Got a pair of locking vise grip pliers from husky, they were just as good as irwin vise-grip brand (but almost half price).

Attack weight x to it and see how long it takes to lift the weight given distance y. Then you can calculate its hp.

I already hit up google or I wouldn't be here. Just to humor you I followed your link. I went to the first 10 links in that, they were all useless. They were either all simple 'volts + amps = horsepower' calculators (not accurate enough) or required I know the efficiency of the motor. If I had the dataplate with the efficiency spec on it I would already have the horsepower. I skipped links talking about cars of course.

if you were a master craftsman, preferably Japanese, you could use of these to get a perfectly flat surface. but you're not, so forget it. if you can find a small renovation company, you might phone and ask if they'll do it for you. sometimes they finish a job early, and can spare a few minutes when they get back to the shop.
alternately, find something already flat and cheap, like wallboard.

I keep mine in a drawer with the plastic covers they came with that sort of almost stick on. If they're in the drawer they are pretty good about it.

I just fixed grandpa's shop vac that sounded like it was going to explode and was missing a bearing and I thought the brushes were fucked or something... It was just the switch wire being loose. ... And the missing bearing that I shoved a bunch of aluminum shim in.

(The best thing I learned in highschool was from Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance... and in that philosophy book, the best thing was that a beer can/soda can makes a fantastic shim.)

I wrapped the bare chisels in saran wrap and dipped the ends in pic related. Allowed to dry then repeated twice.

the plastic cling film made it relatively easy to pull the rubber coat off, then trimmed with a box cutter. I also pulled off the saran wrap from the ends with pliers.

I was dumb and threw the plastic covers away the moment I brought them home. The chisels have been banging their edges with wrenches and pliers in a toolbox since, but no more. It took so long to hone the nicks out of them it made me sick to put them back in the toolbox without condoms to protect them. Not like they're expensive tools and I give a shit, but damn I don't want to have to sharpen them again just because the edge made contact with a socket.

Well here's one, a machine that creates honeycomb instead of corrugated cardboard for boxes. you get the same strength of box while reducing the material used, so end up with a reduction in garbage.

Algae -> biopolymer/cellulose generation as a sheet -> thick sheets you can stamp into compostable dining ware. Maybe integrate a stiff but energy-intensive biopolymer to make the dining ware out of a composite of multiple different types of plastics.

Maybe integrate fertilizer into it, so that your compost generates good stuff for plants, so that your plants power an aquaponics system with algal biofuel, so that somehow you can go right back to manufacturing dining ware.

No one will ever have to wash dishes again. Everyone grills. Beans and rice are cooked in gigantic self-cleaning basins.

You're going to want to locate studs and mount a couple 1x2" s to them and then mount your ped board to the 1x2"s. There needs to be a gap behind the pegboard for the back side of the tool holders.

If you really want to mine for loose gold, at least look into a sluice setup or something. Simply panning won't pan out in a financial sense. It's labor intensive and has very poor returns on your time.
