Are dogs wary of stuff such as thorny bushes? I have bushes under my big windows to try and deter burglars, but I'm worried my future dog might run into them and hurt himself

If you're concerned, why not just put a small fence/wire around the bushes to prevent this hypothetical dog from getting to them?

Okay /an/, what are some of the most brutal ways your pets died? Mine was around 6 years ago i had a pug and overnight she died and when i woke up i saw a lifeless dog in a pile of vomit and blood.

Can anyone give me advice on possibly getting more affordable pet meds?
I own a Pomeranian who has chronic seizure issues. His issues are managed by Phenobarbital pills.. which we pay $100~ for 300 count 16.2mg tablets every few months.
Are there better alternatives?

Hi /an/, need help
today my 6 year old staffordshire passed out at the beach while walking her. I didn't see her pass out as she was a fair way behind me with a stick.
I thought she was just lying down and called her, she kept laying down. Ran up to her and her tongue was hanging out, no pulse, not breathing.
Cleared her throat (bits of bark and stick in there) and picked her up then started running to the surf club, thinking she was dead while screaming for help.
halfway back she opens an eye slowly, then the other, looks at me blankly for a minute then starts panting and regaining her consciousness.
She was dead /an/, I swear, I've been watching her for the last 6 hours and she seems fine, just tired, local vets are all closed (public holiday) and after hours numbers not answering, nearest vet hospital is 90 klms away. Should I wait until tomorrow for the vets to open locally or take her into the hospital? Also can any vet anons help a poorfag out with some free advice?

She probably was asphyxiating on wood? As cool of a meme it is to find random pieces of wood lying around and get a natures toy for your dog. You have to accept that they can break and carry fungi or other harmful things.

Shit, is /an/ the right place for Kombucha help? I need someone to give me insight on my SCOBY. It's been fermenting for two weeks (I'm in Michigan and it's been cold) and I just want to know if this big fucker is still healthy. The big white dot on it is wet to the touch and doesn't look like mold (possibly the baby SCOBY starting to grow?)
This is my first fermentation, I got the SCOBY mama from my boss. I poured out a bit to taste it last night and it had a funk to it. Like a cheesy smell but it tasted fine (albeit flat since it fermented for so long). I felt fine after drinking it too so I don't think it's gone bad. I've read up on the sulfur smell and it's sometimes due to bad water (I used purified stuff I bought separately) and it's been in this glass contained for a while.
One thing I can guess at is that the black tea I used mightve had some oils in it for flavoring and that is what caused it? I also mention the tea because the SCOBY has a white film above the water.
I'm gonna follow up with some more pics, thank you in advance and I apologize if this is the wrong place for Kombucha threads. I considered /ck/ but this was a question directly related to the fungus itself so I came here first. Thanks again

My mistake in this whole process was thinking the baby would grow to a full radius on the first batch, turns out it needs a few rounds of fermentation to fully grow. So I let it sit for a long time and now it tastes really tangy

Hi everyone,
I have a 3 year old White German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. He is a super friendly goof ball of a dog. He isn't neutered, I plan to do it but I've been busy with grad school and haven't gotten to it.
Anyways I'm watching my friends dog, a male short haired pointer. And well my dog keeps trying to hump this dog, relentlessly. I keep telling him no, and pushing away but he doesn't stop. My dog keeps whining but the other dog just stands there and doesn't play, or he gets annoyed and barks and snaps. My dog will back off and then get back to it. The pointer is kind of an omega male, doesn't really do much besides stand there, run around or get annoyed with my dog, he doesn't play with my dog which why I think he starts to whine. Eventually i can see he is tired of dealing with my dog and I just bring him back into his crate.
Anyone know I can get him to stop trying to hump the dog? I keep telling him no, but as soon I leave the backyard he gets back to it. Should I just let them sort it out?
TLDR- Watching friends male dog, my dog keeps trying to hump the poor dog. Whats the best way to get him to stop

You can't do much about your dog's behavior because it was poorly bred. In the future don't get your dogs from the shelter or the first BYB that pops up on craigslist when searching for "GSD".

I go my puppy in October, I don't think I have any presents this year, family and friends are buying my puppy stuff lol. I always remember the other dogs birthdays too, nothing as loserish as baking them a chum cake, just remember it. Christmas is special tho, I put gravy on everything and Ofcourse they get elite tier scraps.

I currently feed my cat pic related, mainly because it's what the previous owner apparently fed it and I just continued on. She likes it, but I'm wondering if maybe I could be doing better (either cheaper or more healthy or even both).
My cat is about 3 years old and is purely an indoor cat.

I have collected tons of different flower seeds from the clearings and fealds on the hills of the suthern carpathian mountains , i am planing to sow them and grow them next year and am concidering selling some of the seeds i will get from the next generation online. These seeds are probably found no where else online or in shops, i took care to pick the most beautifull or unusual. Do you think anyone would buy them? Wherecould i sell them?

No, I was by far more bothered by that the movie sucked. What the fuck was up with plotasaurus rex? It apparently had all these amazing abilities it used exactly once for the sake of the plot. It didn't even look any cooler than any other theropod.
