My personal favorite is Streets of Rage 2, but for a less obvious answer I'm gonna go with Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun. The game itself is decent but the soundtrack is its strong point.

It didn't. It sold extremely well. They didn't make enough to meet demand and that pissed people off, but they sold out pretty much instantly. You know that, OP. This is weak bait.
>>4039228
Yes but there were ways around that, like using a different controller or an extension cable.

best retro pokemon clones?

not limited to the gameboy
33 posts and 12 images submitted.
>>
>>4039163
I wouldnt call it a clone, but Dragon Quest Monsters is my go to game.

I like it more than Pokemon because monster breeding is an essential mechanic. Its the only way to get better monsters earlier than catching them with meat (which can be tough. Especially catching the same damn monster since the rates plummet dramatically if you crrently have one. You have to EARN that Gold slime), and building skillsets up.
By the end-game you have three machines of destruction pitting them against three other machines of destructions.
And the final boss is actually tough on that first playthrough.

The DS games dont quite have the same charm, but they are still pretty good.

I want to emulate PS1 games, the most recommended here is Mednafen but is a pain to configure it, i'm sticking with ePSXe but it also difficult to configure and making the games look good (Xenogears for example which is I'm currently playing). Is there another PS1 emulator or a friendly user Mednafen interface? No Retroarch please i also had problems with that shit.

There's no canon reason he's a plumber or Italian. Italy doesn't exist. He's probably from outside the Mushroom Kingdom. There are other humans, like Peach.

Thread for flash cart discussion. Talk about which carts you own, which carts you want to own, which carts you would or would not recommend, etc.

I've been saving up some money for a while now and was looking to get flash carts for my SNES and N64. I was thinking about the ED64Plus for the N64 since it's compatibility is comparable to an Everdrive, but I'm having a hard time deciding on an SNES cart. I feel like the SD2SNES, even though it has the best compatibility, is kind of a waste to buy now since they're still rolling out features like FX compatibility. I like the enhancement chip feature that the Super UFO Pro 8 has (you can plug in any game with an enhancement chip to play other games that use that chip), but I've heard that this doesn't really work and that otherwise the SUP8 is pretty mediocre. Would the Super Everdrive China Version be a good buy? I could miss out on playing enhancement chip games if it means saving quite a bit of money. What are your opinions on this /vr/?

>you can plug in any game with an enhancement chip to play other games that use that chip
You can't. I believe that this idea is a result of bad Chinese English. I have one and I tested this claim. You can only play a rom of the specific game you have plugged in. All the cart swapping and rebooting DID end up screwing up the firmware though so mine no longer reads from its SD card rendering it worthless before I even got around to testing if a romhack of the game like for example an english translation would work or not. The only reason to get a UFO over a chinese Super ED is if you want to backup existing SRAM saves you have emotional attachments to on your carts.
>>
>>4027445
I have a super everdrive china. It takes a long time to switch games, 30-60 seconds for the rom to be flashed, but otherwise works fine. Get the SD2SNES if this bothers you, but don't count on future chip support.
>>
>>4027469
You can actually, it just shows a black screen. Mine still works

Hey /vr/, I've been looking into obscure fighting games and ran into the Asuka 120% Burning games. Any particular one better than the rest? Any I should avoid?

I'm also open to other similar recommendations.

The older versions of the game use different sprite art, unfortunately I was never able to find a .bin .cue download with the music tracks intact. Just a bit of trivia.

Also the game is absolutely broken garbage, nobody plays it seriously. It's only good for doing stupid MvC style dashing air combos
>>
At least unlike Variable Geo this was never a porn game as far I'm aware. Also if you're into total shitfest games check out Pretty Fighter X on the Saturn, it's one of the worst fighters ever made.
>>

There's basically a saturn romhack made by the original devs in 1998 called limit over with balance changes and new moves. I'd check that out.

check previous versions to see if you can still get your all-clear savestate, otherwise just play the game again

also, I'm really confused at how the fuck you managed to overwrite your all-clear save anyway after opening a new file, the all-clear one should still be in your sram
