Senior in high school right now. I've had the privilege of attending a private high school owned by a university, so for my junior and senior years, I've had the opportunity to take some college courses.

Summer 2015, I took Introductory macro, and then took introductory micro in the fall 2015. Spring 2016 I took Empirical Economics I. Summer 2016 I was busy with college apps and the sort so I didn't take any summer courses, but fall 2016 I doubled up on Econ and took Empirical Economics II and Intermediate Micro. Now in Senior Spring I'm taking Intermediate Macro and Statistics for Economists.

Over the summer, if I take another course, this will mean I have taken 8 semesters of economics during my time in high school.

Now, when I get to college, I have a lot of path opportunities with this syllabus. I've been really interested in finance since sophomore year, when I realized I'd probably make a shitty engineer because I didn't like Chemistry or Physics, and Biology junior year was also boring for me.

Now, I have a few questions:
1. Is an economics degree a good major? I was thinking of combining math and econ in university.
2. Should I take a gap year? My mom has been recommending I take one, even though i know what my major is, because she wants me to develop more as a person. She thinks I should travel around a bit more and get to learn more places.
3. Should I take any languages? Normally, in junior year we take language and science as college courses, but i voided language requirements by taking AP german. I speak near-fluent German and I'm really good at learning languages (I did well in Latin freshman and sophomore year and Spanish in middle school). If so, what languages would you recommend?
4. Should I consider taking any courses in finance or accounting to add onto my knowledge of Econ, or just keep progressing in Econ?

Thanks anons!

Join the airforce.
just put in four years, do something interesting and save your money while in.
Do not let your parents persuade you into pursuing college until you are 100% fucking sure what you want to study.
Else you end up like me in professional school for a career you hate and constantly terrified of your future.
If I were to do everything over again at the age of 18 (I fucking wish) I would follow my tips above.

>Will probably buy a house using a VA loan sometime in December or January

It's not bad. Also I think Trump is playing around with FHA right now so you should double check on that.
>>
>>1796853
Actually I plan on joining the Nation Guard in the summer so a VA loan would be pretty dank.

Maybe I can just hold off however many months it would take me for me to go to basic and keep renting with the riffraff until then. Every day though coming home I get more depressed about the plebs I live with.
>>
>>1796857

You qualify after basic. It's up to 175k nothing down, and 20% down for anything beyond that. Base interest rate is 2.75%, 3.5% if you're doing a jumbo loan.

What I'm probably going to do is buy a house at my first duty station (Coast Guard, so a major port city possibly somewhere tropical or subtropical) and rent it out during the summers while I live in the barracks.

4 weeks ago while browsing through /biz, I came up with a brilliant business idea, all thanks to you goys.

I registered a corporation.

I built a website.

I drafted some simple legal documents/emails/etc that I will be using on a daily basis as part of this business idea.

And yesterday, I got a phone number + fax, and virtual office for the business.

I am almost ready to launch.

This idea is relatively simple (but has a lot of potential), and the only twist is that it is rather difficult to pull off all by yourself. Ideally you need a small number of partners.

My last step before launching this business idea, was to recruit some /biz and maybe /pol NEETS and give them 49% ownership of the company in exchange for their cooperation in the business (they wouldn't have to give me any money for equity, rather the would have to invest their "time").

But then I thought about it.

>inb4 I am a shill.
>inb4 pyramid scheme.
>inb4 pay me or fuck off shill
>inb4 he felt for the entrepreneur meme
>inb4 let me keep wagecucking/NEETing for a living dude lmao!

Am I wrong /biz? I am a fellow /biz-nessman and just like you I don't have (((financing))) options, but this idea has a lot of potential and the only thing it requires is human capital and time.

I wanted to extend out my hand to my fellow NEETs with an opportunity to be part of a business with a lot of potential.

And yet... I think most NEETs would probably tell me to fuck off and call me a faggot, which might force me to pull off this business idea mostly by myself (difficult but possible).

What should I do?

Are there any NEETs here that would be willing to sell their time in exchange for being part of a corporation that can grow exponentially? Oh yeah and the company will have a hooker raffle like in the wolf of wall st.

You haven't even said what the time investment would involve.
>>
>>1796288
Count me in, mail [email protected], that's a real mail just a throwaway
>>
>>1796288

This is such a bad idea and will fail.

These NEETs aren't selling their time, they're giving you their time.

How many NEETs do you need?

How will the company be structured? How will "ownership" be divvied? Will ownership only transfer once a NEET has "invested" x amount of time?

What happens when a NEET says fuck this bullshit, what happens to their ownership?

Honestly, just figure out a way to automate your processes as much as possible and go it alone for now. Only AFTER some success has been had should you invite others to join the enterprise.

I've been building a stock market predicting program for about a year now, using a yahoo api to collect prices. Basically, it finds about 20 or so stocks which are likely to have a higher price tomorrow than they do today. Based on my simulations of the 2015 year in trading, with just the price of stocks, I would have seen a return of just over 150%. But I know nothing about the cost of trading, like brokers and taxes and such.

I was wondering what the best course of action would be if I wanted to sell off all of my shares and buy a new set of stocks daily. How much do I expect to pay for a broker/online service? Where is the best place to do this trading? and where do I start?

Most importantly, since the stock prediction is entirely automated, if I could also automate the trading that would be ideal. Recommendations?

