Hey /g/entooman.
Any recommendations on best kodi setup currently? Stable or dev branch? Kodibuntu, OpenELEC, arch based? I haven't set up a kodi box in ages.
I only use kodi for PseudoTV Live. But then again, I'm a horrible person.

Pic related is my new 30 dollar smartwatch. Got it from some bootleg Chinese website. Battery lasts almost all day, it can call, text, store data, view data, and even take pictures. The memory card and SIM card don't come with the watch.
I've got an Apple Watch. It cost $750. Nice thing about it is that it actually impresses people unlike cheap alternatives. Sapphire glass is just nicer
>>57652672
got one for my gf last year for 50 dollar. its the biggest piece of trash you've ever owned and you know it. its a fucking nightmare to do anything on it, be it swiping through your potato pictures or trying to write a text, the touch is just plain horrible.

>no SIM included
no shit
good luck, you can probably impress your 6-year old nephew with it. that's where the usecase ends.
>>57652905
That sucks anon. The touch on here is actually really nice. What I don't understand is why anyone would waste money on one of those extremely expensive fancy watches. Sure they are a status symbol, but they are extremely impractical.
Why aren't you using Vivaldi yet? Version 1.5 fixed literally everything. It now even has tab dragging to create new windows, one of the few missing features that other mainstream browsers had and Vivaldi didn't yet.
So why are you still using certified Google botnet, or a browser that doesn't cater to you like Firefox? Just try Vivaldi already, you fat cunt, it's actually pretty good now.
It's literally chromium with bloat on it. Fuck that shit.
>>57652643
But OP, I already do.
>>57652704
Except it's much more customizable on all ends, while still being as fast as Chromium, and actually catering to power users and not normie retards. And it's open-source. It's /g/'s dream browser.
What are you working on /g/?
First for me
Do you guys like dynamic programming?

>>57652632
It's really inconclusive.
I subscribe to the idea that, as long as we don't find the end of pi/run out of memory in some way, we can't be in a simulation.

first for fedora 25
Fellas, I'm seriously considering buying a laptop (used/refurbished T430s is in my sights for the moment) and installing my first Linux distro. Feel like I've been too scared to switch, but the time has come
Which disto is best for an absolute beginner to Linux with more computer knowledge than your average normie, but still pretty shit (can't code, etc)
I've narrowed to down to Ubuntu, Mint, or Solus. (Gentoo seems too difficult). I swear on my life I'm not Kevin, but the only reason solus is on here (and I'm unironically leaning towards it) is because everything I've seen about it seems like it's the most user friendly. Am I wrong here? Also the budgie desktop looks really really nice. Can I get budgie on ubuntu or mint if you recommend that?
Basically whatever I go with, I would need to to run:
>Firefox
>Microsoft office (I'm a heavy excel user...is libre any good especially for advanced exce users)
>foobar
>ace player
>mpc would be nice but not important
Any help and advices would be greatly appreciated
>>57652362
Fedora 24 fucked my broadcom and thereupon it was not working. So I lost my faith in that distro.
>>57652417
Linux Lite
>>57652417
Use Excel online. However I use excel to a notable degree as well and I found Libreoffice calc is more comfortable. There is also WPS office
>foobar
Get spotify
>Ace player
What's that for? Use VLC or SMPlayer
Wanted to know what the folks here at /g thought about the Brave browser. I've been using it for a while off and on but today I'm starting to use it as my daily.
The main reason, they updated it today, I think- been at work past two days. And they finally added the F6 shortcut to get to the address bar. I know it sounds simple but it was a deal-breaker for me after having used it for so long.
But what do you guys think about it if you have used it before?

But that's actually a motor siren and not a pneumatic one.
My welfare program has given me an IT job in a school so I could acquire work skills to get integrated back into society.
Turns out the guy in charge of the computers is a total scrub who keeps reinstalling windows XP on every computer to fix problems. Hes also like 60 years old.
Is "my employer is an idiot" a valid reason for complaint? Because the whole schools seems to be in chaos because of this. Should I quit or help them out?
Right, some advice from someone in a similar position, currently waiting for a work placement so I can get off the dole.
Ignore it. Smile and nod. Do everything you fucking can to keep that job, you lucky little shit. I'd be thinking the same thing, honestly, but seriously dude your desire to stay in work should override it. (If you're happy being on welfare that's up to you.)
Pick your battles. This one isn't worth it.

sounds like a fucking boss
>>57651530
>Is "my employer is an idiot" a valid reason for complaint?
no you're the idiot actually, it's actually the smart move to install XP or windows 2000 on computers which have performance problems or get viruses. There are many tools which you can use to patch programs so that they will run on older versions of windows. For one, windows xp and 2000 will not lag on most computers and you're actually going to get a performance increase similar to if you installed a lightweight linux distribution. Also, because they are so old, there are virtually no viruses on the internet which can still affect operating systems this old.

That theme made my bell end tingle with nostalgia.
Hey there!
My mother recently bought a pair of shoes on the internet.
The website looks shady af, but I only saw it after she had already paid.
Today she got the shoes and they're totally different from the ones she ordered (way cheaper too).
Now, I was wondering, is there anything I can do to get my "revenge" against the scammers?
The website registrant and admin is a French guy but there's no trace of him online, I suppose it's just a front man.
I googled their email address and I found out it's related to some other ecommerce frauds.
I have some basic knowledge and I was thinking about a sql injection on their website but I don't know how to do it.
I'm afraid a complaint to my bank won't be enough to get my money back.
fuck off, nigger.
