I don't want to bore you guys will the full details. I could if you ask but I'll get to the point.

I installed an SSD into my PC and it doesn't show up under My PC, Device Manager or Disk Management. It doesn't even show up in the BIOS.

But Linux has no trouble seeing it. I even "formatted" it with GParted. What should my next step(s) be?

Windows can only detect FAT and NTFS partitions.
>>
>>57254402
But doesn't Windows automatically detect the drive, even if it isn't formatted? It should see it and ask me to format it, right?
>>
see if the SSD shows under Disk manger

use search - type run - in run type MMC and press enter. in MMC click file then click add/ remove snap-in's-select the Disk management - click okay

in disk managment you will see all your drives
find the blank one and format it useing
NTFS with the check box for quick format turned off.

after that you can use the SSD
be warned however that only a basic partition can be used to install a OS on.

Hey /g/. I found this thing while at work (big furniture store), in our basement where we basically throw shit to collect dust for a couple years before it's thrown away. Can anybody tell me what it is? I doubt it's VR/AR, but who knows? I wanna know if it's worth snatchin' up.

There's high chance you're logged into an account that only you can access, or from an IP only you used before. Before you do anything, think of all the ways your actions could be tracked back to you. You'll probably think up a few.

Why use Arch when you can use Debian unstable netinst? You get a light, working system with binaries available for every package you can think of. Are there any reasons to use Arch over Debian?

Exactly. I don't know anyone who uses Arch. People would rather actually use their computer for things instead of just maintaining their OS
>>
>>57254052
What you are comparing Arch to should be ubuntu-mini.

If you are comparing with Ubuntu, replace Arch with Antergos or chakra

Other than the actual bulk, is there any reason not to use a CRT compared to an LCD monitor?

Will it be good for gaming? 1600x1200@75hz 19 inch?
9 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
They tend to use 15x more electricity to get the same job done, by the way. Just turning on a CRT can use 30x more power to get it working than an LCD-based monitor would use in the first 15 minutes of full operation.

If you're wealthy you could care less but some folks actually don't want to waste money on high electric/power bills.
>>
It's fine, until you notice the natural curvature of the monitor and so forth. I had a really curvy CRT and I had to get rid of it because it was making me sick. Just be aware that you should probably not mess with the geometry settings unless you are willing to acknowledge that you may not ever get them back to what they were before.
>>
>>57254034
I couldn't care less about electricity. I doubt it'll make a significant difference since I'll only be using it for a couple of hours a few times a week.

>>57254036
The glass is curved, but is that going to be a serious issue?

Future Js pro here.

This was pretty easy but I can't even get repl.it to run for a max number as low as 1000
for (var num = 2, abundant = []; num < 1000; num++){
for (var i = 1, properDivisors = []; i < num; i++){
if (String(num / i).indexOf(".") > -1){properDivisors.push(i)}
}
if (properDivisors.reduce(function(a,b){return a + b}) > num){
abundant.push(num);
}
}

After that I'd do a single nested loop to run through abundant to find any number that's off limits and I'd post every number but that.
>>
>>57253965
