I'm very concerned about my 5 years old male cat
He spends all day looking outside seated on the dinning table
I think the problem is that he lost his territory to my younger female cat who now spends most of her time around the rooms and such
What can I do for my older male cat so he doesn't spend all day seated on the same place?
Arm him, let him win the territory back in a glorious conquest.

I'm in North Dallas and stumbled upon this guy today. I'm fucking stumped as to what it is, does anyone know?
He's about the size of a car key fob.
Locust?
Its a cicada. Surprised you've never seen one.
>be me
>own a beautiful Hyllus diardi female
>after around 3 months of owning her she lays an egg sac
>ohshit.jpg
>egg sac hatches
>babies slowly begin to disperse after a month
>mother becomes more and more lethargic
>gets to around 5 babies left in the sac after separating them
>mother has been sat on the other side of the tank the entire day
>bear in mind that she hasn't ate once since she laid the sac about a month ago
>kept making threat displays towards dead crickets etc
>i try to feed her one last time
>she clambers over the dead cricket and walks over to her web where the babies are
>turns on her back and death curls right in front of me
>mother dead and all the babies separated except for one remaining in the original web
>i learn an important lesson about becoming emotionally invested in spider families
fucking feels
>>2446773
I'm sorry for your loss, anon.

My spider just had an egg sac abortion. I know this feel :(
She was a good mother, take comfort in that atleast.
Is the bird in this webm distressed? I thought it was cute at first, but looking at it I feel like it might be scared being moved around so quickly.
I can't imagine it'd be too happy about it.
>>2446716
It moved its wings partway through, so it's not restrained. They are capable of a clumsy sort of swimming. (some hawks go after ducks, you can also find videos of eagles or ospreys with fish that are too heavy) I think if it was distressed it would be flopping around a lot more.
>>2446716
Some owl species are really weirdly mellow. This bird might naturally have a very laid back temperament.
The owner may have slowly offered deeper and deeper dishes for bathing until it was totally accustomed to just floating around. If it's totally chill already, being pushed around by the water stream wouldn't make much of a difference.
Do you guys know of a loud-ass beetle that makes clicking noises as it flies?
Sounds like bursts of clicks, like someone setting off a taser or shooting an automatic weapon in...bursts.
brrap brrap brrap
pic semi-related, i think it's green underneath its wings. can't get a close look at it because im scared.
>>2446701
doesn't sound like a cicada either.. those have a consistent buzz
you can see this thing double-jumping through the air with each burst
probably a penis beetle homing in
>>2446705
Are we talking about a beetle that's shaped like a penis, or a beetle that seeks out and bites penises?
Is it native to Oregon? Fuck this state, man.

What the fuck was his problem?
can non-self-reliant 12yo girl take properly care of leopard gecko/s?
If she's non-self-reliant , doesn't that just mean you're the one who needs to make sure you can take care of it?
according to his DNA results he is a chihuahua/poodle mix with bits of cocker spaniel, shih tzu, and some other mixed breeds. did my dog fail his DNA test? have other people gotten unexpected results?
>>2446542
>did my dog fail his DNA test?
I don't see how you could fail a DNA test nor why you would think he did fail, if he could. he looks like a chihuahua mix.
I've been curious about what my dog's DNA results would be but I've never done it. in the end, some educated guessing is good enough if you're looking to predict future health issues or behaviors.
pic is my dog. the rescue guessed lab/collie. I assume they knew the mother was a collie mix but if he IS a lab mix it doesn't show. no webbed toes, no overeating, not too food-motivated, sort of lazy. it's more likely he's a golden mix. did you know puppies from the same litter can have different fathers? he was the only gold-colored one with a double-coat, and the rest of his siblings were black with smooth short coats, and he had one gold-colored sister who looks like a basset hound.
my point is it's such a crapshoot that your dog could literally be a mix of anything until you get the DNA results back. I wouldn't be surprised if you said your dog had some beagle or italian greyhound or boxer in him and would take you at your word.
>>2446542
What did you expect him to be lol
those tests are at best inaccurate and at worst, outright scams

