I have a cat (1.5 yrs) a kitten (10 months) and my roommate has a dog (1.5 yrs)

My cat is getting the shit end of the stick in this situation. The kitten feels entitled to all of the food in the cat bowls. I hear they eat a lot as babies but this is ridiculous. The kitten is getting fatter while my cat slowly starves.

At the same time, the dog wont let the cat leave my room. So he's sad and sometimes cries when im not there. My roommate tells him to shut up instead of comforting him.

I got the kitten to keep the cat company, but he just plays with the dog and as i mentioned before, eats all of the food.

I'm moving soon to give me and my cats some much needed space. until then what can i do to help my cat be comfortable?

Bumping with my oldest air plant. Had this guy for over a year. You can really see how much larger it is than the rest.

Air plants are creepy but I like them. I live up north so we don't have anything like them. When visiting Florida I've seen them clinging to branches and abandoned objects where plants shouldn't be. It lends them an otherworldly, eldritch quality, and I picture them moving when nobody's looking.

You're giving us literally zero information. How the fuck do you expect anyone to know what's wrong with your dog when all you tell us is "he bites his foot. How fix? what happen!!!". Take him to a vet.
>>
>>2022885
That looks like a tumour on his foot. Go get it cut off or amputate the foot at the vets. Dogs adapt pretty well.

I ordered a pack of Echinacea Purpurea seeds off Heirloomseeds, and I'm on my fourth attempt to try and get them sprouting. I can't figure out the right technique... I tried planting them outright on the surface where they will receive full sunlight, I also tried stratifying them in the refrigerator in moist sawdust/ziplock for two attempts of 13 days and 30 days. I'm used to planting seeds to proper depth giving them a little love + water and watching them grow. This is not the case, and my green thumb is being questioned (by myself.) Though I'm also questioning the quality of seed... Does anyone have some experience planting Echinacea Purpurea and could provide some insight on how to get these daddies sprouting? I use organic miracle grow soil that I compost with only worms, and I also live in Florida.

How to plant Echinacea Purpurea (in Florida?)

I just throw my seeds outdoors in late winter.

if they don't germinate you should throw them in the fridge for a month and try again, probably a little colder.

don't expect help from /an/ they don't garden.
>>
>heirloom seeds
>only stratified 30 days
you're probably gonna have to stratify for months, man
>>
>>2023470
a month is usually enough.

growing them outdoors in a colder climate works better.

I'm thinking about getting a second cockatiel, but his cage wouldn't be good be a good size for two birds. Would This cage be okay for two cockatiels? If not, what size would you recommend? any help is majorly appreciated, thanks!

I would reccomend getting two birds. 9 -5 is 8 hours alone every day.
I have just one cockatiel but i am home all day so hes not lonely. He gets pissed off if hes left alone for more thsn an hour if im out shopping.
The cage looks fine, mine is smaller but he is out of the cage most of the time. I think its very important to have atleast one room that your bitd can roam in.
I dont agree with wing clipping, just be very careful when your bird is out the cage. But mine will always eventually go back in, especially if i put his food back in.
Mine was an adoption so idk how easy it is to train them, but mine wil try new things, just takes him weeks to get used to it.
I give mine vitamin drops in his water because he wont eat veggies every day.
Mine is very inflexible too, he likes things to be exactly his way, otherwise he gets grumpy.
He lets me catch him sometimes, and sometimes he will eat out my hand or off my plate, but he wont let anyone stroke him.
He sings at dawn and when i put him to bed, and taps at the window when i come home. Sometimes he sings if i sing.

I don't know much about cat breeds, but my mommy has a really cute long-haired black and white cat. If I got a cat I'd like one like this. She says it's just a 'domesticated longhaired' but does anyone know the breed?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Domestic longhair, or mutt cat. The vast majority of pet cats are mutts. If your mom had a purebred she would know it.
>>
Listen to your mother, she knows a lot more than you do.
>>
Like the other anons said, domestic longhair tuxedo. Go to a shelter and adopt whoever you fall in love with, regardless of color.

My golden retriever just turned 10 and he has been really lethargic lately. His hips are still pretty OK, but he has a bit of dysplasia. What worries me most is that he spends so much time lying down and he has so little drive to do anything.

Whenever he lies down on his dogbed, he breathes really heavily and forcedly (almost a wheezing sound).

What should I do?

Take the dog into the vet and tell them exactly what you told us.

He might need something as simple as some pain meds every once in a while, or it could be something more serious that needs to be examined, but honestly the vets the only one that can help you with this type of question. We're really no help on dog health unless its minor cuts and scrapes.

I don't want to hear bad news...I have nothing except my pup...he is my whole life
>>
>>2023199
Are you sure you'd rather have him suffer and die painfully and sadly than take him to a vet where he could possibly just need pain meds and live the rest of his life happy?

I'd like a bit of advice /an/.
I have had a cat for about 5 years, who lived pretty well with my dog, and lately he's been acting very strange and aggressive. He was always bothered by people yelling and the like and sometimes even assaulted my mother for yelling, but we could pass that off. What's strange is that lately, he has an odd dynamic with the dog - my brother picked her up, and he immediately meowed as if someone was attacking him, and assaulted my brother. It's been small incidents like that, about one a week, and about an hour ago it happened again, way bad.
>Be in bed, reading a book
>Dog comes in the room, making vomiting noises
>Look at her and wait for her to finish so I could clean up
>Cat comes in too, comes up right next to the dog and watches her mouth
>As soon as she actually vomits he lets out a horrific meow and pounces on me, claws the shit out of my arms and getting a bit of my face as well
>Yell at him while trying to fend him off, he calms down and walks away still alarmed, all hairs on end

I had blood all over my arms and face, closed the dog off in a separate room and washed myself, and the first thing I wanted to do was throw the cat away. I seriously thought of actually abandoning him somewhere far away.

I calmed down and I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, but honestly, what the fuck? He got castrated as a kitten, as soon as it was possible to do so, so it can't be that.

Pls halp.

Sounds like your cat is protective of your dog.
>>
>>2024324
But in a very odd and aggressive way - when the dog vomited I was just looking at her, and he constantly bothers the dog too, going over to her, sniffing her and then biting for no reason. She never fights back but is clearly uncomfortable and always tries to get away from him when he's like that.
>>
Well it seems like your cat recently took shlong up his butt. Maybe the cat is having an anal fissure. Or maybe it's just a faggot

I would focus on his inner beauty because of you focus too much on his outer beauty he could end up with a low self esteem and eating disorder. I am pretty sure that is why my cat vomits so much.
>>
>>2024284
my cat humps things and hes fixed, what does this mean.
>>
>>2024289
If he is humping stuffed animals then he is suffering from Plushophilia.
