Of one of them was vegan it would've won probably.
Or not.
Probably not.
Okay, so, I've been researching walruses to make sure I'm ready for an upcoming game, but I've been completely unable to find the answer to a question.
Do walrus tusks grow back if broken or lost?
I've searched, but pretty much any actual answer comes uncited from some shithead on Yahoo or something. Any other walrus facts are more than welcome, too.
No. Walrus tusks are modified teeth. If they break their tusk it won't grow back.
>>2026750
From what I read, it's a little of column A and column B.
If they outright loose a tusk at the root, that's it, shit's gone forever.
On the other hand, if it's just partially broken, it'll continue to grow from the root as normal. The end will still be fucked up of course, since tusks, like hair, grow from the root.
>>2026754
That doesn't mean the tooth is growing back. If a juvenile walrus breaks a tooth, it will continue to grow to its adult size. If an adult breaks a tooth nothing happens.
I think that their face is similar

Can anyone identify this lizard?
I live in Brisbane, Australia. It seemed to be a baby. It was slow moving and had soft, pinkish scales around the neck. It also had a blue tongue but was completely brown and white any stripes.
it's a skink.
>>2026490
Of course, but what kind? I mean, a blue tongue is a skink as well.
>>2026491
Tiliqua sp, probably adelaidensis
Considering feeding my dog a raw food diet. Need advice to not potentially kill my dog with either bacterial infection or eating to much organ meat. Not looking to go overboard initially like buying a meat grinder etc.
Just wanna know the basics. I got a chihuahua and a German Shepard.
Tell me your secrets.
don't take advice from this board with something so potentially lethal to your dogs. consult a licensed animal nutritionist
>>2026418
This, please OP. Even if you don't kill your dog, you could very easily deprive him of vitamins/minerals, or give him too much of something that could cause issues in later years.
If you want to go raw, please get a pre-packed, tested to have the right amounts of nutrition, raw diet from a pet shop or feed store.
The other day I found a rainbow lorikeet on the road. It was hurt or something. Few chest feathers message, little bit around the neck. I think it was tame or owned by someone before because it climbed up my arm and only my shoulder almost instantly. I got a decent sized cage, wet foot, dry food, a bell, a fruit hanger thing and some water for it. Is there anything I should know about lorikeets that isn't immediately obvious? I used to have a budgie when I was younger. His name was Tommy. He shit on my easter egg once.
try to contact its owner before you keep it

I just went out on my balcony and screamed, "WHO OWNS THIS BIRD?" but no one responded.
>>2026637
Well, you tried.
This is my dog. He is 13 years old and he's been given about a month to live. I have been taking pictures of him for the past 10 years, dressed up and in different locations in the U.S. This year he can hardly move and I would love to make a calendar of him at different places all over the world. I don't have photoshop, so if anyone with experience can help photoshop him in front of different landmarks all over the world that would be greatly appreciated. This will probably be his last calendar, so I want it to be awesome. Thank you
>tinfoil hat
9/11 superimposed edit please
My dog keeps scratching the base of her tail. Whenever there is something she can stand under and use to scratch herself, like for example the pull-out footrest of a couch, she will make full use of it. Sometimes when she does it she whimpers... I'm going to take her to the vet but what do you think it is? Normal behaviour or something else? She is a parson jack russel and 12 years old btw
Pic related
Probably an allergy of some sort. It's easy to diagnose via blood sample. It's also cheap, 75-100$.
Also, dogs that are predominantly white tend to have more allergies and skin conditions.
If your dog does have allergies you should let the breeder know.
Allergies, fleas, something else entirely. Take her to the vet.
>>2025902
There's a spot by dogs' tails they sometimes have troubles reaching with their teeth, and if it itches there, it can get them mad.
But if she's been doing that for a while and it doesn't pass, yes, vet.
This Was My Dog A Year Ago
Neat.

Well too bad he's dead
>>2025784
He's an ugly faggot and I hope his death was your fault.

>>2029678

Hate them, love them, don't care but let others get them? Some countries out right ban them like the UK.
Should GM animals that were created for research like gfp axolotls be available to the general public?
Should GMOs created solely for pets be permitted at all? (i.e. most of the glofish)
Should GMOs only be allowed for practical purposes like crop yields and environmentalism?
Personally I prefer a natural tank but I think glofish should be permitted and they can look quite nice if you embrace the colors.
Yes they should. Arguments stating they're not natural and that they were genetically engineered which is ethically wrong is completely false(purebred dogs), also they're not harmful or dangerous
>>2027666
I don't really like them because they're not natural but then I don't like goldfish for the same reason.
I don't care if other people like them. There's nothing wrong with them other than they're tacky.
>>2027666
Here's a dress made from the silk of silkworms which were given the same genes as a bunch of those fish.
Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

Sometimes I wished I lived just south of the border to enjoy shit like this. I live like just a 4 hours drive from the US.

nigga doesnt check his fish before buying them LMAO
Based puffer fish.
If evolution worked a certain way over millions of years, would we get dragons?
>>2024633
We basically got wingless dragons once.
Dragons wouldn't really be a successful animal. If it was, it'd probably look a lot different and less cool. It would also have to have either HUGE fucking wings or it'd be small.
>>2024633
Yes but it's just a theory. I'm looking at you komodo dragon and monitor lizard
>>2024633
If our planet had different atmosphere composition, or something, it'd also be possible for them to breathe fire.
I want to learn everything about birds. Any great documentaries about birds?
