Hey /an/, just found this bug on my computer screen. Its about 4 mm long. Can anyone identify him? I want to file a police report.
Ive scoured my room, havent found any friends.
>>2037846
Ceti eel.
aka lacewing larva.
>>2037847
Huh. Thought it looked like an antlion but I was like 'no thats dumb, what would an antlion larva be doing on my screen?'
Guess I wasnt far off though. Now why is it in my house?
>>2037850
yeah, it could be an antlion.
I can't really tell without a clear picture and a location. Even then I might not be able to tell the difference.
they wander around some. And they bite.

Does anyone know what kind of cat this is? I'm really curious since we found her outside as a malnourished kitten around a year ago. She could barely meow or speak since a bot fly larvae decided to fuck up her nose, but now she makes pretty chirping noises when I play with her, or when I pet her/give massages. She also chatters at birds and squirrels occasionally. Her fur is very soft, like bunny fur, and it grew out more in the winter.
If anyone wants to know anything else about her, ask away. Other than that, stray cat stories thread.

What a gorgeous cat, glad to hear you have given her another chance at life! Sorry I can't say what kind of cat she is though.
I found my girl as a stray kitten as well a couple of years ago. She was 1.4 lbs with open wounds on her side and bad ear mites.. she basically looked like a skeleton with some fur stretched over it. The vet thought she was about 2 months old and didn't think she would have lasted a couple more days on her own. Now she's fat and sassy, living the good life. She purrs loudly and rubs against me if I hold her and sleeps in my lap all the time, but bites anyone else if they so much as reach toward her.

OP here. Thank you for sharing!
Mine had similar hardships when we first found her. Very skinny, fleas and two bot fly larvae; one in her chest and nose. She was only around 5 or 6 weeks. They thought she had a 50/50 chance. She's the sweetest thing.
Yours has beautiful markings! Seems like she really warmed up to you! Mine can't purr since the bot fly incident, but I can feel the vibrations sometimes. She has times where she gets cuddly, but she mainly loves to wrap herself around my neck like a scarf.
Domestic medium/longhair. Cute nose spot.
Hey, /an/. I found this fungus growing in my backyard, and have never seen it before in my area. I live in southern New Hampshire, US. Wondering if anyone has a clue as to what they are.
Pic related, another one. When I touched it, it released this puff of brown air.
>>2036048
it's a stepped on puff ball
the "brown air" is it's spores being released
>>2036048
It's a puffball. But whatever you do, don't breathe the spores or get them in your eyes. You could die or go blind.
Hi /an/. I was petting my dog and felt a small, hard bump on my dog's skin. It was hard to find because he's covered in so much hair. But it has little black dots all around it. I'm wondering if anyone here has any idea what this is?
He does have allergies and itches himself quite a bit. So I'm wondering if it's some kind of irritation? I put a damp cloth on it to test for flea dust but it isn't.
>>2037741
How old?
Once they hit a certain age most dogs will start developing bumps everywhere. Just measure it's size and write it down. Unless it's a reaction to a bite you're fine.

New dog. Is it normal for hounds to have audible farts?
currently doing an aging photo group from 3 weeks to 1 year old.
This is from Jasper County in Indiana.
Protecting his deer by slaughtering three dogs that escaped their yard following heavy rain. The dogs are non-violent and abundantly friendly. No risk to his farm. He knew the dogs owners. Proceeded to burn them after taking their collars off their corpses.

He snap chatted a picture to a friend who did not approve and informed the owners.

Although within his rights this man is still a monster to rob a family of beloved pets. The dogs consisted of a mother and two of her fully grown pups.

What is fair here?
I've spent too much money buying cannabis from others. I really just want to be able to grow the stuff by myself.
- how illegal is it to grow cannabis?
- how do I not get caught / get away with it?
- how many cannabis plants would I have to grow in order to smoke at least once a week for a year?
- how much would it cost to maintain these plants? would I have to raise new saplings every year?
Just wait a couple years until it's legalized in the west.
You're better off just buying it if legality is a real worry to you. If you're caught growing, you're most likely be charged with not only possession, but intention to sell. Weed laws vary so much, and so do the judges so you're better off with getting a misdemeanor than a felony.
Well you could start by telling us your country...

