Habbening memer checking in.
I realize that from a finance perspective there isn't necessarily cause for panic quite yet.
But habbeners tend to view things from an economics angle rather than finance. And theres a lot of economic reason to believe that we are tetering on the edge of a crash.
The finance world can adjust to cheap oil. The real world economies that stock exchanges exist in probably cannot.
One of the only booming industries in the US was oil, but the US industry isn't likely to be profitable under $30. Since saudi production is $9/bbl, the US Industry will mostly likely liquidate. But where is that capital going? What's the next bull market? Biotech, maybe. We'll see if that pans out in the next couple days, but I have doubts. Green energy could probably boom if oil wasn't so cheap.
The reason we are in this predicamint is because the Federal Reserve's monetary policy encourages these booms and busts. The fed has kept rates absurdly low for years. The only way they could stop free fall in 2008 was to cause an unnatural amount of speculation. This gives the illusion of growth. Cheap money eats into savings to fuel bubbles. You can only do this for so long. Eventually there are no savings left. Thats the situation we are in right now. We've burned through all of our savings on boom & bust markets. The jig is up and now we have to face the reality that resources in our economy have been atrociously allocated for decades.
Not as fucked as europe though. The US and Asia can probably weather this. They'll come out beaten and scared, but they'll make it. IMO Europe is going to really suffer to its core in the coming years. The continent could emerge fundementally different.
Cool story bro. Did u buy ethereum yet?
>>1052045
Nope should I? BTC will probably surge if QE4 happens. More so if the Euro goes belly up. But really any currency that isn't being devalued by desparate governments is going to look pretty damn attractive
Fuck my shit up, I'm about to do some serious job hunting.
I am mainly interested in RF, hardware design, network architecture, and willing to accept QA positions if that's how I get my foot in the door.
anyone?

looks fine, one page, no bullshit - right to the point.
Ask someone who was almost ripped off by a fake Forex prop trading firm anything.

How did it happen?
Details? Story?

Give me a minute, typing it up now.

Okay, so some asshole from Daily FX forums inboxes me saying that he liked the trades I posted and wanted to know if I'd be interested in managing 500K - 1M pounds. I said sure, but that I wasn't comfortable with my profitability as of yet.
Six more months go by and he asks if I'd be interested in managing 150K instead to get comfortable, I say that I'm still not where I need to be. This is where they offer me their 'educational program', which I offer to pay for by writing site content.
Well, I wrote them a few blog posts and now they're being quite elusive about how much I might manage, how long it will take to get there, and how exactly to do it. But oddly enough my 'mentor' did mention that other people pay him 1000 pounds a month for 5 hours of mentoring per week.
At that point I decided they were looking to fuck me.
I have an idea for online retailers such as Amazon, and I was wondering how I can make money off of this. Something like 2% off each sale involving the idea.
How to/If to pitch to them? How to go about doing this? How to protect it?
It is a method of sales/shipping combination, in the grey zone between them, that I'm about 95% certain nobody has in place at the moment. And I'm completely certain that everyone would love the idea.
I want a cut though because reasons.
Any ideas /biz/?
Keeping it obviously vague for obvious reasons.
>inb4 you actually get a room with Amazon, tell them your idea, and they say they've already thought of it, it's logistically retarded, and throw you out
>>1051825
I actually have a family member who's pretty high up over at Amazon. Can't think of any way that helps you though.
>>1051833
Chances are they will say they already have the idea, and then steal it. No way they will give you a life long cuc of the cash. Better off trying to get a job there, and pitch the idea, IMHO. Or start a startup that will allow you to sell them the tech...
I want to practice with stocks for a while.
What online stock simulator would you guys recommend?
They all work the same, just choose one. What a worthless question.
You really are a loser

