bodyshots are big in boxing much more than mma, floyd always starts slow then found a weak point - conor's body - and ripped it and took away his legs. then when he was a sitting duck he went head hunting. boxing 101.

New to cheffing, new to /fit/.
Are there any veggies out there that are just a waste of calories?
and conversely, what are some veggies that are a nutritional must?
18 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>42657548
Veggies that are a waste of calories? No, but if you want to minimize glycemic load to help with fat loss avoid anything starchy or even resembling a root vegetable - potatoes of all kinds, carrots, squash, that kind of thing.
>>
>>42657574
well yeah, I meant like veggies that aren't very nutritious, or that you can find a less calorie dense substitute for, something like that
I just literally never bought my own vegetables in my life, bout to head to the grocers tomorrow
>>
>>42657548
"Musts" would be spinach, cabbage, kale, mustard greens, broccoli, cauliflower, nettles, cucumber, and literally anything leafy or dark green. Lentils and black beans are also god tier.

things a woman has to do to be attractive
>pay a little attention to diet
>learn basic makeup

things a man has to do to be attractive
>pay lots of attention to diet
>learn complicated exercises and do them everyday
>spend years in college/uni to be educated
>put in years at a job to gain wealth and reputation
>socialize often and don't be a shut in
>be an actually fucking interesting person

what the fuck is the point lads

You forgot that after you do all that stuff as a man you are allowed to have some 4/10 30 year old used up cum dumpster who has decided you're the one and a good guy and you have a shitty autistic son with her and spend all your time doing everything she wants and dealing with her shitty family and then she divorces you 10 years later and takes all your shit and you're supposed to pretend like she was the greatest thing in the world.

Or you can just spend 5 minutes jacking to get the poison out and go on with your life doing things you want to do.

You're the closest thing 4chan has to Health, so I'm asking you bros about this.

Why do people fast? Does it actually have any sort of benefit, or is it all bullshit?
My friend, who is currently looking to lose weight bought a book on fasting recently. I saw it and it filled me with a little bit of anger. Isn't this shit, even done responsibly, a detriment to your metabolism? I feel like it's similar to detox and homeopathy, aka bullshit designed to abuse the trust and desperation of trendy health nuts.

Regardless. I should probably apologize.

Most science I've seen on fasting as far as 1 day off/6 days on per week is solid, especially for obese people.

However, if your friend is a normie at 16% BF and just a lil chubby, he's better off doing some cardio and going 500 calories under TDE.

tl;dr fasting is for fat fucks
>>
>>42657377
He's closer to 300.
I don't really know his schedule for it.

Does intermittent fasting burn more fat than just calorie restriction?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>42657310

Yes. Just do it properly.
>>
>>42657310
Yes. "Calories in calories out" is only part of the story. Perhaps the more important factor is whether or not your body is having an insulin response. While I'm fasting at work doing a physical job, I'm having no insulin response and am using my body fat as fuel.
>>
>>42657310
no

It took me 4 years to bench 2pl8

Yes I ate enough. I went from 60kg to 100kg then back down to 90kg.

I also ran SS and every other program under the sun.

I honestly want to commit suicide.
I am bad at every lift, every sport I try, everything.

I want to kill myself

I want to hang myself

I want to fucking die

Nothing upsets me more than seeing kids lift more than me

So, anon, what kind of creatine do you use?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
monohydrate from myprotein. Dirt cheap and theres no difference from any other creatine. No reason to buy anything else really.
>>
>>42657327
I got some of their creatine from the last deal I bought. It was the free gift. They sent me blueraspberry. It tastes like the fucking pixie sticks.

Do they load up their unflavored with sugar too, because why the fuck not?
>>
>>42657327
This. Prices are good and if you can catch a good sale its the cheapest around.
>>42657907
Lemon lime and blue raspberry are both really sweet, the orange isnt as bad but still sweet. The unflavored protein doesnt taste like much, the unflavored creatine probably doesnt either.

>noob post
So I've recently started lifting again and im wondering what type of diet I should have to help put on some healthy weight. Im 6'5 and 165 pounds, Im a fucking twig. I used to wrestle and even then I couldnt put on weight, even though I was lifting heavy 6 days a week. At one point in the season I had weighed 156 at a height of 6'4.

