Pink is tough to achieve and not get an awful shade. I'd start with a pure white or "natural" trucker of course. I would manually dye it rather than using a machine kit.

For that washed out color you'll want avoid mordant or any form of color securing agents probably. At least until after the first wash/until you reach the desired shade.

Dye can be tricky, you'll have to experiment a bit.
