Hello, /an/.

I've recently got a female cat who's about 3-4 months old, and she's doing just fine in my house. She also never went outside.

The problem is that there's a black cat who enters my house when I'm not home and eats my cat's food. I also think it's trying to mate her, but I'm not sure about its gender.

So, how do you deal with unwanted visitors in your houses? Pic related of the black cat.

It gets here by the roof. It probably climbs some tree to get on it.

Trying to decide what species of cockroach to get next, I've narrowed down the list to the following:
Gyna centurio
G. oblongonota
G. portentosa
Elliptorhina javanica
Byrsotria rothi

Any help/suggestions?

centurions all the way. just my two cents but i detest javanica. something about those stripes is nauseating. they are like sandworms from beetlejuice, or obese waxworms.

No.

Are centurions easy to keep or are they aggressive shits like orange heads?

What does /an/ think of these guys? I've wanted a german shepherd all my life, and really started researching them for the last 6 years. At the beginning, I kind of just wanted a family pet one, but now I'm leaning more towards these guys.

As long as it's not a shitty show line with an ugly slope back, go for it.

I read in another thread that you have to be extremely careful in examining the hip and pelvis area of the puppers before you get one because some of them suffer from early onset arthritis and osteo in that are due to the genetics of the breed.
>>
>>2040286
Just ask your breeder if they're health tested. you shouldn't have to ask, actually; this information should be clearly presented. Check the breed clubs/website for recommended health tests.

How do you euthanize a dog at home? Can it be done painlessly while also leaving no evidence? My grandmother's shih tzu is blind, deaf, and senile but my aunt and grandmother refuse to do anything about it. They have avoidance issues and it's causing the dog to suffer. The thing is 17 years old and sits around groaning and barking all day. It has been mentally gone for as long as I can remember. The other day it ran through the banister and fell a story and a half onto the stairs and just sat there afterwards. Didn't even react to it. It's awful seeing an animal live like this when it's owners are too childish and afraid to do what's right.

Has anyone had to do this? Are there any reliable methods?

Are you ok with becoming a serial killer in 10 years?
>>
Well, could you have it put down and say it "ran off" ?
>>
Somehow masking it as death from old age.

Is it really impossible to talk about it? Because you know that if they find out it's going to cause strife. But I guess it there isn't any strife to be had when you aren't on speaking terms to begin with.

My doctor has said that I should get a therapy animal to help with my anxiety and depression. I have decided to get a savannah cat or a serval- which are both very big animals.
Right now, I live in the city next to the freeway in a very busy city so I do not want my cat to be an outdoor cat because this type of cat would be capable of jumping our fence and getting on the freeway and I also don't want it to get catnapped because these animals sell for a lot of money. Since these cats are both considered "exotic" cats/big cats, they do have extremely powerful claws. I am also an antique collector. My fear is that the cat will scratch up my antiques if I do not declaw it. In two years though, we are planning to move to a more rural area where I would let the cat roam outside and I wouldn't want the cat declawed. I have heard of ways to temporarily declaw a cat but I'm not sure if they work. Has anyone used them? (for example I've seen caps you can put on their claws). Would it be even more cruel to declaw a serval than it would be to declaw a house cat?

>>
Well declaring is cruel no matter the cat op. Did you do some research on these cats? I heard they're pretty high energy and give no fucks. I don't think your antiques would be alright even if you did let them outside in a rural area. Why not try an older dog or cat? Maybe there's an older cat that the previous owner declared already.
>>
>getting a wild animal as a therapy animal
>getting a huge, high-energy cat when you collect antiques
>even considering declawing
>wants to let a fucking serval be an outdoor cat

pls no
pls no to all of this.

Get a shelter cat, an older cat that's either really laid back or already declawed from a previous owner. You don't need a speshul snowflake pet to keep you company. Savannah cats are notoriously destructive, and servals are wild animals.

I want an iguanua so, so, so badly. They are such cool animals and with proper care they can be so badass and live a long time. I have two dogs and am a poor wageslave right now, so I'm going to wait until I'm probably in my 30's before I get an iguana so it can have a giant tank and I can afford the best everything for it. I don't want to half-ass anything, I want to have a surplus of shit.

Also I really like alpacas but they require a lot of work/upkeep, maybe when I'm middle aged but it's just a lot of work

dogs can also taste umami
>>
>>2040082
Not exactly true. Dogs have the taste receptors for salt, but not many and they are not tuned to seek it out.

>Dogs, are not exclusively carnivorous, but are usually classified as omnivores, meaning that they eat, not only meat, but plant material as well. Nonetheless, in the wild, more than 80 percent of a canine's diet will be meat. For this reason, in addition to sensors for sweet, salt, sour and bitter, dogs also have some specific taste receptors that are tuned for meats, fats and meat related chemicals. Dogs will tend to seek out, and clearly prefer the taste of things that contain meat or flavours extracted from meat.

>Dogs, however, are primarily carnivores and in the wild, most of their food is meat. Because of the high sodium content in meat, the wild ancestors of dogs already had a sufficient amount of salt in their diet and did not develop our highly tuned salt receptors and the strong craving for salt.

>The sweet taste buds in dogs respond to a chemical called furaneol. This chemical is found in many fruits and in tomatoes. Cats are virtually "taste blind" for this substance. It appears that dog's do like this flavour, and it probably evolved because in a natural environment dogs frequently supplement their diet of small animals with whatever fruits happen to be available.

Have you ever noticed the unique patterns on top of bearded dragon heads? I've owned a couple beardies before and I've never come across a bearded dragon with similar head patterns.

but his had nice heads before they were released

DNA changes each time, so does their scale patterns.

scale patterns are random, not inherited. similar to human fingerprints.

the third eye on beardies is always in the same place though.

i've tried the spider spray, it didn't help much and they keep showing up.

is there any other way?

they're attracted to gasoline fumes, so you could leave an open container of gasoline in a bucket with a small hole for them to get into and once you've trapped them all you could take the bucket outside and light it on fire killing them all.

that seems a bit dangerous though.

What's the best diet for cats? I know kibbles aren't the best, but I'm not up for a raw diet. Should I feed a mix of kibbles and canned food, or just canned food? What brands? I tried doing my own research, but it's all super complicated and there's little agreement. It'd be nice if you could tell me why a diet/brand is better than everything else.
Right now, I'm feeding my cat purina one kibbles with two cans of blue buffalo canned food a day. I know purina one isn't that great, but it's the least shit thing they had there.

You can consult a veterinary nutritionist if you want to attempt a homemade diet. They'll help you and make sure you don't fuck up by accident.
>>
>>2038116
I was thinking more along the lines of something commercial. I'm not the smartest and I don't want to fuck up, plus it would probably take a lot of time to plan out and put together. I'm just trying to avoid feeding my cat the equivalent of McDonald's for the rest of his life.
>>
Ive read a few times that freeze dried is the best for cats, because there isnt the danger of raw and the nutrient loss of cooked. whatever u feed it, just remember to have little to no grain or fish. theres a type of canned food i get off the walmart online site because they never have it in stores called variety homemade.

You are equally retarded for not doing the same to your cat.
If you want to breed your cats, either keep the indoors or away from potential mates.
Cry more faggot, you will still have to drown those kittens
