In school, I have a "Philosophy" class (frenchfag I am), and today our teacher couldn't log in to something on his PC in class, so he engaged in a huge shitrant on computers and technology in general. Me and guys in my class tried to confront/reason him about it, which then only amplified his rage. After about 5 minutes of shit throwing, he dismissed the class, but left us with one dissertation to do over the weekend, and it will be half our entire grade for this semester: "Why machines ?" ("Pourquoi les machines ?")
I'm not really looking for help (though any is welcome), just wondering what /g/ would answer to such a meme question.

So my parents asked me what I want for Christmas (Which is weird because I am a grown adult that makes my own money...?) but I have been wanting to make a mini Gaming Desktop build for simplicity whenever I am on vacations with business and such or to hook up to a bigger TV.
This is the case I want to work with, Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Cube Gaming Computer Case. What would be the essentials to put in it?
(Usually play Overwatch, stream videos/movies, play music.)

Well you need:
power supply
motherboard
processor
memory
hard drive or SSD
video card
Nice optional extras:
SSD for OS HDD for "stuff"
DVD drive if you want to watch or rip movies, maybe even blueray (don't know if your case supports 5.25" shit though.
Wireless card if you go somewhere and don't have a cable/plug in somewhere. Look for an A/B/G/N/AC capable one.
Aftermarket CPU cooler if you're planning on anything strenuous for the PC (gaming counts as strenuous)
A few fans in the supported sizes and connectors to improve airflow
Yeah that's about it, essentials is what you need to get a good gaming box but to make it "great" you can add some amenities that adds capability to your PC.

I recently bought an SSD from mushkin for my system (which was on sale)
However, I am finding too many reviews online that contradict one another. Some people say that it wears out after 4 months of use, others say it still goes strong after 6 months. I need a direct answer /g/
Did I make a mistake by buying Mushkin over other name brands such as Samsung or Crucial? Or is Mushkin really the best affordable SSD right now?

I have that exact SSD. I have been using it for about 5 months or so in my daily driver, seems to work well. It is MLC which means it will wear quicker than other SSDs, but it should last longer than 4 months.

It requires Enterprise LTSB N version which is not part of free upgrade and cannot be activated without some shady activator.
The clean ISO for Pro has Cortana, Edge and Telemetry built into the system, cannot be removed or disabled. Some people use placebo firewall and hosts file thinking it is blocking system feedback, but it isn't.
Also since anniversary update 1607, it downloads crap like Facebook and Candy Crush in the background without your consent and has even more system apps that cannot be removed even by Ccleaner.
So good luck. Windows 10 is a service for data mining and advertising. Use it at your own discretion.

Hello from Romania. So i'm buying these.
-I'll be using an older case, Sata HDD, optical, power supply and video card from my current PC.
-This one has a Celeron E3300 clocked at 3.13 ghz, 3gb of ddr2 ram, Win 8.1 64bit and a GTX750 2gb ddr5.
-The only driver i have installed is the video driver. Other than that the .net framework is up to date, VC Redist is up to date, DX is 11.
-What else do i need to do to move the HDD to the new parts?

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7" tablet. Set it up. Have a problem. Video playback is a horrible juttery mess. Tried Netflix. Jutter. Tried Youtube. Jutter. It'll hang on random frames and then jerk.
Is this a known issue with Android or Samsung tablets? Is there any fix, or should I just return it as defective?

How do i prevent the cops from cloning or spoofing a phone number? Just last night, a dude called me from my girls number, sayin his name was jon and that he just got the phone earlier yesterday. Also, my girl and i are having problems, and i went to this guys house whos in her friendslist on facebook named jonathan but she wasnt there. When i got back here, i messaged her and told her soooo it wasnt jonathan huh or something like that... Not 2 minutes later... My girla phone called me, and i said let me speak to my girl who the fuck is this, and he said he just got that phone from walmart it was prepaid, and then he called me some shit word for word exactly what i called that guy jonathan on facebook messanger, and said his name was jon, then hung up.
I know now, well 98% sure it wasnt from my girls phone, buttttt my girls phone number hasnt been changed, i was just speaking to her just a few minutes ago. The more i think about it... The local cops are watching me and are TRYing to Provoke me!!! Calling from the same number as my girls number.
Now i do know theres an app on iphone you can spoof numbers with and make their number look like its yours.
Anyway, if these fuckers are trying to provoke me into doing something stupid, how do i prevent the phone number from being sooofed? Other than what most people would say "im thinking too much" and pretty much coming to the conclusion that the cops were watching me, knew what i was doing and tried provoking me... Trying to get me to raise hell and go back to that jonathan dudes house. Im Not thinking too much, im thinking latterally and acknowledging theres technology out there to spoof phones with.
How do i prevent this cloning and number or spoofing it shit?
Also, these fuckers watch Everything. Im damn near certain of it.
My girl very well Could have had a guy call me from her phone, but even with our problems, i still have to say she isnt that cruel.
Any answers? Opinions or what?