A few things to consider (all of these things assume you're in the US):

If you are regularly day trading, FINRA requires you to have a minimum equity balance of $25,000. Google "pattern day trader" for the specifics.

Most discount brokers charge less than $10 per trade, so if you're trading decently large blocks of stock, this isn't that significant of a cost. A lot of people here recommend Robinhood, which has no trading commissions. I've never used it, so I can't say if its any good or not.

Any time you sell a stock that you've held for less than one year, you'll pay capital gains taxes at your marginal income tax rate. Any capital losses you realize can be used to offset capital gains.

That's very helpful. I've been reading about the day trading rules for a while already, but I'm wondering if you hold a security at the end of one trading day, and sell it the next, do these rules still apply?

I'm a broke as shit medical student. I wrote this as a pet project. I don't have $25,000 to invest so that could be an issue. I definitely won't be making enough from the project (at least right now) to be subject to capital gains tax.

I'll look into Robinhood.
>>
>>1795698
robinhood is retarded for day trading, yeah no fees but they fuck you otherways.. i'd try to save up 25k then go for it...15% returns is like ponzi scheme shit lol.. i got 8% returns on my index funds this year soooo... if you could actually predict stocks and had a program like that you could start a hedge fund and invest for rich ass niggas..

Loaned a bunch of money to a felon to expand his business. I only made like 5k on the deal but it allowed him to expand to the point where he's now got several employees and he can take home 40k a year. Feels good that I was able to help him when commercial banks wouldn't lend to him. He certainly got the better end of it but he also did all the work.

I'd buy 3 condo's in Scottsdale AZ for $170k a piece and rent them out for $1,200p/m - possibly $2kp/m fully furnished in peak winter season - and if the market bounces back I'll sell them each for about $400k which is what they were selling for about 10 years ago. If the market doesn't bounce back they can't sink much lower than they are now so I'd be able to sell them for about purchase cost if needed. But it's a cozy way to earn $3k-$6k p/m have a nice day
>>
>>1797557

* sorry I should have said,

draw down $500k ONLY from stocks/bonds, paper wealth

Is there a better idea than having $500k in an S&P500 tracker, autisticly selling 4% a year on January 1st
>>
>>1797559
Good luck on getting 4% a year in the coming depression once the rich realize theres no one left to buy their overvalued shit. The last great depression took 25 years to recover.

What should I look for when choosing a name for a company. I'm young and about to open a real estate agency in Luxembourg (western europe). (Got the license etc.)

I've done some construction work in Luxembourg and from what I've encountered here are the rules:

>Name must be ALL CAPS because that's super professional
>Name must be French even if most of your employees speak german
>You want to put "LUX" somewhere in your name - doesn't matter where
>You must be an S.A. - there are literally no other forms out there

So here is my suggestion:

AGENCE MAISONLUX S.A.

I am living in Australia at the moment. I got a job few days ago has something to do with investment. They told me about the task but there's something obviously suspicious thing that I hardly understand. They said I need to use my own bank account to do the task. They would transfer money to my account and I need to withdraw those cash then put them into designated deposit. They said they have not enough bank accounts for someone who's on trial period. (I am on the trial period).
And they said I would get 5% of the transferred money + salary next month.
The thing I'm worrying is if this company is something about crime and if I would be guilty for transferring those money.

Robinhood Gold. Worth it? I understand you need $2000 to be able to get it. Can you really get it for $10/month? Seems worth it to access pre- after- hours trading. Also, does your total portfolio have to stay over 2k? What if your stocks go down and total portfolio dips under 2k? Does your gold get temporarily cancelled or what?

Bump, I don't get the point of it either
>>
I have recently started using gold.
I could really care less about the extended trading hours. The great thing is doubling your profits(and losses)

Also if you are not a robinhood instant user you will basically have an instant account so you can sell and reinvest more often. No more waiting around for 3 days for your deposit or to reinvest your money while that 33 dollar in you saw shoots up to 45.

Sorry I cannot answer your question because I have alot more than I have on margin. Though in my case when i invest i have to own i think 65% of the stock with my money and the rest is Robinhoods money. then it can go down to 45% my money and I will still be okay without a margin call.

NEET here. What are some ways to make serious money without valuable skills, or multiplying money? So no freelance or investing.
I've spent a little bit over 2 weeks on research, started as a bottom feeder but I'm ready to move on. I'll list a bit:
surveys: UK/USA/AUS worth it for extra money, outside only few sites out of hundreds will give you >$5
offer(walls) - shit, even for USA
running ads 24/7 - meh, can net you some nice extra money if you are from USA
running slave errands for people - too luck based, can be decent extra money if you are lucky, i made $100 in 2 weeks
random - a bit of "translation" here and there, "user-testing" for pennies, all luck, can make $0.10 or few dollars in very little time.
If you want to make serious money any of those ways, you need an army of referrrals, or slave away like it's your day job.

Does anyone here have experience with some more halfway "serious" stuff, like transcription/content mills/translation etc? I figured it'd be nice to earn some more money than few dollars if i'm lucky.
Of course if you know of something more profitable like being a seo cuck, or scamming people by making them click something i'm interested too.

at your current point the next leg up would be acquiring things for cheap and reselling them.

This is an extremely slow process based on how willing you are to travel and how in depth you want to ship things to people.
