What are some must-have apps for WIndows Phone, and what's the best music app?

And phones aren't normally intended to serve files. Similarly, iOS and Android don't include this functionality out of the box.

To make matters worse for Windows Phone when it comes to adding this functionality through third party apps, Windows Phone 8 doesn't allow apps to run in the background, instead either closing them completely or putting them in a suspended state.
Windows Phone 10 doesn't have this problem, but following the fiasco that was WP7 and 8, no one wants anything to do with that either.
