There's the problem, the large general public does not take animation seriously unless it's on the big screen.

Now who takes animation very seriously? Animators and film festivals. Not sure of the size of those groups however.

Because when people in America think of animation aimed at adults they think of Simpsons or Family Guy. Anything else that is animation is regarded as animation for kids or isn't popular enough to matter.

One time, ironically it was the episode where the gang tells him to stop accusing Red every fucking time. If I remember correctly, Fred broke down crying at the end of the episode and it was played for laughs

I THINK I remember one episode where Red was the perpetrator, and it happened to be the one time the rest of the gang was able to convince Fred that he wasn't.

Most of them are. "Best" depends on which characters you like but most people like Under the Red Hood, First Flight and Emerald Knights.

Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin are generally considered to be the worst ones though.

The ones related to New52 are complete garbage. Every character talks and acts the same - like an immature asshole. Plus they're boring and have lousy animation. Avoid at all costs.

Start from oldest to newest, they have constantly been getting lower budgets which makes them on par with mediocre tv animated movies. At that point you are better off reading the original source material.
