It is not a thing, it is at most a desperation meal. The only time in my 26 years I've heard of it being a thing of choice is when some lardasses on facebook were trying to lose 90lbs through keto alone talking about how he had to fry his lady up a selection of ground beef flavors for her midnight snack.

My mom used to make ground beef in a pan with onions. She would also make a sauce out of the fat, some broth and flour. Maybe she put in some cream to. We'd eat it with some potatoes. It was alright.
