Anyone have experience with this thing?
I'm thinking of getting it because I can't justify spending more on a hobby printer
Reposting from last thread:
So I'm needing to replace the thermistor on my hotend, and the factory one was taped on with teflon/PTFE tape. Will just any old teflon tape do? I have a bunch of the kind used for plumbing/irrigation.
Also, something I didn't think about was that the thermistor has a socket on the end of it. Do these things release somehow? I have a bunch of the metal bits, forgot what they're called, but they're pretty stuck inside there. Currently I just bent the leads of the new thermistor so they'd wrap around the (male) ports, and spring tension keeps the contact.

Go for it
Your only other choices in that price range arent any better.
Its built upon open source software which is maturing nicely, it should print fine. And you can always upgrade anything you want on it.
Now that RadioShack's gone in most places, where do y'all go to get your fix?

really fuckin chaps my tits that i have to order and ship simple inexpensive components now. i really hope some retailer steps-up and fills the radio shack void. this shit's pants-on-head retarded.

Would /diy/ers make thier own eyewear frames? Wether it be for prescribed or just for fun shades to wear. That would be pretty pretty cool. I think.
>>974110
apparently we make our own dentistry supplies, so why the fuck not.
>>974110
If you're an artist and a man who has an impeccable taste of aesthetics, would you want to build one your self?
Of course you would. You're a /diy/er.
>pic relate
How I imagine yours will look like
>>974111
Then how come Its rare to find people who make their own custom shades? I know the answer but I want to see more threads dedicated to it.
Is this black mold?
I just took this old range hood down in my apartment.
Would I be able to clean this shit out without getting sick?
Is a little bit of black mold okay if it's hidden behind something?
If I cleaned it out and sprayed the areas inside the wall that I am unable to clean with some antifungal spray would it work?
Wouldn't the water in the spray eventually make the mold grow back?
More pics incoming
Halp pls
This one looks worse is dangling and fibrous.
>>972396
How crappy is your apartment?
>>972397
It's kind of crappy but I painted a bit to improve it.
It's cheap
So if I can remove this shit I get cheap rent.
Im looking to be a huge dick to some local rc assholes. I want to build an rc plane with a jammer (timed not toggle ) the lighter the better. Any schematics? Also if you have a good idea fro the rc plane that would be good but I've got a sketch somewhere.
>>974249
no.
what you need is a 3.4ghz retrotransmitter, 14 generic unification nodules, a few transwobulators, a selection of quadratic bimodal reflex valves, a metal rod about 8 inch long and thick as a toilet roll, and basic soldering skills. first off you need to shove that rod up your ass, then post up here and i'll guide you through the rest.
>>974249
How would you control your plane if you are jamming the RC frequencies?

>>970883
DC generators are awful. Edison was wrong.
There is a DC generator in my 64' Chevy. I can't imagine the world being run off scaled up Chevy generators for decades before now. We'd have run out of copper and coal 50 years ago.
I wonder what Dave Jones is trying to April fools now...
Anyone have an idea of where I can find a bracket like this? All I can seem to find are U-brackets that have a hole on both sides. The most important part is the 1" inside measurement. I don't have the tools to make them myself and I need 8 of them.
>>974864
Cut off what you don't need, Mr. Can't DIY, wont DIY.
>>974865
You stupid idiot, just because I don't have the resources to make one small piece of hardware doesn't mean I'm not making something with them. You moron god damnit your post is fucking worthless, what was the point of that? Do you think I just want 8 of these things to put in a fucking display stand so I can show my friends and say "Look what I made!" I fucking hate you, you piece of shit. I ask one fucking simple question because I can't think of the specific fucking name of the hardware I need and you have to get snarky as fuck.
ITT we post something to make other /diy/ fags jelly.
Keep it /diy/ related though!
Pic related. I have more downstairs. I got them all for free.
What am I looking at here? Dildos?

