Not great or amazing, just good and worth playing.
Go ahead and start, OP. Whenever you're ready.
Pardon me for sound ingen like an idiot
But what do it mean when someone find certain games really comfy to play?
>>4044970
It's similar to nostalgia, it makes you feel warm and comfortable, imagining you are there.
>>4044970
>comfy to play?
Games where you remain relaxed while playing AKA comfortable.
>>4044970
>comfy
=comfortable
Is it really that complicated?

Are there any good mac exclusives other than pic related?
>>4036656
>Marathon
not anymore... https://alephone.lhowon.org/
Oh so you watched that loser's Pippin review too.
>>4036656
Escape Velocity
>Waluigi
Wario made sense because it was Mario with an upside down M, but what was the deal with Waluigi? Shouldn't it have been Ruigi? Even his in game symbol is an R, not a W.
It's a play on the japanese word Warui which means bad.
I remember being hype for this character...
And then he never appeared in any worthwhile games.
Camelot needed another character for their tennis game roster, so instead of coming up with another human character they decided to create a lame "bad" version of Luigi.
Been marathoning sakura taisen up to episode 4, what did I think?
>>4056112
you thought you were on /a/
>>4056112
That it's a pretty neat game but gets a bit stale later on but when you fight Satan it gets pretty cool.
>>4056158
I'm taking a break from playing it for a while, translating japanese is a lot of hardwork.
>Characters name is Killian
>Doesn't try to kill Ian when he's in your party
I thought you guys said Fallout 1 was well written...
>implying a guy named Darkwater would be that shallow a character
>knock on my mother-in-laws head
>>4055118
I thought you kids liked irony
I want to buy the Police Quest collection from GOG
Never played this series, it's good? Can i skip PQ 2? Looks really bad..
>>4054805
You shut your whore mouth, SCI0 games and their EGA+OPL presentation are comfy as fuck. It's just as worth playing as the others. However, you'll probably be more put off by the autistic rules of the series than the grayfix in any of them
They are pretty good games, but they're also really difficult and sometimes ridiculously unfair. I think the old PQ games look awesome, especially the second one with all those bright colors and significantly more detailed sprites than in the first one.
>>4054805
>Looks really bad..
I don't think these games are for you anon.
What's your NES controller of choice?
I use a Hudson Joycard with a Famicom to NES converter cord.
I also enjoy the NES advantage for shmups.
>>4054648
Well obviously you like the joy card, because you use it. But how does it compare to a standard pad?
>>4054653
Honestly not that different but it looks sexy and has two turbo settings for each button
I'm just using the built-in controllers on my Twin Famicom but if I ever decide I need turbo I'll look into that Joycard
Are there any worthwhile x68k exclusives that can be played without runic knowledge, outside of pic related?
Castlevania and Mad Stalker
>>4054523
I'll check out Mad Stalker. CV was on PS1, so it doesn't count as an exclusive in my opinion. I know Nemesis '90 barely counts, but it's at least a remake of a game on another system.
Even when it's possible to play them you still miss out on a lot.
Just learn the basics so you don't regret it later.
UNDERSTAND
Best DJ or Best DJ?
>>4054289
I'm gonna go with or.
PLEASE
Are there a lot of good side scrolling RPGs out there? I just finished Zelda II, Popful Mail, and Muramasa and they were all really dank.
Not retro but the first two Megaman Zero are similar to Zelda 2
if you haven't already, play wonder boy 3 or the remake that was just released
Sorcerian
Princess Crown
Symphony of the Night
Ys 3
ITT: Games from windows 3.11 that still work on modern windows.
Here's The Incredible Machine
dosbox shit doesn't count
16 bit Windows programs tend to run fine on 32 bit Windows but 64 bit Windows refuses to run them.
>>4053314
I obviously have a 64 bit system.
why does it run fine on mine?
>>4053325
Possible that you have a Windows 95 version of the game? Try running it on Windows 3.
So do physical reel slot machines fall into the realm of retro games? I know many are made after 1999 but generally they haven't changed much since the advent of the Random Number Generator.
>>4053010
Good question.
Don't often see pinball discussed either.
>>4053014
The IGT S+ machine I own is from 1994 but the newer S2000 and Vision machines are more recent even though the basic tech is the same.
How fucking annoying is DOS box? With having to mount C drive and shit every time you want to play.
Just drag and drop the game exe into the dosbox icon. Should mount automatically.
Just properly edit your autoexec bat.
>>4052964
There's several front-ends available that will let you create and save configurations for each game. You should be using one of them if you are serious about using Dosbox.
