Two months ago one of my girls had an ear infection that gave her a head tilt. Round of antibiotics got rid of it. It's back again and even worse, now her head's even more tilted. She's like a tiny drunk person walking around.

Fucking ear infections. She's on antibiotics again, but how long until it clears up?

Sookie rat letting me hold her paw.

She's 2 years old. I got her from Petco, I went in to buy rat food and they had an oops litter that someone had brought in. Adopted her and her sister (RIP) for five bucks each. She has a tiny ear and a cloudy eye.
>>
My rats stopped scratching and her wound healed, whatever was bothering her seems to be gone, so I decided to finally introduce her to a neighbour. However they don't seem to be interested in interactions.

Hey /an/ i found this baby finch, no injuries, parents abandoned it. Please help me care for it, i dont want this bird to die. Anything helps, need advice on feeding, warmth and sursing
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Keep it in a dark quiet place and if it's still alive take it to the closest wildlife rescue.

Also when people think parents abandoned it they didnt. The parents are watching it and come back later. So good job on that.
>>
It's not abandoned, it's just learning to fly
The parents keep a close eye on it and feed it while on thw ground. If it hasn't been too long you should try to put it back where you found it so the parents can find it.

Hey /an/
I'm currently looking at adopting a Corgi puppy! The only problem is, there are so many breeders that I don't know which one to pick out of them all...
Do any of you guys have a recommended breeder? I live in the U.S and the only condition i have for the breeder is that they are willing to ship the puppy to a town/city near me. If you guys have a recommended breeder, please list their website/email or some way to get ahold of them. Thanks!

finally a thread where i can impart some of the knowledge i've gathered.

the pembroke welsh corgi club of america will list all the reputable breeders in the country and has a lot of other information on the breed as well

http://pwcca.org/about-the-pwcca/membership-directory/

try to go to dog shows and speak to breeders there. it shows you're committed. i don't think any reputable breeder would ship you a puppy to be honest and they'll want to see you at least once before agreeing to give you a puppy. a reputable breeder will have health tests done on their dogs. for corgis i think breeders generally have tests ran for eyesight, von willebrand disease and hips. many breeders will have waiting lists of a year. be expected to pay at least 1200 - 1500

i think that's generally what you need to know to get a corgi. i should know i want to get one myself but won't be able to for several more years if at all.

i suggest you research the breed more because i suspect you don't know much about it. i'm happy to try to answer any questions you might have

Rescued this little guy from a sewer and cleaned him up, he's really cozy and happy.

Working on getting him treatment/shots in the next 48 hours, I think he's like 8 weeks.

Definitely keeping this baby, what do you think of him?

Post more pics over the next day, he's sleeping right now.

Sup /an/, I have an older cat, about 12 years old. She has just been to the vet who gave her a full checkup and ran tests and said she was in perfect health. Why, then, does she sit in her litter box doing absolutely nothing and go in it over and over again?

>>
Did you mention to the vet that your cat was doing that?

Maybe she just likes the feeling of kitty litter on her butt

Op again, adding she has been vocalizing a lot lately, especially upon waking, which I know can be a sign of memory issues or even Alzheimer's. She has an appointment with a different vet soon, I'm not one of' those' people.

Yup, told her every quirk, and this is our usual vet so she knows the cat well. Cat is drinking, eating, voiding properly.

Should I get a nigger dog or would he turn on me sooner or later?

No, pitbulls arent inherently man aggressive.

Neapolitan Mastiffs, Dogue de Bourdeuxs, Bullmastiffs, Mastiffs, Cane Corsos or Cane de Presas or any mixes of those are fine companion/minder dogs. Start obedience with a proffesional trainer from a young age.

Buy a gun instead. It won't try to bite your face off and won't be bribed with a steak soaked in antifreeze when you need it most.

Does anyone have any experience introducing birds to pet cats?

I'd really like a finch or a budgie but one of my cats is very young, healthy and active. He'll chase a fly around all day and we've come home to dead mice before (though not eaten).

Obviously I don't want to bring a bird home just to have it killed, so I was wondering if anyone has experience dissuading predatory behavior or introducing an animal so that the cat doesn't see it as something to kill.

If you value the bird, you need to keep them permanently separated- if the cat is in the room, it is supervised and the bird is in its cage out of sight and reach, and the cat is removed from the room if it gets too close. If the bird is out of its cage or you are not around to supervise, the cat is locked out of the room. You can definitely keep both in the same household, but cats are never 100% reliable around small prey animals and they can fatally injure a bird even through bars.
>>
>>2150365
I suppose that's the kicker, then. I live in a smallish one bedroom that pretty much runs bedroom->kitchen->living room with a small side office and a bathroom, so the options for keeping them apart when not at home is to either close off a third of the roaming space to the animals or stick the bird in a windowless little office for eight hours a day. It seems cruel to me to deprive the thing of natural light and possibly a view of the outside/a larger space.

Yeah, don't get a bird.

Hello /an/, please help me

I will move this summer and plan on taking my Siberian cat with me.
The flight will be 2 hours, travel to and from the airport is 1 hour each so my cat will be in his bag for good 4 hours.

My question is which bag (pic related) is better?

I have a sleepypod air which I even have out for him now and he sometimes sleeps in it but the mesh holes seem so small/dense that I'm worried he might overheat?

And then theres the Trixie 'Shiva' bag, which has big mesh holes but here I'm worried he doesn't feel secure enough since everyone can look inside and that might stress him out more?

does anyone have any tips while traveling by plane with a cat because I'm probably stressing out more than necessary.

He's such a qt. There's not much you can do with cat while traveling, make sure to pet him and calm him as much as you can. Open the bag a little, stick your hand, scratch him or something like that. He'll know you're close and he'll feel safer.
>>
>>2150293

Thank you anon,

I know cats are territory bound so I want to try to stress him as little as possible.

Would trimming his fur a bit lower the chance of overheating?
