Why have you not joined the 8K master race, /g/?
Proprietary shit from hardware to software. Not even a freefag but RED is shit. Arri is best, and even Sony is better.
>>57659969
what is it?
>>57659989
I wouldn't dismiss RED as shit, but simply another paint brush that maybe you don't like.
I'm not sure what stance you're taking but art takes some level of emotion, compassion and understanding reflected towards a prism in a sense of absolution which doesn't appeal to a sense of rationality, as life imitates art. Please be kind to the tools that are given to us in this world, be the change you want to see because we're far from perfect yet perfect at the same time using what we can to get a message across. Be blessed.
Need to make $20,000 by March 17 to buy Nintendo Switch.
I only know HTML, CSS, and I posses only rudimentary knowledge of Javascript and PHP.
Is this possible?
>>57659939
I'm pretty sure the Nintendo Switch isn't going to be $20,000.
That is unless you are planning to buy at scalper prices.
>>57659968
>not buying 100 Nintendo Switches and selling them to make a profit
heh
>>57659968
Yeah, I just want to make a lot of money...
I've gotten myself to the point where html and css are pretty much second nature to me. I can recreate I sites I visit pretty accurately. I have my own website hosted on a hosting plan and my own dot com domain.
>social media doesn't give a shit about you as a person, they are just making money off of your marketing data to better suit people's needs on websites like eBay, Amazon and other dumb online stores
>unless you're torrenting EVERY DAY EVERY HOUR and seeding constantly, you're not going to get caught and that little letter doesn't mean shit
>google doesn't care about you as a person see 1
>linux is ok but not amazing
>There's nothing wrong with owning "proprietary software." Just cause it says "no touch" doesn't mean you wont. See cracked programs
>"Open Source is dumb and almost always never gets attention cause no one cares
Nice blog you fat prick
>>57659942
>fat
No. I'm not fat. I'm pretty skinny
>prick
Why am I a prick?
>blog

What's your recommended cheap router for home and light home server usage?
Looking for a cheap (50$, 60$ max) router to get on black Friday .
Europoor so american deals don't apply to me, currently looking at:
https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Wireless-Gigabit-Router-TL-WR1043ND/dp/B002YLAUU8
Also routers general!
Some SFF box with 2 Intel NICs with pfsense on it.
Everything else is a joke.

For example I'm using XFCE and Kwin and when typing or right clicking instead of the cursor theme I get an X broken cursor icon
Why is my cursor broken in certain places?
why is it all arch users want to do is rice their desktop?
>"anyone good with arch"
>asks a question unrelated to arch
I fixed it with xsetroot -cursor_name left_ptr

So I'm pretty sure that I've purchased a stolen laptop from ebay.
After waiting for some time for delivery, the laptop arrived today and it was a used laptop. Files were left just as they were from about eight years ago, and there is no question about who owned the laptop all those years ago--the dude left a resume in the documents folder with a phone number that still works--I even found him on Facebook.
The laptop isn't for me exactly. I bought it as a toy for an aging family member. But what exactly should I do? I planned to completely wipe the drive but with all these family photos and such on the disk and the fact that the return address doesn't match the name on the laptop, should I call the number in the resume and see if the laptop really is stolen? Or do I just forget about it?
Tyrone...
Do it, then if it is stolen, get the money back from ebay. While you do that, post the story play-by-play here
>>57659701
Tyrone only makes a thread if he encounters a money problem, not a question about morality
What OSs do you run, /g/?
>>57659655
Trying out OSes is one of my hobbies. I have a Debian w/ Xfce, and a Debian w/ wmii in VirtualBox. Thought about trying to install Arch.
Currently trying to install Source Mage in a VM

As in no phones over $100, and thats only if its really worth it. The price range should be closer to $50-$80.
The Alcatel POP 4 Plus 4G LTE (16gb) is 50 bux I might get it since its basically my moto e 2nd gen but with a removable battery and twice the internal memory.
I'm hesitant though, there probably will be more shit out on cyber monday right?
Just get an iPhone lmao

what's the best ultrawide monitor on the market?
bump
>>57659490
>ultrawide
>best
What did he mean by this?
Hard to say anon, I really feel like the first prices in the 29+ category are the only ones worth. It's hella risky to go full ultra wide yet, you're almost certain to have always black borders in full screen. They're already good IPS panels and it's not worth putting more money in.
What /g/ thinks of protonmail?
https://protonmail.com/
>>57659280
It's shit for retards.
>>57659355
But why? Secure, end to end encryption, open source, located in Swiss, can it be more secure than this?
Israeli
He doesn't have GitMeme or anything to check?
>>57659260
Your mum.
>>57659260
He hasn't really programmed for a long time. He got RSI, took a break, and started devoting himself to being a full-time freetard.
Of course not, retard, homeless pedophiles can't program.
Harddrive lifespan
Is it ok to start and stop a NAS harddrive several times a day?
I want to put on in my desktop, but I dont like leaving my desktop on all night so I shut it down. Right now I have a stoarage drive that spins down and only turns on when I try to open files on it,
Since most NAS systems are designed for being powered on 24/7, Im worried that constant spindown kills the nas drive.
>>57659185
>Is it ok to start and stop a NAS harddrive several times a day?
probably, according to the data sheet WD Reds are rated for 600k load/unload cycles
>>57659242
Ok thanks makes sense.
Is 1M hour mtfb good or garbage?
>>57659242
>>57659754
>tfw I have that 3TB Red
K-keep us posted.
Hey /g/, I just recently started to upgrade all of my parts from my seven year old computer, the only thing not replaced was my HDD
So, upon startup, Windows 7 loads halfway into the logo, flashes a bluescreen then crashes and resets.
Looking it up, the general consensus was to change the SATA Configuration from [ACHI] to IDE for old HDDs
But the BIOS won't give me the option for IDE, and the alternate setting RAID does nothing.
Is there an alternate way to change it to IDE, or is there abother way to fix the issue entirely?