Not op but 29 18650 batteries it appears.
Why are they being stored in a chain on fabric, does op want to start a fire?
Satisfying pictures/gifs

The golden color welds are actually better quality than the blue/purplish welds.
>>968272
Welder here, not all the time, on multi pass, the heat from the following welds often change the color, you are somewhat correct tho, because on single pass, gold colored welds are best welds
idunno if my meager refurb work really counts but me and my friends find it satisfying anyway
So I've been working on this for the last few weeks. Those are decellularized fruit and veg (broccoli and strawberry). I used a weak surfactant solution to slowly wash all the cellular material away leaving only a mostly cellulose scaffold behind. The scaffolds can be used to grow almost any new tissue you want and one researcher is using a similair technique to grow human cells on apple-derived scaffolds. I was thinking about growing some cow muscle on the strawberry and make some meat berries. I made a video going through the whole process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddGR7YKuN-I
>>964814
There are 3D printer technologies that use scaffold technology to print human organs.

I like you, plese continue.
Biology teacher here, this is actually pretty cool...
May try this over the summer, thanks for sharing!

My desktop microphone stand. it's an ikea lamp with the head taken off, microphone is wired to the top, the bend in the arm is supported by a steel ruler, whole thing is G clamped to my desk. It swivels out of the way when I'm not using it, works great.
My relationship with jess

Flat metal prongs are supererior from a manufacturing and implementation point of view, plus the ubiquitous ground prong is very important, plus devices that are phase-sensitive need to have the hot and cold prongs matched correctly.
All this other shit is just an identity crisis of countries who got electricity later and wanted to be unique.
I agree.
The NA or cunts take it.
>The top right smiley one makes me happy though.
What yuropoor country is that? Sweden?
>>966646

its Switzerland.
I'd say from the picture, the Italian one is the simplest and looks the cleanest.
Japan looks fucking retarded like they've got zero electric codes at all. and all the EU ones make me angry. the china/aussie ones look fucking stupid.
What do you think of DIY body hacking?
yet another method for cleansing the gene pool
chlorine for everyone!
Disgusting and stupid and I say this as a tranny.
Though I guess if you're not hurting anyone else it's fine.
>>962672
It's too early for body hacking to have a good risk:benefit.
However, if people want to be pioneers, I say let them. Maybe we can learn something from their stupid risk taking.
The one body hack I've seen that comes close to being viable is inserting a small magnet (2mm) into the side of a fingertip in order to better sense magnetic and electrical fields.
If the surgery is conducted with proper technique and sterile procedure, and the magnet is properly prepared and coated then it's not significantly more dangerous than some body piercings and it gives a definite advantage.
The problem is that it generally has to be self surgery by an amateur without any anesthetic, which IMO pushes the risks into the unacceptable range.
Can someone explain live/neutral wires to me like I'm retarded? I've just realised I have absolutely no fucking idea how electrical systems work.
I went back to basics, and I understand what a volt is, what an amp is etc, but I don't understand the distinction between live and neutral wires, how a current flows to ground, or how current returns to the generators.
Help?
>>972292
live kills you.
neutral doesnt. this is the only thing you need to know. so when wiring shit up, make sure the neutral is tied to the chassis and not the live wire. same for wiring light sockets. make sure the live is the pin contact and not the ring.
>>972292
so live wire is an electrical charge from the generator/battery. a neutral wire is a wire that grounds back to the generator/battery, and if connected to the live wire there will be current flow.
if you connect a neutral wire to a ground (such as you), nothing happens, because there's not electrical imbalance. to use the water metaphor, it's like introducing a damp sponge to an empty cup.
a live wire connected to a ground, on the other hand, will transfer current until the electrical charge has reached equilibrium with the ground. so like a damp sponge exposed to a waterfall will get soaking wet.
This is why electricians working on high voltage lines wear a suit, they are insulated from the ground and the suit is charged to be in balance with the power in the lines.
So also going back to basics, the difference between DC and AC current, DC is a flow, think like a bicycle chain, AC is an oscillation, like a saw. So AC doesn't really need to complete a circuit to get power going, just to ground.
please note, that i'm an electrical idiot, and am like 4 youtube videos ahead of you in knowledge.
Ok I feel stupid for needing to ask this, what the fuck is this called?
Its an outlet/socket/power I get that, but I'm looking up 2 things.
First, one that has a usb built into it.
Second, one with leds built in for a hall light.
But I cant for the life of me look for this myself without knowing what the damn thing is called.
Because this would be a useless thread after one post, lets also make this a general "my question is short, many people could answer it, but no idea where to put it" question thread.
