General marinade/basting thread?
Pic related.
that combo sounds horrible
glaze your poultry with a bit of orange juice or marmalade that's been imbued with a dash of clove.
orange + clove isn't just to make a cool ornament. it's a neat flavor too.
>>7132500
That's a delicious combo. Used to do it all the time with chicken wings.
Is there anyway to differentiate hunger due to insufficient calories and insufficient nutrients?
if not, whats a nice stirfry/sauteed mix of veggies I could make to fulfill daily required nutrients?
i'm pretty sure nutrient deficiencies make you crave specific foods, not just eat in general.
if you've got scurvy, you'll want to eat greens and fruit. if you've got anemia, a big juicy steak.
as to what to eat to ensure you get everything? cruciferous group: broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, etc. they have everything.
>>7132476
As long as your 5 recommended daily veggie servings don't come from pizza, you'll be fine.
>>7132502
thanks, im trying to plan my meals now that im losing weight to be more efficient, every day im on a 500cal deficit but find some days are a breeze and some days are suffering and i cant pinpoint why
i suppose ill include veggies during breakfast since i dont give a shit about breakfast foods

What sort of kitchen knife would be good for someone with shaky fucked up hands? I was thinking of something like pic-related, but I don't know if there are any better options out there. Do I just have to resign myself to using a food processor for everything?
Along those same lines, how the heck do you maintain/sharpen a decent edge on a knife without a steady hand?
>>7132427
y so shaky bro
it's actually a good product.
of course it can only chop things that are already small though.
>>7132427
Search for information about "adaptive knives".
You can send out your knives for sharpening, but honing them might be harder.
Hey /ck/ I'm only able to eat 1100 calories a day because I have to become a spooky skelebones for wrestling. What are some of your suggestions that are low cal yet delicious to eat?

I have about 40 perfectly legal turtle eggs in my fridge.
What recipes does /ck/ recommend I try out? How about a turtle egg soufflé or an omelet?
>>7132290
Aboriginal spotted.
>>7132290
why is your fridge made of sand
Poached is good.
Have you tried this? It goes on everything. I can't believe it took me this long to "discover" it. It might be the next memefood.

How do I make biscuits and gravy?
>>7132167
Don't.
>>7132167
make biscuits, make gravy, put gravy over biscuits with a fried egg on the side (or inside)
>>7132167
-fry sausage
-drain fat
-add butter
-salt/pepper to taste
-make roux
-add milk mixed with cream
-whisk throughly
-stir sauce until thickened
I put cayenne pepper in my gravy, I like spicy food.
Google a good biscuit recipe, icba to find one for you.

>I make up shit fucking no one does so we can all circlejerk about how much better we are than those people who don't exist in the first place
Quality thread, OP.
Also, to play devil's advocate, please explain how this is substantially different from eating steak as it's own dish
I'm looking for a whetstone
But i dont really know what grit i should go for.
I'd mainly use it for my Miyabi 7000D made of CMV60 steel, but also for other cheap knifes.
I would have went for a 3000 + 8000 grit, is that too much?
What are some good whetstone brands?
Holy shit is /ck/ being raided by knifeforums this week?
>>7132048
its all me, but nobody responds.
so i keep creating threads until i got an answer
>>7132057

How many slices of salami would you use if you were making a salami sandwich? Pretend you dont have any veggies or cheese. Its just meat and bread with mayo or mustard.
1 layer covering the entire length of bread stacked on top of each other with half inch spacing
Depends on how big the bread is
>>7131981
and the salami.
regular deli sized hard salami slices I put like 5 and some mustard. probably my favorite sandwich.
I have around 15 overripe harry & david pears. what can i do with them?
I've googled some muffin and sauce recipes, but other ideas welcome. I rather not throw them out since they're really tasty, I just have a hard time eating so many in a short period of time.
>>7131959
Harry and David is a shite chocolatier, I didn't know they went into farming.
Just eat them
-pear butter
-you could still make a balsamic-onion sauce with them, just peel and core as best you can and throw them in with the onions after they've caramelized a bit. The sauce will be thick and chunky but will still taste the same
-puree in a blender and spread it smoothly on a parchment-lined baking sheet, bake at a low heat in the oven until it turns to fruit leather
-pear vinaigrette for salads
