hey /an/
A distant friend of mine has a cat she lets go outside (no matter how many times I tell her she still will let it outside) and lately saw these tiny red seed-like objects left behind the cat, especially when the cat sleeps.
The cat has been treated for worms orally three different times already, with three different medicines/methods each time, yet she still leaves them. The owner has thoroughly checked her fur and there are no signs of them, which has led them to believe that they come from the cat's anus.
In plain sight they look like tiny red seeds, but upon looking at them in a microscope, well... See for yourself.

TL:DR - How to keep a cat from peeing out of the litter box.
Hey /an/,
Can you help me with my cats? For a few months now, my white cat has been peeing places she shouldn't. At first I thought it was a medical thing, and after two trips to the vet, I found out she has crystals in her urine and started associating litter boxes with pain.
However, she has gotten better, and after some new food from the vet, she's been using a new litter box every now and again, but still continues to pee behind a trashcan or between couch cushions. Is there something I'm not noticing? A behavioral thing? Does anyone know of any home remedies for training her again? My wife is saying that if I can't get the cat trained soon, its off to the pound.
I'd hate to have to give her away if its something that can be avoided or bettered.

Seriously smack her on the rump when you see her or rub nose in it. Seems cruel but she won't do it again. I don't mean a hard smack. Just a quick hard tap that will scare the shit out of her.

Ignore this idiot.
You simply need to retrain your cat. Waiting months to take your cat to the vet made the problem much worse. Can you keep your cat in a bathroom with a box for a week or so?

Be a pussy all you want. That's the quickest way. Otherwise put her up for adoption.
Why are small children so reckless around animals? One of my co-workers decided to bring her kids to the raptor center today, and Pat had to tell them to be quiet about 3 times because they were frightening a hawk with their annoying little voices.
Pic unrelated, I don't have any pictures of these kids, so I went with that. They are 9 and 7 I believe.
Poor training. When I was a kid I would listen to command by my parents/teachers immediately. Very unlike white those white brats.

Kids are naturally curious. Telling them not to do something will only incite them to do it more to see what results from the action. Nonetheless they are demons.
By the first sentence I expected this experience to be much worse, like running into the cages or throwing things. Come back when you have to pry children off the cages off a mandrill cage.
Let's talk about dog breeds, and how they reflect on their owners. I'll start.
I've never met someone with a toy dog breed who I would consider friendable. There is always something a little ungrounded there.
Pic is my 8 month old Great Pyrenees taken just now.
Most people in my area with pits are degenerates or white trash that put in no effort to train or raise them.
Most people who will train and raise a dog propperly stay to other breeds because of reputation only caused by the neglectful owners.
I hate the idea of being lumped in with those trash even tho mine is a well bred, trained, beautiful coach potato.

Honestly, over the years, the only dog owners I like anymore are people I see out doing things with their dogs (like hiking, swimming, sports) and certain old people with very calm sweet dogs. With these people, breeds never mattered. I've met awesome Chihuahuas and GSD alike.

I live in a middle/high class area south of Nashville, TN. I see so many young women walking/jogging their pits along the main streets. The pitbull breeds seem to be a favorite amoung 20-something women here for whatever reason. And of all the ones I've encountered here, they're all complete sweeties. It really does all depend on the owner.
An what is this turtle doing. I need to know

My nearly-20-year-old cat has always hated other animals, so I brought her with me to a new apartment from my mother's house. However, my cat has lived in that house for nearly 20 years, and I'm not sure how to get her used to the idea of this apartment. I feel like she's waiting to go back home. Also, even though she always hated the other animals, I'm getting the impression that she enjoyed having animals to hate. She spends a lot of time laying underneath my bed instead of in my lap.
Anyone have experience moving cats or pets in general to a new home after living in the same one for so long? Am I worrying over nothing?
Try to at least have some familiar furniture layouts she can retreat to. I'm sure you have some blankets and mats she laid on from the old place, so just distribute those as appropriate. I mean, besides this and the obvious stuff the depend on schedules, like feeding and grooming, just give the cat time.
I misread this as my 20 yr old cat hates anime. i thought that cant be right
It takes a lot of time for them to adjust. If you can leave some blankets dirty and cat furniture dirty that helps. I've also left some of the cat litter dirty when moving the cat so that way they can smell their litter and recognize it easier.
Hey /an/,
You may remember me. I live with a small dog and my mom didn't allow me to "walk" the dog where I had to put it in a stroller instead. Now my dog got on his vaccines and I managed to persuade my mom to change her mind.
Question: what kind of leash or harness is best for walking a small dog? What should I be aware of?
Thanks!
get a harness, preferably one that incorporates that soft meshy material. little dogs can easily damage their throat/neck from a collar. petsmart would be fine. and the leash should just be something sturdy enough to tolerate the dog pulling
Small dogs are better off with a harness because they're prone to collapsed trachea. I use the ones like pic related - they're easy to put on, soft, and distribute pressure evenly.

Turn him in to your regional GSD rescue.

You can save up money now before he has signs. Unfortunately GSDs are bred to shit so it won't be too uncommon if he gets hip disorder. But he isn't even 2 months old yet, and hip disorders generally don't show signs until at least a few years of age. Set a fund aside just for medical emergencies now, and you can dip into it if something ever happens. I understand fixing a bad hip is a lot of money to suddenly pour into. While you may have cash for the food, toys, treats, training, yearly vet visits, vaccines etc, dumping a couple grand on a pup does seem like a lot. Just set up a budget in case it does come up; you have years to create a decent fund.
What are these and is there anyway to get rid of them for good? They've grown back twice in the same spot.
why would you want to get rid of them
>>2024976
You've really only scraped off the tip of the iceberg. Gotta go after the mycelium.
Can I eat this?
If you have a whole litter, it'll make a nice stew with some dumplings thrown in to fill it out.
If it is just one, then wait until it grows a bit more.
Dont eat anything carnivorous.
It will taste like shit.

I prefer this picture.

It is a silly cat, but I have no quarrel with it.
I found this one in my baby's bed. I was forced to kill it because I could not risk my daughter. Can anybody identify it? Need to know if it is poisonous to check the entire house
Before 30 people chime in saying its a brown recluse (it isnt), you have to put your location if you want any sort of reliable identification.
Though its probably some wolf spider relative.
Sorry, totally missed that one. I'm from Veracruz, Mexico.

Have any of your pets been killed by your family?
I dumped my ex boyfriend because he killed my cat. I never forgave that piece of shit
>>2024838
My mother killed all my scaleless fish with the fish "medicine", then she said that it's my fault the fish died.
One of my pet chickens had a prolaps and I had to put her down.
She went quick and I butchered her, but I gave the meat away.
>tfw Christmas puppies will be dumped in shelters two weeks from now when their owners get bored of them
I feel bad for anyone who has to work at a shelter. How do you deal with it?
why do you care
whoever sold them should have screened the buyer better

I keep seeing shows about dogs on TV so I'm trying to persuade my parents to get me one of those bought and abandoned Christmas puppers. It's not working.
