Can we just stop with this whole swatting mosquitoes meme? I think it's time for people to grow up and accept that all lives matter. No matter how small or inconsequential these precious creatures lives might seem to you and I, the fact remains that they are still living beings. Sentient, and of equal value to any other of the creatures on this Earth. Yeah, I know, I get it: they might cause you a minor annoyance at some point in your life. But your life will go on, and last much longer than theirs would have even without you cruelly, mercilessly "swatting" their life out in an instant for them doing literally nothing at all to you. I mean, sure they might bite you but that's just the mosquitoes way of trying to find food. They don't mean to bother you; they aren't trying to hurt you, unlike the way people happily try to harm them. Do you let your pets at home starve just because it costs money -- a minor inconvenience having to pay for it -- to feed them? No; that would be animal abuse. So maybe you shouldn't just murder every little insect you come across, for committing the "crime" of wanting to fucking continue to exist, did you ever think of that? Now, don't get me wrong. I hate bugs and insects in general as much as the next guy. But in these modern times is there really any room left for primitive, violent caveman solutions like swatting mosquitoes? That's no longer okay. So the next time you see a mosquito, you might try extending your tolerance and love for certain animals to be more inclusive of all animals, and allow the poor little fella do it's thing, and let it go on its way and live it's humble life in peace.

I cry about it for a while and then I move on. If it's an animal I spent a lot of time with or bonded with I will remember them with fondness and occasionally be sad that they are no longer around but I go on with my life as normal. Some people keep ashes or paw print molds or old collars but I just keep pictures. I think the body is just a vessel anyways so I don't see much point in keeping ashes, or building a shrine. By the time my life's over I'm sure I'll have outlived quite a few animals so it's best not to dwell. When my last dog passed it was easier because they were older and in discomfort, so seeing them released from that wasn't as hard to bear, and I still have a younger dog and need to take care of her. I've tried to give her more attention and training now because I was sad for a bit and I like redirecting that into positivity.

If you were an adult when you got it you should've come to terms with the fact you were going to outlive this adorable little critter when you got it.

Okay so I've got 4 chicks and 3 of them look like the one on the left with no large red crests on their head. Just small yellow ones.
This one lil baby has big red flaps and crest growing every day. Is it a rooster? If so I will be quite upset because my township jas laws against owning loud rooster and ive become quite attached.
So my question is is this just a chicken with different features or possibly more mature (not the biggest btw)?

This is the chicken in question. Another one got in the shot for good comparison.
Another reason I can't get rid of it is that I've been led to believe that the chickens are the heir to a large fortune, but only if all four are together to claim it.
But that's a story for another time and place.

I have a 3 month old kittens that suddenly starting meowing all the time.
He'll just walk around and meow, sit in random places and meow, usually for no reason. He just went to the vet and was treated for worms and a cold and had a clean bill otherwise, and he's not lethargic so I doubt he's in pain. His sister rarely meows. Is it normal? What does it likely mean?

I also have a talkative cat and this is usually the answer, boredom or looking for attention/food. My cat also lives aggressive combing with a brush, as in she leans into the brush with all her weight. After a really good grooming she is usually less chatty and content, maybe OPs is itchy as well

Thanks. Yeah I figured. I try to keep around me and hold but he's usually more interested in running around or playing with the other cat that sitting on my lack or me playing with a toy with him. Some cats are just louder than others but I just wonder if he's particularly needy or anxious about being alone, or spoiled even?

I need a pet to help with my depression and crushing loneliness.
My family is agaisnt having pets because they make the house smell awful and they leave hair everywhere.
I just want something to cuddle with and occupy my time when I'm home but I don't want to find vomit on my bed everyday after work.

Whenever things start getting better someone always brings me down. People look for the smallest reasons to attack me and now I'm alone.
Having a pet companion to take care of and bond with seemed like a good idea.
