You need to brace as pictured to remove wobble.

I don't know how you're going to do that with pallets you're going to have to get creative. My table is made from 2x4's so design and bracing is super simple.

My plan was to use 2x4's, but everything in my country is very expensive and I was not willing to pay a lot of money for a simple workbench.

That's not 'free energy' OP, that's a transducer; you're converting mechanical energy (moving the magnet) into electrical energy, by inducing a current in the coil.

Now, if you want to play around with something, try this: Put up a long-wire antenna outside your house, as high up as you can get it. For bonus points, tune the length for 1000kHz (middle of the AM broadcast band). Sink a 6-foot ground rod into the ground for a good, solid earth ground point. Connect that to the lowest voltage drop Schottky diode you can find, using the ground rod for your circuit ground. Now you're stealing power from all the AM broadcast transmitters in your area. Connect that to an energy-harvesting-and-storing circuit that charges a supercapacitor or secondary battery (Linear Technology has ICs that are designed to do this), and over time you have 'semi-free' energy (again, you're 'stealing' it from AM broadcast transmitters -- but they're giving it away anyway).

Thank you, that's what I figured.

I'm making a DIY light/reflector for some plants and because the reflector is going to be made out of metal duct I thought it'd be a good idea to ground it. I could just stop being cheap and spring for a grounded timer (like $12), but where's the fun in that?

you should be using a wind turbine to generate electricity.

if you wanna connect the blades directly to the alternator, it wont work coz the rotational speed is too low. you'd have to rewire the alternator to compensate. however if you have a windmill, then presumably you can use gears or belts to obtain the necessary speed, so it could work unaltered.

How about you just do it right? One of these costs $5 and if the boxes are grounded, like you claim, its a 2 minute install.

Or you could just replace the old fixture with a standard outlet. Its probably a standard sized 4 inch box behind the fixture.

Actually I don't care if it's sugar or not, I'm just trying to produce a slab which needs to be opaque (and possibly shiny) and that could be destroyed if rained upon or exposed to water.

I found isomalt, which seemed to be the easiest way with to produce such an object. But any other ideas are welcome.

best i can say is don't be a cheapass. beer brewing is a hobby where you spend a good amount of money - to not save any money. _you don't do it to save money!_ if you try to save money it will not be fun.

for example: get a decent brew pot - one that's a little too big for what you need. one with a spigot perhaps. if you're gonna do this for for the rest of your life why not. seriously - look at the videos like "huehue here's how you user your new cheapass kit!" - look at that big ass lovely brew pot they use that doesn't come with your cheapass kit.

also - don't buy small size stuff. go full size batches the very first time. nothing like throwing away your 1 gallon piece of junk because you need to upgrade, or only having one gallon of fantastic beer that you just waited months for.

i duno, find a brew supply store in town if you have one and ask questions, or see if there's somebody in town who will let you help brew a batch or something

Lutron Maestro wireless dimmer. Make sure to not get the RF variety as that kind needs line of sight to operate. Make sure you understand how to install the switch correctly, and research if the switch requires a neutral conductor, as older building wiring usually does not have a neutral at the switch.

Depending on the light switch location, I would just just a hole on the inside wall of the closet, right behind the light switch, rotate the box and switch to be inside the closet, then put a blank plate over the hole on the out side.
