I'm not much of a wood worker, but I think a back panel would hold your boards together. Like the cardboard panels on some tv stands. Just put the nails in every 3/4 foot.

I have a large piece of plywood I was going to use for that, but my wife likes the look of it without. If the new supports dont hold well enough I'll be doing that for sure.

Take the chuck off the lathe, try cleaning it up.

Soaking in Diesel will usually loosen up the old grease or dried out oil.

The jaws are often numbered to correspond to slots, just reassemble the same way.

If you've pulled the jaws and it's still stiff, find a bit of keystock the same size as the key, chuck it in a drill and while douching it out with penetrating oil, run the drill forward and backward to free it from the dried grease or rust.

A lot of mini lathes use large O rings for drive belts, but if you find a small AG or industrial belt that fits, they should work fine.

I have a belt from a concrete cutoff saw turning my old Atlas.

Have been hit in the forehead by a few brad nails, every time that shit happens I shit just a little. Worst had to be a sprained ankle from falling downstairs with a miter saw. Bruise ran most of the length of my foot on both sides, I think it was only as bad as it was because I was trying to save the saw, but either way it hurt for probably half a year.

Literally any fucking box shaped object at all. Or no box. You could very easily make a tall planter out of wood and create a false bottom where you mount your shit and ventilate it as much as you want. You can mount it in your wall. You can mount the components inside the desk cabinet.

My computer's motherboard is mounted to one of the filing cabinets in my huge, heavy, steel desk. There's no way to quickly take it and go.

trouble with this idea is your burglar will just follow the cables from your monitor, keyboard etc to this box.

So that means you with have to unplug and hide your keyboard and monitor every time you go out, and let's be honest after a month you'll stop doing that because you're human.

What about a nuclear proof shelter? Can you weld led pipes into a frame for your bunker? Led helps with RPF (Radiation Protection Factor)

For what purpose? Is it worth it? I'm looking up info on earthen insulation r value and, given the problems with sealing against water penetration and the shear volume of earth to be moved, it makes so much more sense to just put in a couple inches of insulation above ground.

Fuck that. I've used the same Fenix at work for 2 years. Fits right in my pocket and does a damn good job.

Wanted to keep the OP short, but here are my observations so far:

1. They used to all suck, but they're getting better all the time. I would never go back to incandescent.
2. They are expensive. I'm OK with that, but there are so many brands it is impractical for one person to compare 20 of them.
3. At the stores they are in packaging that does not lend itself to quickly testing for fitness.
4. Some are great for close up but all I have used are mediocre at best for longer distances.
5. Because I lose these a lot and I would like to have one for each car, two or three around the house, one for the bench, one for work, and one for my pocket because my sight is shit, I would buy about 12 of them if I could find one worthy.

I have a few LED Maglites, I have the XL100, an original aa Maglite LED with single mode, and the upgraded Maglite LED with the 3 modes.
They work fine and are cheap

This, cheapest way to get something like that is to scavenge from some scrap yard, they'll sell you a scrap bit of steel dirt cheap and it doesn't exactly have to be complicated so you'll pretty much be guaranteed to find something to fit the bill.

If you haven't layed bricks before, take your time setting up the area, making sure it's level and get your string lines and plumbs in order, nothing worse than having to rush or stop in the middle because something is out of whack and ending up with a grill where the sausages roll off because it's not level.

As with anything, it depends. I bought the corded one mostly for scraping and big long tough cuts of that nature. The thing is a beast.

The 12v is smaller and light weight that I bought for quick cuts on the job such as conduit (I'm an elctrician) or pipes. Also in some wear houses, electricity might not always be close buy.

I know you might say "oh just use a hack saw", but on long runs with rigid or larger sized pipes, it wears out the ol meat beater pretty quick, I don't care how strong you are.