One of my highschool friends, who is the extremely muscular and works out more than anyone I know, told me it had to do with my diet. So could you guys give me a quick run down of what worked for you or what you think I should eat.

I started at 6'5", 165. It was a pain in the ass but using myfitnesspal to track calories really helped out. I'm a fan of pseudo-paleo but it's really up to you as long as you hit your calorie and protein goals for the week.

Sitting at 240lbs now. You'll get there.

Narrowed it down to Fierce 5 and /fit/s Greyskull LP variant.

I'm not sure about SS/SL/5x5 because of t-rex memery.

Tell me wtf I should do

OK fit excuse a brainlet but. How do people die and get cancer and go into comas and shit when they hit their head causing a :small bump" but their are boxers and mma fighters who literally hit each other extremely hard and knock each other out not just once but over the course of 20 years. How is this possible?
13 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>42657109
Because mma fighters and boxers get fucked too, you brainlet. CTE is pretty real. Pro boxers end up dumb af when they get older. Same applies to american football, its even worse there in fact.
Also, a lot of people are just fat and unfit and anything could fuck them up, even falling. If you are a big fat lardass with heart problems, diabetes and shit and you just fall down for some reason, anything can happen to you.
>>
>>42657161
Yes I know eventually they get fucked but how is it so common to die fro. A simple fall? When it takes years and years for pro athletes to get affected.
>>
>>42657287
Well, the bigger you are the harder you fall, so obviously people who are really fat are gonna be fucked. Pro athletes arent exacty fat, you know. More over, you arent falling on a harder surface when you are fighting in the cage/ring like you would if you got knocked out on the street. And pro athletes do die occasionally in the ring, it happens. Some people get KO'd and they never wake up. Especially if it was a kick or an elbow that knocked that poor guy out.

Aight /fit/, I've been on foreign soil for 2 months, been traveling around a lot but I haven't done any proper lifting or anything. I'm finally back home and gonna sign up to my gym again.

How fucked am I? I've been hitting the gym for 2 years before the trip and lost about 140 pounds and got stronk but getting back on track is going to be hard. Any tips?

It won't take long. At most a month or so. Muscle memory is a thing.
>>
About a week in you'll be back into the groove of things
>>
Rebuilding muscle doesn't take nearly as long as building muscle.

You'll neurologically adapt quick and that means you can lift more quicker. Lifting more means bigger actual gains.

6 weeks max to get back to where you were, faster depends on them genetics.

I could bench 265lbs 1rep when I was 210, had a surgery and quit gym for a while, instead of going back after surgery, I did only body weight and HIIT for cutting and am now bouncing between 182-185 and can only do 245lbs one rap max.
Im planning on going hard in the gym everyday from now on unless unforeseen circumstances prevent it.
I just started senior year and these are my stats.
Age: 17
Weight:182(this morning)
Height:6'1
Bodyfat%: 16% according to my smartscale
My training regime is as follows:
Mon: Upper body typically overload 5x5
Tues: Lower body 5x5 overload 5x5
Wed: rest and some occasional cardio
Thur: Upper body 3x10-12
Fri: Lower body 3x10-12
sat- rest and some occasional cardio
sun- just rest
Im still trying to find what macros I should follow for my goal but I just am curious if it's even attainable. I just want to be strong with an aesthetic physique.
Even if my goal isn't achievable in that time, I still want to be able to bench 315 at least one rep or more by the end of 2018, hopefully the end of sr. year though (June 7th 2018).
>pic related it's me
I can provide any additional information that may help give you an accurate figure for whether or not my goals achievable.

Hop on a powerlifting routine m80, along with a good dose of low intensity tricep and shoulder work. It should ensure you get back to your 1rpm and more. What surgery did you have?
>>
>>42657017
tonsillectomy and adenoid, and ironically enough got strep right before scheduled surgery so they had to remove extra tissue because they couldn't just not do the surgery so recovery time was extended from 2 weeks to like 3.5 where all I did was sip milkshakes and lay around. gained 5lbs quickly lost most of it though.