Thank you.
So I caught this snake and I'm wondering what kind it is. I live in eastern Tennessee and I don't think it's a copperhead. What do you guys think it is?
>>2446459
hard to tell in the picture but im pretty sure its a northern/common water snake
entirely harmless but will musk pretty bad
Thanks bud.
>>2446459
that's a Mckiller snooker. stay away
What do you think about Hamster Atlantis?
jesus fucking christ
>>2446410
Is this the guy that used to post threads about his underwater habitat designs and eventually built a hamster one he put in a lake?
>>2446435
Over successive generations he'll be able to breed hambeasters, hamsters combined with beavers, they will then escape their watery enclosures and find a place to propogate and fuck up the local ecosystem
cool doggos thread
>be me
>be sleeping
>begin dream sequence
>walking through the woods
>realise I need to piss
>Whip the dick out
>Begin urination
>it sounded unsual
>kind of like a baby with a loaded diaper sitten on a rotten tomator
>Suddenly a beam of moonlight shot through the treeline glistening off my penis, and something else
>If I was slightly gay I would have thought my penis looked glorious shimmering in the moonlight
But saddly im not gay, and my penis still looks like a flesh goblet
>there is a fox on the ground
>iampissingonthefox.avi
>it's shaking
>im shaking with arousal
>i assume the fox is as well (it wasn't until I woke up that I realised the reason it was shaking was far from arousal)
>i cant stop pissing
>the fox just sits there staring at me in terror
>i wake up
>my penis is rock solid
What does this mean....
>>2446121
Congratulations, OP, not only are you a disgusting furfag, but you also have one of the worst fetishes next to eating other people's shit.
>>2446126
But im not into furshit... at least I dont think so
The sound made you uneasy and feel off or unnatural, and the weirdness of the moonlight situation caused tension to build, allowing the dream to head south, as easy as "what's going to happen next?" not even being thought out loud. This showed up as shock, but in context to your surroundings, and the shock manifested it's way sexually, in a perverse or deviant manner (peeing on something is tied to pornography more than disrespect nowadays you know). Of course it's wrong underneath it all, but all your synapses are firing differently in sleep, like mentally being "unable to put your finger on it." A vivid dream moves quick and is connected to your moods and thoughts because you're literally in your own head during them. Even just thinking a partial thought can lead the dream that way, which is why a nightmare can escalate fast.
FUCKING UNITE.
Anyone here have a particular interest?
I like to memorize taxonomic names to help me understand the hierarchies involved. Obviously it's pretty much impossible to memorize all the names for even just one group, but it's still worth it.
I like botany and entomology (particularly focusing on Coleoptera).
Just off by heart I know these
Plant families:
Poaceae
Compositate
Fagaceae
Ericaceae
Pinaceae
Campanulaceae
Rosacaea
Betulaceae
Orobanchaceae
Lamiaceae
Rubiaceae
Primulaceae
Droseraceae
Crassulaceae
Insect orders:
Hemiptera
Diptera
Coleoptera
Ephemeroptera
Hymenoptera
Thysanura
Collembolla
Odonata
Orthoptera
Blattodea
Dermpatera
Strepsiptera
Phasmatodea
Lepidoptera
Isopetera
Neuroptera
Beetle families:
Silphidae
Elateridae
Nitidulidae
Chrysomelidae
Lucanidae
Meloidae
Staphylinidae
Curculionidae
Hydrobiidae
Geotrupidae
Scarabaeidae
Dytiscidae
Coccinellidae
Carabidae
Cantharidae
Bruprestidae
Cerambycidae
Lampyridae
That's all I can think of atm. Obviously these are just 1 taxanomic rank for each thing. It helps to know though, e.g. Rosales> Rosaceae> Sorbus> Sorbus acuparia
What is your interest (read: obsession)?
Ps. I'm not actually autistic.
