Well quail are a bitch to rase. If you do not keep them with plenty of food and water they will kill each other for the fun so once you start to make actual noises instead of chrips then get them some space.

Some info on the incubator:
Made from 7x7" panels of 1/2" foam.
Internal temperature hovers around 101°F,
Humidity is roughly 45%, increased recently to 60% for the lockdown period.
Temperature is regulated manually by a screw which props the lid open depending on ambient temps.

I decided to start this project while impatiently waiting for an order of 8 bobwhite quail eggs and a chickbator-2000 from strombergs chicks. I ordered them in late March, and due to inability for the breeders to meet demand, I am still waiting for my order to come through.

I plan to release the bobwhites on my uncles property, where they can act as game over the following season.

The hatchlings from this batch, presumably coturnix quail, will hopefully be introduced to the chickens and guineas already on penned next to their barn.

I've heard that males can't be kept together for this reason. Does it hold true for females as well? For the first 6 weeks, I plan to raise them first in a brooder box, then in a 3x4' window well next to my home. Forums suggest 1 square food for each chick under 6 weeks, and I'm hoping this will be enough.

Homeowners association is a bitch and won't let me set up a pen, and I even had to hide my raised beds between bushes on the side of my house.

I live here, 90% of out forest is spruce, with birch/maple/pine scattered about. And a lot of pic related.

As for low lying plants, you can pickup books in most local outdoor stores that show what are edibles

Killing it would have likely been illegal, at any rate. So don't second guess your decision to not kill it.

You can't reverse pyramiding so the best you can do is feed him less in frequency and quantity , specifically those commercial pellets or other sources of protein, and more veggies. some calcium might help for just general shell/bone health

Lettuce, dandelion leaves, turnips greens are all good, just watch out for stuff like iceberg lettuce. My female loves the shit out of red leaf lettuce

You can't fix the pyramiding that's already happened, but to prevent more feed him a more balanced diet with less protein in it.

My yellow bellied slider loves to eat strawberries, which are really good. Kale and lettuce is also good, but do not feed them spinach.

Try not to feed them pellets to often. For alternate sources of protein you can try crickets or small shrimp. Most kinds of fish have a lot of fat in them but I give my turtle them occasionally as a treat and she loves to chase them around.

It'll live for 2-5 months, maybe even less and that's it. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair.

Anyway make sure the box is big enough for the beetle to move and climb around freely, put in enough soil so the beetle can bury itself during the day (should be 6+ inches deep at least) and don't put in useless decoration like thin sticks/branches on which the beetle can't even climb on.
Also, not all beetles like beetle jelly; some will even ignore it. Make sure to slice the jelly pot in 2 halves since Beetles with long horns tend to have trouble accessing the contents from an intact one buried in a hole. Banana works 90% of the time tho.

Although not a hybrid in the normal sense my favourite one is the Sheep–goat chimera, it is not a tradition hybrid like a mule or the sheep and goat hybrid that just has a goat as one parent and sheep as another.

No this Chimera is created by combing a sheep and goat embyro, like full metal alchemist wizardry.
This creature has four parents.

How such a thing exists is beyond me but it is pretty cool. The Chimera really is two animals in one body.

Have you seen any carpet beetles in your home? They are pic related and super small. Once we thought we had bedbugs because I kept getting these small itchy bumps, literally dozens upon dozens of them, mostly congregated on my legs but there were some elsewhere too. It was weird though because we never saw any evidence normally associated with bedbugs, and my BF was not getting bumps either.

We did however notice these tiny beetles while cleaning and researched them. They were carpet beetles, and the hairs on their body can cause an allergic reaction in the form of itchy bumps on a person's skin. Not everyone is sensitive to the hairs, which explains why the BF was not getting any. They were very easy to get rid of though, a simple vacuuming of the floor and furniture and washing of linens.

Could've been, I've definitely seen something like them around but the itty bitty nigger I mentioned getting in a bag looks nowhere near as pretty as that beetle.

I do work around crickets sometimes. They can be pretty dirty and I would not at all be surprised if this were related to them, because sometimes tiny milipedes, maggots, flies, and beetles show up with them but that'd be weird too, because until now I've had no trouble with them.

One thing I didn't mention was that I used repellent on myself a night ago on myself and my bed and woke up the next morning with no bites. Last night I tried the same but more sparsely and was itching on my less-sprayed foot and hand so bad I didn't catch a wink.

I don't have a vacuum.

if it is bedbugs, you'd be better off buying a semi decent steam cleaner than all that other stuff. Diatomaceous earth is really bad if inhaled and I've never seen an off the shelf spray that works well on bedbugs (filthy little fucks never clean themselves and since most bug killers require ingestion....). Any cleaner that can output steam at more then 160 Fahrenheit will be more then enough to kill the bastards and their eggs.

And just a question; if one can take care of the needs of a lot of pets, is it considered hoarding?

For example; a friend of mine has 24 pets. However, they are all taken care of. She drives an hour to an exotic vet (chinchilla, pig, bearded dragon, hamster). All of them look happy and healthy.

She's an online friend that lives several states away. She talks a lot about her animals and she's named at least six or seven cats and maybe five or six dogs. She never gives me a number (I'm guessing because she knows that she has too many?). If the animals were well taken care of, I wouldn't have an issue. But the fact is a lot of them are constantly sick and several have died in the past year already. She told me today that another cat of hers is dying (vet thinks it's from FIP).

She's already told me that she and her family don't have very much money and can't afford to take all of the animals to the vet.

He's not neutered and is up to date on his shots, he still has his claws the only issue I can thing if is his tail he has a natural birth defect in his tail I'll post a picture but he still has 100% mobility he can wag and stretch it out to clean it but he is very defensive of it, the vet said its not broken and since he has full motion in it so there's no need to stub it
