Today we're starting with Amazing Spider-Man 671. I want to apologize for seemingly abandoning the thread last night. Apparently my 4chan pass ran out which halted the thread and I had already unfortunately fallen asleep. I assure you all that will NOT happen again. Sorry again.
Also if anyone's interested here are the links to Bendis' Powers from start to finish. The link to the TV is provided at the bottom.

>replace "abcd" with "mediafire".
>password is the primary name Walker used while operating as a superhero. Think super HARD!
Heading home now. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Also I know that we had progressed a little into this issue but I hate starting a thread mid issue.
Crap, forgot the image.
One thing I kinda liked about Spider-Island is it went back to the "summer" setup a lot of old events had.
>>90295667
Forgot to ask in the last thread, do they just watch any movies on their movie night? Like will they watch The Room, or Sharknado, or some porno?
>>90348587
I like to think they do...
>the fucking eyes on that cover
Jesus.
Apparently this image contains an embedded file. Who knew?
>>90348962
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING!?!?!? Now it's all i can see lol
Fuck and Yeah!!!!!! Also, how does everyone feel about the SPider-Queen's origins? Yeah or neigh?
Atta boy Flash!
Flash, what did you do!?!?!?
But seriously, I want a Venom and Cap series and I want it now!!!!
Well that's not appealing
Kaine, you're too good for this world. I'm glad I'm going to storytime your series.
>>90349912
I just noticed this kirby esque paneling.
>>90348116
Ah yes, it's nice to go back and read this once in a while. The last SI storytime years ago was a blast.
>>90350148
based beardbro too good for this world
>>90350425
Sorry again for not following through last night. A bunch of things happened that contributed to me not following through.
Also, as a personal preference where would you guys suggest I go after I finish Spider-Island? Because in reality I have a lot of places to go.
Before I reach the end of 700, I have to have gone through Avenging 1-15 so I could detour into that.I also have a couple Venom issues I need to get through before the crossover with Scarlet Spider so I could get that out of the way. Or I could just continue on with Slott and anytime I think we need a breather we can switch to something else for a bit.
>>90348872
There it is
>>90348996
I'm really glad I only got into Slott's run once the Superior setups started, I don't think I could have stood all this Number 6/Carlie stuff. It all feels so contrived.
And that's why I would always include Hercules with any hypothetical Avengers line up. And on that note, what would be your guys Avengers lineup? Let's keep it to six-seven members.
--Classic Dream Team
Captain America (Rogers)
Iron Man (Stark)
Thor (Odinson)
Hawkeye (Barton)
Ant-Man/Giant Man (Pym)
Wasp (Van Dyne)
Hulk (Banner)
I fucking loved the Avengers EMH lineup so much.
--My Custom Team
Captain America (John Walker) -- FUCKING MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Ms. Marvel (Danvers)
Hercules
Moon Knight
Doctor Strange
Black Panther
Scarlet Spider (Kaine)
>>90350604
LOL!!!!
>>90350839
It was definitely a wild ride actually experiencing Slott's run as it came out since 2012. I'm been hanging in for five years and I gotta say, the man may not be the best writer, but he can consistently turn out stories that are at the very least entertaining. As weird as it is to say I feel like I've grown to enjoy Slott more as I read him. His dialog may definitely feel contrived at times and he has his characters routinely take stupid pills as necessary, but he lays the foundations for each and every one of his stories meticulously.
>>90350429
>I love you
To this day I still wonder why Slott bothered implying that the two of them were working towards getting back together, just to have MJ give Peter a final fuck you and walk out of his life after Superior. Was it just misdirection? Did he just change his mind? Or did editorial make him change it?
In retrospect, it just seems like a wasted plot thread.
>>90351098
I personally think he's going to have them get back together by the end of his run. Don't know why but I can see him doing it.
>>90350990
Kaine definitely looks better with the short blonde hair.
ALso I feel like Carlie is being a little hard on Peter. IF she were in his position I doubt she would have said shit but god knows we can't have realistic characters here.
Carlie couldn't have gotten in more wrong. Pete is always going to be that little nerdy boy from Queens that loves science and is devoted to his family.
......you're not going to get me to storytime One Moment in Time. Ain't gonna happen. I miss the JMS Pete and MJ marriage. .
Being Peter is suffering.
Stupid sexy MJ
>>90349471
stone cold
Gotta say, I feel like Slott stuck the landing on this one.
>>90348872
Ugh... that art hurts.
This is a fantastic follow up to the Spider-Island epilogue.
>>90351442
One of the few times where I get where both characters are coming from. What's it called when characters act in a believable consistent manner? I feel like there's a word for that.
>>90351502
Makes me wonder what the hell happened. He pretty much can't finish a story correctly anymore. Any arc or event he writes just kind of screeches to an unsatisfying end in the final pages these days.
>>90350128
Dark Reign Electric Boogaloo
Oh no....
Oh god no!
AND HE JUST SHRUGGED THAT SHIT OFF!!!
>>90351322
"I've been careful!" says the guy who swung around with his powers in broad daylight during the event.
This is tragic
Going to switch gears and storytime some Avenging Spider-Man. It's written by Zeb Wells (writer of the Spider-Man story Shed) to give you an idea of what he's capable of.
>>90352383
I remember this series being utterly mediocre until it got passed to Yost, am I mistaken? I remember pre-Yost had some truly goofy teamups like Devil Dinosaur and Hypno-Hustler.
JEsus when did this series come out? Look at Iron Man's armor! He started Slott's run with bleeding edge if I'm not mistaken. I probably should have done this pre Slott.
