What's that?
Can WONDER WOMAN save the fledging DC Cinematic Universe?
>>85190401
>fledgling
I mean, it's going to be four movies in then, right? Four. That's not really fledgeling any more, is it? Five if you want to count the misfire that was Green Lantern. You know if it hadn't flopped it'd be part of this mess as well.
How many chances do you give a stupid guy to stop being stupid?
I hope not, but probably.
>>85190401
Nope, but I'm going to watch it anyway.I liked her theme song and thought she was the 2nd best thing for BvS, the 1st being the Batfleck warehouse scene.
I fucking loved it. It was everything I expected.
The Waller scenes were the best part. Her whole introduction tying into BvS/MoS was great. The world building was excellent. Batman was great. Batman v Deadshot in the alley was pure sex.
The only thing I wanted was an explanation for how Diablo and Killer Croc came to be.
>>85190323
In the end Joker will always look stupid in this movie. Now and forever.
>>85190323
But it wasn't feminist enough so 0/10 buy Disney stocks
>>85190323
It was a 7/10 and that's mostly because I felt they got the characters (as is possible in an adaptation).
Pacing was a mess and it felt like a lot of actually important to the plot scenes ended on the cutting room floor.
Boomer da best, Katana was wasted.
Any interest in a Bone storytime?
Sure. Non-cape storytimes bring out the best in /co/.
i'm interested in your bone lol
>>85174835
I'm game.
Why did God allow comics to exist?
What did she mean by this?
>>85190170
Who wrote this?they need to meet the rope
>>85190170
I'd probably be upset by this if I just got done fapping, but at the moment it just gives me a boner.
Represent your hood, /co/mrades
>Tampa, Florida
I'm sure there are plenty of characters from Chicago but I can't be bothered to think of any.
britfag, nothing particularly close.
although my hometown of burnley lends it's name to one of the districts in gotham
Zoom went to George Mason University.
That's right there in the Fairfax/Burke/Springfield area. Close enough to where I used to live.
It's the best I could find.
Was Aaron's Doctor Strange run just a complicated way to neuter the character?
Oldschool Strange was a powerhouse because he was fighting gods and demons that were more powerful still. His powers were vaguely defined and prone to power creep or narrative abuse. This was partly what was blamed when his series was cancelled in the 90s; Marvel said people didn't find Strange relatable or didn't like the magical contrivances in his stories. So for years after his series cancellation, Marvel found ways to keep him in around but in check. He sells his soul. He loses the title of Sorcerer Supreme. He gets mind controlled. Etc. All so he doesn't overpower the baddies too easily in crossover books and whatnot.
Now, post Secret Wars we get our first Dr. Strange ongoing in over a decade. They have a chance to do just about anything in the wake of SW, since reality's been rewritten. Start over fresh. And what do they go with? Aaron's Strange isn't powerful. He gets called "the worst sorcerer supreme ever." He doesn't do the big scale magic of classic Strange or even the minor stuff like the Crimson Bands. Instead his magic largely becomes a matter of utility (teleporting, flight, etc) new stuff that's a bit atonal to old Dr. Strange comics, like all this pain-shifting business, and then for most combat sequences just summoning a magic weapon and hitting things with it. And the story ends with Strange powerless and all magic gone, freeing Marvel up to rebuild its universe's concept of magic from the ground up with a new Strange who's more of a loveable screwup with unreliable powers that fuck him over, as opposed to the arcane juggernaut he used to be.
Seems to me like the old 1996 mindset has won out at Marvel Editorial, that people don't like Strange stories where he's too powerful and his magic ill-defined, and they want him to show up in crossover stuff more easily, so they've knocked him down to Earth a fair bit and this will be the new normal going forward.
It seems so.
Like Bendis Guardians or early New 52 Squad it seems like a way to make the franchise palatable for movies/ movie fans.
>>85190036
They have to tone him down so they can scale him to how powerful he is in the movie.
>>85190195
I wonder about that. We haven't seen strange do much magic in the trailers yet, but it's telling that when he's fighting he seems to be fighting in melee. There's one shot of him trading blows with Mads Mikkelsen in the middle of a city that's rebuilding itself, and another shot of him fighting up close with some sort of energy whip while Mads wields some sort of mace or something. Mordo carries a sword. In the movie prequel comic, all the magical combat was basically just martial arts with some glowy effects added on.
I get the feeling Movie Strange will be powerful because he can teleport through space and dimensional barriers, fly, create shields, astral project, etc, but his actual offensive capabilities will be limited. I think it'll be a lot like the magic in JMS' "Beginnings and Endings" which was in a similar vein, and which the animated movie was based on. Lots of magical lightsabers with a bit of magical shields and a few energy blasts.
I doubt this will be a Strange who can level a building with a spell or casually chuck enemies into another dimension, or imprison whole crowds of people with the Icy Tendrils of Ikthalon or something.

>>85189898
Yes, I just don't participate on the threads because they are weird.
Remember me, /co/?
You're that movie with lots of powered kids but for some reason story was focused on bunch of irrelevant oldtimers?
>>85189753
Yeah, i tried to convince myself that you were good for months.
>>85189753
Yes
I enjoyed you very much
Even though you sucked ass
I am so damn glad DC didn't cave into hipster nostaliafags and designed post-crisis Superman's costume without the retarded outside underwear.
Guaranteed (You)s, senpai.
>>85189695
Say what you will about the underwear but the blue boots are inexcusable.

I really want to love Vote Loki but...
THE ART IS SO BAD!
Worse then Squirrel girl bad.
>>85189100
I generally prefer cleaner inks but that doesn't look particularly bad. Just kind of mediocre.
>>85189100
why the fuck does loki look like some neet pedo that lives in a cheap motel?
On a scale of 1-10, why haven't you added all YA books to your pull list?
Doom Patrol will sell without me
I'll wait for trade
Shade though
I'm all about
>>85188838
I'm pulling DP and Cave Carson
I'm not really that interested in Mother Panic, and I really feel like I should read Vertigo Shade before buying the new Shade.
>>85188838
I don't like Way using Jane
I haven't read Shade The Changing Man and would like to read that before Shade, The Changing Girl(yes, I know it's most likely not required, but I'm weird like that)
Cave Carson sounds great, but I hate Oeming
Mother Panic sounds nice and has GOAT art team of Tommy Lee Edwards and John Paul Leon. I hope what I heard about Shawn Crystal also doing art for it isn't true, that guy sucks and while TLE and JPL have a somewhat similar style, Crystal's issues will look especially awful next to them.
Am I forgetting something? Anyway, I hope YA turns out great.
So just tell me then you can delete this thread of necessary. What WAS her deal? Was she just pissed that the humans made Gods into mere mythos orrrr...?
Is that important?
