still the prs-505. They dont make ereaders feel as nice to hold anymore since everything has gotten so cheap.(the screens are much better, but its all in spongy plastic, and most dont have physical buttons to change the page)
Find a kindle 3(keyboard). It was the first 'cheap' ereader, and its build quality is better than anything put out today, other than the really high-end ones(like aura HD, or whatever kindle calls their fancy one now)
