I start school in 8 months for accounting (financial), but I only have an average understanding of it. What book(s) could I buy to get started? I want to get a head start so that I don't look stupid.

Also, does anyone have any experience in forensic accounting? What's it like?

So I'm sure /biz/ has already heard about the referendum that will be held in Switzerland this year. If it succeeds the Swiss will apparently all get an unconditional basic income of 2500 Franks per month.

What economic impact would this have? Will all the free monies accelerate demand and hence bring economic growth?
Also, with people being able to spend more won't the prices just go up like crazy and hence deminish the effect of the free income?

I suspect Switzerland may be the only country that could maybe pull it off since they have heavy immigration laws - it will cut heavily into tax though so they will need to be pretty careful with it - pretty unlikely the government could pay out 2500 francs a month to every citizen because that's more than a lot of people earn working. No workers means no taxes amd essentially they will fuck the whole system. It is too early for a universal income yet.
>>
>>1049751
Couldn't you just tax consumer goods, which will undoubtetly be in more demand, more heavily to even it out?
Which would lead us back to my question of rising prices and the effect of it being deminished in the first place.
>>

>>What economic impact would this have?

positive, the only unknown is what it does to inflation

google "income elasticity of demand" , the new money will be spent mostly on luxuries , housing and neccesities wont see a boon (I only need one house / one car / one bag of carrots from the grocer)

The luxury needs boon dies off as people adjust spending to account for the new money but it wont all be credit card debt, plenty will start small businesses and such as well (this part from the small scale studies done so far)

It also improves health and lowers addiction rates

Listen up you little dickbeaters: Never buy a commodity or equity that doesn't move at least the value of the square root of its price in a year.

Quit dreaming of spider tattoos on your tiny cock and think about investing only in equities that have the highest ROI in their sector. Re-deploy regularly.

Finally, buy strength and sell weakness. You know about "weakness" like when you drop your skinny jeans and whip your skeeter to tranny porn as you stroke your little "furry" buttplug.

Alright, first of all hey. I'm new to this board and just came on here to ask a few questions.

My situation: I'll be graduating school this year and then heading into uni. The only problem is, that I don't know what I want to study. I've been thinking about studying economics or finance. The thing is, economics in my country (Germany) is called BWL and many say its the thing people study who aren't really good at anything and want to make lots of money. But I'm actually interested in economy and everything with it, Im really into the stock market and find it incredibly interesting as well. I'm an average student and not bad at maths, so that wouldn't be a problem.
So I'd like to ask what your experiences have been, from people who have studied this kind of thing.
Thanks for reading and all of the answers and troll answers!

I bought $270 worth of business leads from investor leads, but I have no needs for them. It's all accredited investors name+phone number, but I need emails.

It's investors from NY, TX, and FL. So it's 270 worth, trying to sell it for 180. Is anyone interested? All ran through the national no call list and guaranteed to be real. It also comes with 250 free ones, 1750 total.

I have a bachelors degree in Finance with a concentration in accounting.

Im thinking of going back to school to get my masters in accounting

Im thinking of going for my CPA

I looked up a website that offers sample questions for the CPA and I thought i could study up for it while im waiting to start school. and man, these are hard, i have almost no idea what they are talking about.

Do I just need more accounting experiance? Ive been away from school for a while.

How do you study for this thing??

This test seems like it would be a beast to pass.

Also, if I have a CPA what exactly does that mean for my career prospects, could I get any accounting job I wanted? Im not looking to be a personal accountant I just want to get an easy accounts payable gig. Is a finance degree enough for this, i have no actual accounting experience

It has almost a 60% failure rate.

I've passed BEC after failing it once.
Failed REG and going to take it again next month.
Then I'll have two more sections to go I hope to finish by the end of summer.

I'm using pirated Becker.
It is really hard dude. Comparable to the Bar or RN exams.
>>

>It has almost a 60% failure rate.

/CFA/-fag here, you think in the wrong terms. It has 40% pass rate, and you aim for relative, rather than absolute, performance.

Plenty of Indians and Chinese that barely speak English to skew your performance.

How much time has passed since you got your bachelors? What tier school are you looking at to get your masters? Are you looking to do public (I am assuming) or private accounting? CPA exams are not that hard if you put the time into them. Of the accountants I know that passed the exams all put in about 100 hours per exam and did all of the Becker material. They passed all the exams the first time. Those that I know failed (some sections multiple times) put in a lot less effort. So the question is how much effort do you want to put it? Also aas your Finance degree from an AACSB accredited school or would you have to take a lot of prereqs? Most large companies look for this accreditation and so do the big four.

>Average Niggerian wage per year = 3.000USD
>Average Chinese wage per year = 6.000USD
>Average Colombian wage per year = 8.000USD

>cost of having 1k colombian factory workers = 8 Million dollars
>cost of having 1k niggerian factory workers = 3 Million dollars

Take into account niggeria is the second biggest black african economy behind south africa.

>Cost of average american factory worker = 45k a year
Going for the low cost, really, as some american workers cost easily 60-80k a year.

>Cost of having 1k american workers one year = 45 Million dollars

It's basic math burgers.
Unless you cheapen out your wages, you can't compete.

You could literally increase chinese exports by a huger margin and still would be cheaper just to keep having chinese workers or lol, move them to cheaper countries.

Hell, you could hire an uganda worker an entire year and it will cost less than 200UDS a month.

There's currently 2 Billion people living with less than 2dollars per day.

>Cost of average american factory worker = $45K a year

Really?

http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=Assembly_Line_Worker,_Factory/Hourly_Rate

I get about $25K per year.

While I'm not going to challenge the main point: I will point out that locating factories in China or Nigeria is going to greatly increase the overhead in other ways. The level of bribes you have to pay in highly corrupt third world nations seriously eats into profits. Additionally, if America is your target consumer, shipping costs money. This can be insignificant (if you're manufacturing iPhones) or prohibitive (if you're manufacturing cars,) and the present distribution of American manufacturing reflects this.
>>
>>1048644

Don't forget how many Nigerians it takes to manufacture something compared to an American; wage costs vs labor costs. Then you've also got the infrastructure costs, political stability risks...

Also let's not forget training the worker. Good luck getting them to assemble something efficiently that they have never used in their life and didn't know existed until a week ago
>>
Good luck when the Nigerian gov takes your factory or when that cheap labor steals your materials or cant even show up to work.

Like Mr Wonderful says.... "Money goes to where it feels safe" no one will ever say this but real non corrupt money attracts to the people with the most integrity and the ones that are morally superior. Lying, cheating, and stealing is never works in the long term and thats why no money goes to Africa, because you cannot trust those animals. People think giving money to them will help, ha a proper philosophical base is what is needed to turn Africa around aka capitalism

But the peace corps would never think of doing that

So /biz/ I'm going into the military.

Assuming I spend as little as possible while I'm in for 5 years, which should be pretty easy to do with what I'll be provided, what should I do with the money I save while I'm in?

Save up for the 20 years of therapy you'll need after you get out so you might have a miniscule chance of reintegrating with society and being a normal human again by the time you die.
That is, if it doesn't kill you before you get out and you simply fade into obscurity as nobody ever remembers you and you never manage to do anything or accomplish anything with your life.
It's a good thing that with just about every other job being replaced with automation that we still can convince people into self population control err... I mean putting boots on the ground!
