David Stanton, an Australian guy on YouTube did a system like that. My friend copied his and it seems to work really well for woodworking.

Yes, you can cut steel with a Hacksaw.

It will take a very, very long time, a lot of sweat and a bunch of Hacksaw blades if you have any significant amount of steel to cut through.

Rent/buy a cheap angle grinder FFS. The only way a Hacksaw comes out cheaper is if your time is 100% worthless.

Here are towing regulations in all 50 states.

You'll notice in my OP picture, the rectangle at the bottom is 40 squares long and 13 squares high. That represents the maximum side profile I have to work with. The square at the top left is the maximum frontal profile. Each square is one foot.

At the bottom left is a line 13 high beside an L shaped line that's 7 high and 3 across the bottom. That's how big my doors are to the backyard and I put those there for scale.

Here's one of the better trailerable catamaran layouts I've seen. I've got a couple I use for inspiration.

The main problems to me are the hulls are too short. I'd want standing headroom for almost the entire length of the hulls.

well it all depends
where do you live?
somewhere hot? ac is expensive, blow up a paddling pool infront of your sofa to steep your feet in to keep you cool
somewhere cold? wear a jumper. if your heating is even electric.

insulate your house. double glazing, blinds, heavy curtains. curtains over doors. how many rooms/floors? heat/cool a smaller area, live in a bedroom if necessary. keep other doors closed to help insulate from the outside

what electric do you use?
lights? switch to cfl/led when you need to. keep your house tidy so you can walk around in the dark. get a miners lamp helmet with a handcrank.
adjust your sleeping hours to use daylight efficiently. hibernate during the winter.

tv? get a much smaller one or read a book, listen to radio.

computer? use computers at a library to do your internetting. get a jazz mag instead of watching porn online.

electric oven? get a gas oven. eat microwave meals instead. or cold food i.e. sandwices and shit. cook food outside on a bbq using scrap wood. chop up pallets for wood if you dont mind lung cancer

electric shower? get a gas shower
lay a hosepipe outside under a sheet of glass and learn the navy shower technique to save
water.

want to spend to save? solar cells on a south (depending on location) facing roof. watch out for snow. keep them clean, sell electricity to grid.
farm? wind turbine. easy to diy too plenty of tutorials.
live near a river? build a water turbine. environmental police will fuck your shit up if they find you however.

around here if you have an electric car you get free parking and free recharge in the city while your car is parked, so buy an electric car and fill the back with extra batteries, charge them for free during the day then run your house via inverter by night.

all depends how far you want to take it.

it's got 4 connections, so my guess is that it's a pushbutton, similar to this, except the push-in part is recessed. if you press in the center, you might feel a click.

That's actually a pretty dank idea. You would need to shell out quite a bit for a decent projector tho, and especially important will be finding one that will focus at such a short distance (ie floor to surface of table). Plexiglass might be a good protective surface, but you'll need something semi-opaque for the projection to show up on, like a white sheet of some kind.
A (perhaps cheaper) alternative would be to put a big flatscreen into the table, but both have challanges

I'd probably use a 4:3 flatpanel bolted under plexiglass in a way that it won't be load-bearing as to protect the screen itself. Any projector that can focus in that short of a distance is gonna set you back quite a bit.

I actually work with projectors and surfaces on a daily basis, and I believe you could use anything white to project on as long as the room is dark enough. The covering for it would be best if it were very clean glass, but reflections are going to suck. You'd be better off just using a durable white surface that has a low-gloss finish. Maybe particle board of some type. If your ceiling is not at least 6 to 8 feet away then you may have trouble getting it to be a big enough image. But if it's closer then it will look better, so do some research on that matter and worry less about the table.

You could paint the top. The few thousandths of an inch error induced by paint won't affect woodwork.

The setup requires a timer to complete the circuit and turn on the enlarger lamp. I don't have a timer. The timer plugs into the back of the power supply.

I only took a basic electrical engineering course in college so I don't know much about this. I'd like to avoid having to buy a timer. Could I use a spare electrical cord, plug it in the back of the power supply, and cut the other end off, connecting the positive and negative wires?

OH wow guy, I just bought a Zenith BnW enlarger for my girlfriend.
She wants to build a dark room so I'm hoping to surprize her. A late new year sort of present.
However didn't get a timer with the unit. Its a simple little unit with a incandescent bulb in the top that just plugs in to a wall outlet.
I figured id just make an Arduino controlled timer with a relay switch and a timer.
But I haven't given it much thought yet.
I kinda figured i'd use a couple of buttons one prolongs exposures buy like x sec another one shortens it by x. 2 more buttons define the incrament, and a third button starts the exposure.
But I'm thinking if I should use an led display, might fuck up exposures :/

i also have a few semiconductors, correct me if im wrong; they will allow power to flow through them if they hit the right temp? so i could say put it in a room with a heater and have something turn on or off depending on how hot i get the room? (my dumb downed comprehensions)

The patio looks like a pretty dark corner. The dark color of the wood adds to that. You might want to change that.
Also the column, floor and everything else looks dirty. Clean that and/or buy new patio furniture. Add plants or grow spices or stuff.