It's called a pencil and a piece of paper. With it, you're not limited to any stupid system and can trade anything that you want to.
What are the must read books on investing and entrepreneurship/
>>1050872
Everything investing can be found on Investopedia. The information on that website you can use to become rich.
For entrepreneurship idk lol there's a ton of trash self-help books that pretty much tell you to take a good amount of risk and open up any type of business to get a feel on how one operates.
Sooo for entrepreneurship I say just jump into it and get your feet wet. Make mistakes and then fix them.
There really aren't any. Entrepreneurship and Investing are in a sense meaningless terms. They are too broad to codify.
It's even broader than asking something like, "what's a good book on furniture?"
Well, what kind of furniture? Are you building furniture? Designing? Restoring? Exporting? Importing? Flipping? What style? What materials? What era?
Unfortunately there is no book out there that will tell you what do. The good news is you already know what to do, don't you? You objectively know how to be successful. You know what successful people do.
You have to decide what niche you want to get into, study it, and implement.
I'd suggest figuring out what you want to do day in and day out and going after it. Find books in that specific area and read.
As for more general works, here's a few I read: Entrepreneur Revolution, Entrepreneur - How to Start an Online Business, The Lean Startup, How to Win.
Good luck
I don't know, here's a better webm though.
Okay guys I really need help as I know nothing about anything.
I, for once, have an extra $1,000 USD. I'm 22 in a week. My vehicle is unregistered and will barely crank. I have a licence and no felonies. Also, in Florida.
I want to invest. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Tired or living in shit, thanks.
Bump.
Meant to say tired of living in shit, as I've been doing it all my life.
Hell, even advice on where to get financial advice would be kick ass.
>flrodia
Invest in a street legal motorcycle, they are cheap and have good ileage. Also, attend community college using state funancial aid. After 24 credits, or 1-2 years(both are fine depending on your work schedule), transfer to a uni.
Only take classes at a pace that youcan get a 3.4 gpa min from. 3.6 preffered.
Then transfer to a uni on a loan.
Oh, and you choose unversities based on:
Price divided by internship oppurotunities/connections.
Will the collapse in oil lead to a new energy sector? Could nuclear or solar or something else take over as oil is worthless at this point?
Why would oil collapse? It's still used by the millions and billions in our every day life. There's just so much being produced that it's becoming too cheap. I would say that oil will be around for quite a while at this rate. Look out for when oil prices start rising rapidly, that's when we'll have to find alternative energy sources
No, the opposite mate.
The cheaper oil is, the longer it stays in business.
The more expensive it is, the more interest in alternative energy there will be.
>>1050664
the entire industry is collapsing. People being laid off, oil is just not where it's at anymore. Plus most countries are trying to get off of it.
I have until August to make $5000
It needs to be made legally and I don't have a car
I live in New Hampshire and I'm in college
Is investing in stocks or whatever worth it? If not, what are my options?

I'm in your boat, I need to make 10k for some medical procedures by summer.
There are really high returns in puts/calls (options), but unless you're a quick learner and really motivated, good luck.
Hey, /biz/
Explain to me how 'removing regressive healthcare' will give us $32 trillion?
>>1049655
Woops, forgot to say please, sorry
Because a politician said so. Why would he lie?
>>1049666
Well what is meant by regressive healthcare?
And how does a single-payer system cost less?
It seems to me Sanders' researcher didn't factor in how much medical developments cost that drives the price as high as it is
I lived with my parents for a year and half and saved 45k. I want to buy a house for around 100k, probably a bit less. I plan on putting 20k down payment, 5k for inspection and miscellaneous closing costs (probably a bit high I hope). I have 10k in retirement accounts, mostly Roth IRA so I can get that out if need be, and 10k in taxable accounts in a balanced index fund portfolio I'll have to mostly liquidate so I have cash, hopefully the stock market starts rebounding. I'm saving about 2k a month and bring in around 2.2k a month so I don't make much. I also would hope to get a paying roommate or put my place on AirBnB and stay with my parents that night.
Is this a good plan? I want to move out and get some skin the game while interest rates are low. My job is probably fairly safe, and I'm making so little that I'm confident I could another job paying at least as much as I'm making now. Also I have a 742 credit score and its only going up. If worse comes to worse I could probably get by on minimum wage working as much as I possibly could because the payments on the house with tax and insurance should be around 500 dollars.
Also if I move my Dad says he would be happy to be a landlord. This new house would be less than 2 miles from work so I would be able to take the bus very easily or ride a bike and I'd save a lot of money on gas and car repairs compared to the 26 mile round trip commute I have to make every day now.

Oh and I have no other debt (full scholarship so I don't feel quite so stupid for not majoring in STEM or accounting).

Oh and I forgot to mention in my market renting a comparable place, 2br1ba would be anywhere from 800-1200 dollars. The neighborhoods I'm looking for are those that are improving and property values are rising more quickly than anywhere else in the city. Basically one of those urban core neighborhoods that have been neglected until now where gentrification is slowly spreading.
/biz/ tips? save time by fapping under 5 minutes
I fap while talking to clients on the phone.
No joke I have literally watched porn while talking to a client and accidentally made a grunting noise as I ejaculated.

who else /do this/ here?
A few tips.
>inherit money
>win the lottery
>rob a casino and somehow get away with it
These are your best options for becoming wealthy.
Would it be wise to diversify into commodities funds right now?
>>1051695
If the keyword right there is "diversify"
Then yes, Id say go for it.
Doesn't it make sense to move into Oil for 4-5 yr position, I mean, its practically guaranteed to move back to triple digits..right? Probably better returns than I'd get in a market based index fund.
>>1051748
>its practically guaranteed to move back to triple digits..right?
No, we have more oil on the market now thanks to shale and the tar sands. $60 would probably be more realistic.
Would anyone want to help me I'm currently applying for Ronald Mcdolands scholarship and its asking me to do some essays.
I'll greatly appreciate it if so:
