I've heard that knowing how to play golf is a good way to make friends in the office. My dad used to work in an office and was on the golf team and made a lot of good contacts for his network through it, both from his team and from others.
As a sophomore in college, how can I learn to golf? Are there workshops, lessons, or should I just take a swing at my local driving range every now and then and maybe talk to people there?

But anyway here's what you do:

call a golf club and ask about lessons. Try to take 10 from a good pro.
Then pick up a few golf magazines, they have tips.
You need to at least be able to hit the ball square and drive it 100 yards if you are gonna play with other people, because if you can't hit the ball at all and go out with other guys they will get annoyed.
But yeah for business, sales, entreprenuership, golf can open many doors.

First of all, you have a lot to learn, young grasshopper.
You will never affect either of your credit scores.
What situations you may run into is if you wanted to buy a house together, for example. You may buy the house under her name, under your name, or together. If you buy together, the underwriter will consider both of your income and use the least of your credit scores, which would you you, son.
However, if she makes enough money to get the house you want, the mortgage underwriter can simply look at her credit score and her income ALONE, and decide to go through with the mortgage.
Short answer, your credit score disparity doesn't mean anything until you try to finance something against a combined income. As soon as you try to get your paycheck/dollars involved, your credit comes into scope. If she makes enough to do something on her own without your income, then they would only consider her credit score.
You do realize that at the end of six months a military deployment is going to leave more money in your bank account than your civilian job probably will, right?

I want to be paid what I'm worth, and if I'm going to be held to the expectations of an owner then I want to be made an owner. My grandfather agrees with this, but my parents (mom) refuses the conversation since I've started to bring it up (and my dad obviously can't fully conceptualize it). I'm thinking of bringing my grandfather (and possibly another family member) to the negotiation table before tax day to figure this all out. If we are unable to come to terms then business A would go to absolute shit and business B would under perform.
Could I get some thoughts and advice please?