>>90352439
I think the series is incredibly hit or miss. I might be romanticizing it because it's been so long since I read it. And Yost's run is most assuredly the stronger set of issues. Avenging 15.1 onward was gold.Liberty Bonds
Never change Jonah
And now he references Spidey getting his spider-sense back? So Iron Man's armor was an artist mistake. MYSTERY SOLVED!
Already we're off to a fantastic start
>>90348116
'dem sexy bedroom eyes.even if one of them is looking half-way down the hall
So far I'm loving this issue.
>>90349860
>all that tragic letter from Flash's dad stuff, really moving stuff
>then Cap quips about "public fornication"!!1
That's Remender for you I guess
You did it to yourself, Jonah.
>>90352643
It's REEEAAAALLLLYYY hard to pinpoint a tone with him.
Mole Man looks pissed
Too his credit, he did stop himself.
=O
Fastest downhill decline of all time.
Oh nooooooooooooooooo
Bump.
Thanks teach. Nice storytimes. I liked powers. Kinda blue balled by how it ended.
Stay black
>>90353655
=D
Just take the win, Peter.
Anybody know what Mole Man has been up to since here?
Just realized I should have just continued wit the Venom series because this picks up immediately after here.
>>90352089
I think the reason I put it off is because we're not going to get many more Venom stories until we reach the very end of Slott's run.
>>90351434
>>90351452
>>90351472
MJ in the Spider-Man shirt is SO DAMN HOT
>>90353971
A girl wearing my clothing is a personal weakness. Anytime my ex put on my shirt she just made it a billion times sexier than I ever could.....I need to go out dating....
I wouldn't have shook his hand either....but god damn if Crime-Master isn't glorious
Flash is fucking savage
Well fuck you too then.
I think that's a bit of an overstatement Cap.
Crap
FLash is a real american hero
Glad to see Remender didn't forget about our boy Eddy
Peeps reading along?
=(
Jack O Lantern you glorious bastard
Venom and Jack's relationship is eerily similar to PEte and Goblin's relationship. Goblin absolutely adores the idea of "playing the game" with Peter while Peter actively wants nothing to do with him. I love it.
LOOK AT HIS EYES!!!!
Oh come on!
>You're right about this hero business, Venom...
>...Feels terrific!
This man deserves his own series.
>>90354670
Shit. Wrong panel. I tried.
And now we're about to get jack's backstory.
This is by far one of the most bizarrely original origin stories I've read.
Does he just carry mini candles on his person so he can do that?
>>90354893
So... I mean. This is great for a complicated Eddie, but this is some stone cold evil shit. Venom not just eating this guy is pretty bad for his character.
>>90355025
I assume the only reason he hasn't ripped his arm off and fed it to him is because he knows he couldn't prevent the murder of his loved ones. Which I add is a stupid decision. Taking out Jack would probably prevent the murder of at least another hundred to two hundred people easy if Jack consistently caused as much mayhem as he did at the start of this series.
God do I love Jack's costume
I'll say it again, Jack needs his own mini at the very least.
As someone that used to rely on alcohol to self medicate, this hit a little too close to home.
=(
And this is where this story draws to a close. We're not going to see anymore Venom until Amazing Spider-Man #690+. I hope everyone here enjoyed. The next thread we're going on a Slott EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!!
>>90352777
How very Joe Mad-ish.
>>90353911
Really weird that they're holding the funeral in a snowstorm when it was easily established that Spider Island took place in May/June. I know these issues and Circle of Four was roughly November-April but it still looks weird.
>>90350148
> Kaine this is where my love for you began.
>>90350825
Why does Carlie have a Spidey tattoo on her hip bone?
For those of you that already read through Slott's Arcs, which ones were your favorite? Least favorite?
>Favorite
First Six Issues of Superior were pretty amazing.
>Least Favorite
ALpha arc. No contest.
>Most Divisive
Clone Conspiracy. I have no idea how I should feel. It's stupid in so many ways but also manages to serve as a story that literally could not have been created without the prior couple years of stories that came before. I know that may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people but I think it's astonishing. Also the aren't is pretty kick-ass in parts and the premise is begging me to pick up the book.
>>90355721
It doesn't make sense to me either. I'm trying my best to maintain continuity between 3 (soon to be 4) Spider-Titles and it's becoming a bit of a pain. I thought about just doing Slott's issues but so much nuance and character would be lost if I just did that.
>>90355810
Because she makes bad life choices lol. In reality, she went out partying with her gal pals and decided to get a tattoo. Initially she was going to get a Goblin tattoo but decided upon spidey instead. Bet she's regretting getting it now.
>>90355872
Meant to say, the art is amazing. I'm sleepy and apparently can't type.
>>90354670
Jack definitely deserved better than the ill-done return in Bunn's run.
>>90355112
Gotta love the double overhead...whatever that move is called. And it actually feels well-used here because it plays off of the momentum of the current action.
>>90356264
>feels well-used here because it plays off of the momentum of the current action.
Well put. Venom feels like a literal canon ball hurtling through the air.
Bump for more Spider-Man! I'm loving this expansive look at all of his titles at the time
>>90348587
>>90348828
>Like will they watch The Room, or Sharknado, or some porno?
This sounds like the setup for a Tracy Scops comic.
>>90354513
I am senpai. Haven't read comics in a awhile since they don't really interest me, or are just plain dog shit. I was just stumbling through /co/ for some strange reason and came across your threads a couple of days ago. I have been thoroughly enjoying these thus far. Keep up the good work.
