My father was taught SICP at a community college. One day I went to one of his lectures, and I was so fascinated by what he was talking about that I actually took notes with pen and paper from beginning to end, something no one else bothered to do. My dad was proud of me and bought me a copy of SICP for myself. I was 10 at the time.

Do NOT work on anything admin related. I do and although I love my job you end up working overtime, barely sleeping, burnout with no social life or happines whatsoever.

Service Desk jobs are pretty comfy if you don't like any intellectual challenge and can tolerate the schedule (working weekends, night shifts, holidays)

if you want to go to the top you probably shouldve started going to college and studying by now. But if you want to get to the """""top"""" then you need to get a Network+ and Security+. Get a security clearance and start contracting for the government. You will be in a comfy position sooner or later and not only will you literally not know how to do your job, but you will have an inflated ego because you are technically in """IT""". You can then go out into the real workforce, get absolutely destroyed in a technical interview and realize that your only option is to go back to government contracting.

probably yes. it's hard and unrewarding. if you learn a higher level language, you see results earlier and that will keep you motivated.

if you have formal teaching, i think learning c first is better, since you learn the intricacies which are important and it also makes you value many of the things higher level languages do for you, at the cost of performance, while at the same time having a better grasp of what's happening. but when you're on your own, you gotta divide and conquer, so a higher level language is more recommended

It was such a fuck up when it was launched.

You'd get online and the time of survival was less than 30 seconds without SP1. It was 4 times the install size of Windows 2000, it took more resources than W2K to run and 98SE to do the same thing. Eventually it became the standard and "safe". I used Agnitum Outpost Firewall and it was awesome that way, you could set up rules for different programs and see exactly what was accessing the internet and what the destination IP was including resolving the websites they accessed. Anyway, rambling here. I been toying with the idea of installing it just to run games on.

I am hosting two websites on one VPS. One domain has TLS enabled through Let's Encrypt. The domain I just configured on the Apache server does not.

From what I have gathered, this kind of setup is a bitch.

I want to turn off the HTTPS on my first domain without removing all the keys and setup (in case I want to migrate the new domain to its own server later).

How can I quickly turn off HTTPS in Apache?

I want to host a purely HTML website, at home, with it's own domain. I know this has to be possible, since companies can register domains I will assume I can too, and as I can give other people my ip and port allowing them to connect to my website. No I don't need perl scripting or php or javscript or forms, no this site will not be having much traffic at all as it is very niche, no it does not even need to be up 24/7 as it will mainly be something I just link to people as it is a niche information center, every website seems to just try and dissuade me by making it sound so fucking hard when in reality I already have an HTML website, and all it takes is a single python3 command to bring it up which is all I need, just how do I get a domain so I don't have to give people my IP, therefore making it more memorable? Do I just contact my ISP?