How many of you are confident that if you are attacked by a Pittbull, you would be capable of fending it off with your bare hands?
Keep in mind, these are very strong dogs.
eventually, but it'd fuck me up pretty bad.
Extremely confident. I'd suffer from a bite or two, but no before I fuck his shit up till it with the program and backs off.
I've done it multiple times.
Hello /an I have got a fiesty little maine coon that is 1 year old and weighs 22 pounds. As it will soon get into the breeding age I have a problem- it was born with a congenital eye disease, which means that other coon breeders will not want to breed with my cat for the fear of the disease carrying on to offspring. I don't want to get it neutered either because it seems unfair to the animal. I was wondering if it is possible for a maine coon to have sex with a regular cat (I let it outside every once in a while).
tl.dr: can maine coon and regular cats have sex/ will it kill the smaller cat?
Not a good idea to do large breed male+smaller female. Also not a good idea to let your cat stick its dick in strays. Cats can get STDs, too.

forgot to write that it is a male cat

Alright /an/, my dog keeps shitting liquid. He goes to the vet on friday to get a flea dip, but I'd prefer to stop cleaning up liquid shit. Is there some sort of OTC pepto bismol-equivalent for dogs? I'm sure it's not his food, prior to about a week ago his shits were solid and he was fine on the same food. We thought it was some new treats he was eating, but we went back to the old treats that he was fine on and he still has chronic diarrhea. Rice doesn't seem to help either.
Google was of no assistance, so I figured I'd at least ask /an/.
Pic related, it's said dog.
is he up to date on shots?
first, fast him for 12 hours before giving him any more food. feed him a mixture of boiled chicken breast, pureed canned pumpkin, and rice.
KEEP HIM HYDRATED. your dog is obviously very ill and it seems like you're more concerned about your floor than his health. buy some unflavored pedialyte and squirt it in his mouth with a syringe often to keep him hydrated.
is he lethargic? is he also vomiting?
if he's acting normally and NOT tired or weak, and he's NOT dehydrated (check his gums. if they're tacky, or any color other than pink, he's dehydrated), he likely has parasites. before you go to the vet on Friday get a fresh fecal sample and have the vet do a fecal exam. they'll likely give you some antibiotics.
I'm concerned about his health, but considering he's going to the vet literally tomorrow anyways, I'd figure he's not in mortal danger since he's still as hyper as ever. I'm not sure about his gums, I'll be honest I'm a little squeamish around his teeth since they're getting sharp and he's in a biting phase. Can't really get him to training yet either because he's too young and isn't castrated yet.
To my knowledge, he's fine on shots, and he did vomit once when eating a treat, but to my knowledge he hasn't vomited any other times. I get the feeling it's because it was one of those dental treats that are fairly large and he might have tried to swallow it while it was still mostly together (a greenie if the brand matters). He doesn't vomit them up otherwise.

>I'm not sure about his gums, I'll be honest I'm a little squeamish around his teeth since they're getting sharp and he's in a biting phase.
man up and touch the pupper's gums. it's only for a second. if they're wet, he's okay. if they're a little sticky or dry, you need to get more liquid in him.
>Can't really get him to training yet either because he's too young and isn't castrated yet.
you think you can't train your dog when it's young, or if it isn't neutered? friend. please. you can absolutely begin training your dog now.
make sure he's up to date on shots. since you said he's running around normally, I'm going to go ahead and assume parasites. this is normal for young dogs, and you already said he has fleas as he's going to the vet to get treated for them. fleas can transfer internal parasites to dogs. if you haven't seen worms in your dog's poop, it's likely giardia or coccidia.
make sure the dog is hydrated. fast him for 12 hours, then give him a bit of that chicken/rice/pumpkin mix I mentioned. just a small bit. see how he does.
if your dog is dehydrated, and you can't find pedialyte, you can put a little bit of chicken broth in his water dish, or give him frozen chicken broth cubes, too.
