A quality book is worth dozens of GNU Info pages.

I'm pretty sure there are way better books on each of those subjects, and I think buying ebooks is not very smart.
If it would be a physical copy then it would be fine though.
What is the best VPN for someone inside the UK? The snoopers charter has been drafted into law this week, establishing a legal framework for what was already done in a more clandestine manner. I do not plan to use a VPN for anything illegal but the paranoia in me wants my data safe from a casual law enforcement check.
I was thinking perhaps ipredator but if I recall they are set up in sweden so would be subject to european diplomatic agreements. I was also considering one based in russia but I can't find any?
Thanks.
VPNs will be made illegal soon, so I would just leave the country.

I'm a fully grown man but I've never had a smart phone. I don't really want to waste much money on one. What do you guys think of this deal? Also from Hong Kong how much bloat is there likely to be on this thing?

I picked up (free) netbook (EEE PC) and just did a reset back to factory, and cleaned out the bloat. This thing is really running well, and I don't want to cram it full of useless MS updates (and telemetry), so I just have it turned off.
My question is should I update at all? If so what is the minimum I can get away with to secure it? Is SP1 and the roll up worth it?
Privacy and speed is the chief concern (tin foil hat wearer).
If you really want power out of it, you'd put in either Ubuntu minimal or arch. Windows 7 barely ran on netbooks fresh out if the box much less after you installed anything worth having.
If you're just gonna use this as a meme posting machine, might as well put in lightweight distros
>>57651251
I've already got a dedicated Arch machine. This is a burner machine for browsing - theres not much driver compatibility with most distros anyway.
It runs Win7 Starter, so its really lightweight as is. I just want to secure it a bit, and wonder if updates are in any way worthwhile.
What are tablets actually good for?
mostly the same things as your phone except at a bit larger size, which mostly matters for reading text
tl;dr manga, books
i use my tablet to browse sadpanda and fap to trap doujins under the blankets.
It's really comfy desu.

Seriously, what an idiot, he should know by now you have to setup a second account totally not connected to the first and list the same item for $5 less.
That's how you get 'em. Give em two choices, of course they'll pick the cheaper one, but either way you fuck em.

I have the Kobo Glo HD. It's pretty good and it's worth it for me.
Now this one, if I were rich I would buy it, but I don't see how can I justify paying almost double for it.

Exactly.

Then you can buy some cheapo chinese ereader with a crappy 4 inch 400x300 screen if you want to be a cheapass.
Need some input, this is my 3rd RMA with this fucking pos. I want to dump it once I get it back and never buy MSI again.
Anyway long story short, the laptop stopped accepting power from the PS but everything else works fine and was running normal till the battery finally ran out of juice.
Sent it into MSI for RMA and got word back the MB needs replaced. (of fucking course it does) spent 2 days trying to get a legitimate answer as to why the old one cant be fixed and why it needs a new one. Best answer "there were burns and it smelled strongly of burn". So I said wtf ever go through the $330 RMA, BUT I want MY broken MB returned to me with the fixed laptop. I was told they would not return MY broken MB.
Is it fucking normal for these cunts or even any high end gaming laptop manufacturer to not give you a straight answer why and deny returning your own property? If the MB is beyond repair what would they want it for? My assumption would be to fix it and give it to the next joe blow.
>>57650914
>Is it fucking normal for these cunts or even any high end gaming laptop manufacturer to not give you a straight answer why and deny returning your own property? If the MB is beyond repair what would they want it for? My
Its called a core, and because they will send it off to someone to be repaired and put back in another laptop which has been RMA'd. Similar things are done with auto parts? Want a new alternator from AutoZone (or wherever) you put down a core charge and get it back when you give them your bad alternator.
>>57651415
Idk what car shop youve dealt with, but every thing at our cadillac is taken to the scrap yard. There is no "core" unless youre thinking of batteries which are taken and torn down and melted to be reused.
>>57651661
>car shop
all major auto parts stores do this http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/o/corecharge
even manufacturers including GM which includes cadilac

4x the resolution of 1920x1080
Where as 2K is 2x the resolution of 1280x720, but also named Quad HD
HD being 720p
Full HD being 1080p
Quad HD being 1440p
Ultra HD being 2160p
>Quad = 4x
>1440 / 4 = 360
>360p is HD
????
>>57650414
Quad HD is 4 times the total number of pixels in 720p.
