I came back home and an unknown cat was inside my house. I have 2 cats already (8 years old female and 6 yr old cat). The female one smelled him for a bit. I called for her to the living room, both came (the female and the unknown cat) and she was pissed and almost hit the little one.

How should I proceed?

Scan him for microchips/put out fliers/adopt
>>
>>2036136
Separate the unknown cat, post it on Facebook that you found her, Craigslist, see if any local shelters will put her up on a lost and found, look for lost and found web pages and apps for your area, put up fliers, bring her to get scanned for a chip. If you can't keep her in your home, bring her to a shelter or call ACO and tell them you found a stray. The cat legally becomes yours in most states after 2 weeks of taking care of her.

Would it be dangerous to make a cat transit system that also goes through the walls, ceilings and floors leading to different rooms?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Maybe not dangerous, but really annoying for you I guess, as they'be probably running in there allnight long, and good luck cleaning it once it settled.
>>
No, I remember watching shows about people doing it in the 90s on animal planet, just plan it out very well , inspect it every once and a while, and make sure you can get to every part of it in case of freak emergencies or something.
>>
not dangerous, but consider: eventually they will piss or shit in it, and it will be a pain in the ass to clean

Here's Rose for y'all

My cat has only two sides: trying to murder me(literally), or he's the sweetest thing. Do you know anything about this? Could be a medical thing?

https://youtu.be/Gmdhxgn9Oco this is him
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Yes, that is how cats act. Some are more on the murder all things side than others, but all of them are at list a little bit of an asshole who would eat you should you die. It's kind of their thing. My cats are more on the love and cuddles side, but they still occasionally bite the ever loving shit our of my feet when I move them under the covers in bed.

Unless this is a sudden change in behavior it's really not something to be concerned about. Any sudden dramatic behavior changes are things you should bring up to a vet.
>>
>>2034264
Because cats are still animals. They are literally just a smaller version of a "tame" lion.
>>
>>2034264
Yes I have that problem too.

I got my cat when he was like 3-4 weeks old, I still fed him milk and had to move his belly a bit after his meals so he would digest it properly.

Even taught that nigger how to use the litter box.

Apparently if they're taken away from their mother too young they have that behavior.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.

Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.

Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

So now I have obvious traces of nitrite and nitrate in my cycling tank. The thing is, I haven't had to feed the bacteria ammonia for two days now because I had a sudden ammonia spike and I don't know where it came from. I would bring the ppm up to 3 every time it went down but not it's just sitting around at 4 ppm. Is this normal?

Animals you'd love to keep as a pet but are impractical/impossible for whatever reason?

I love Armadillos and similar little armored mammals but I'm pretty sure it would be impossible for me to get one outside of the Americas. I'm planning on looking into a couple of Hedgehogs at some point instead since they are relevent to my interests and way easier to get/keep.

What animal would you like to have around if getting, keeping or domesticating wasn't an issue?

Armadillos also carry a lot of diseases that can be transmitted to humans.
>>
>>2031721
I'm aware, but it's far less of an issue with any raised in captivity for a few generations, same with the leprosy thing.
Regardless, it's about animals you'd keep if it were more practical for yourself to

Last time I caught mine shedding it only took him about 20 minutes.

Guys,
One of my mic keeps scratching one ear,
it came right off and now shes got one ear
and she grooms her mate to the point of bald spots
how come?

Holy shit did you not think to go to the vet at any point?
>>
>>2035345
Oh yeah I forgot to mention there's not vet near me that does mice
especially they are feeder mice but they broke the record of longest lasting, its been over a year theyve been going

the story behind how this happened, because i noticed when it did, was when it was super cold up here and the heater fucked up and they couldn't get some heat so they got super lethargic and it wasn't a pretty sight, i went to go get a portable heater and it allowed them to "come back to life" since then the mother (the other 2 are daughters) has been just stressed out and always grooming only one daughter to the point of baldness
>>
>>2035685
It's not uncommon for feeder mice to live over 1 year.

At this point it sounds like OCD caused by something that was irritating her. Basically what happens is, mouse needs to itch. for sake of conversation we will say she had an allergy to something. She itches contentiously. You fix the problem, whether you meant to or not, or it goes away or the mouse built a tolerance. But now, the scratching is a habit. She does it just out of habit now, even if she is no longer allergic and no longer itchy. It's called Chronic Scratching in Mice, you might want to read about it to see what you can do for her. You should really find a vet to prescribe a triple antibiotic like Vetropolycin. A vet may not SEE a mouse but they should at least give you the ointment for it. Call around and see what you can get.

Of course, find out what is causing the itches in the first place. Mites, bacteria, fungus, allergies etc. Get rid of that variable first, otherwise you won't ever be able to get her to stop with the chronic scratching.

So, my cat usually enjoys getting on top of the tub while I'm showering and drinking/playing with the showerhead. I usually let her.

Today she jumped inside my tub, so I kept her out of the soap as much as I could and played with her, then gently scrubbed her with a towel. She wasn't drenched or anything so she got dry pretty quickly.

My question is is this bad for her health? Should I keep her out of the bathroom in the future? She really enjoyed it so I doubt I can stop her from doing that if she's there.

.... Are you serious anon?

Are you trying to kill your cat with dihydrogen monoxide?

But no seriously, your cat's probably okay, you did the right thing, don't shampoo the cat cause the cat will lick it out. On the plus side if the cat likes it this means that you have a safe way to bathe your cat if it gets into something terrible
>>
>>2035231
Thank you. I'm mostly concerned about her getting cold or it being bad for her skin or something.
