I want to buy a SNES lookalike controller which is actually decent. I've done my research (even read some archived threads) and I've narrowed it down to an 8bitdo sfc30 controller or a Buffalo's.

8bitdo's is supposed to be really high quality but pricey and Buffalo's controller high as well but cheaper. Thing is, I got the feeling some people give Buffalo the edge because of the price, but I want a comparison without taking price into regard.

Also, I know if I buy a xbox 360 or ds3 controller I can play a lot more games but I really want a SNES looking one (I will be buying a NES controller as well) because I want to play the game with the feel of the original controller. I know I could buy an original one but I don't trust buying second hand devices that are >20y old. So save yourself the trouble of telling me to get one of those instead.

tl;dr 8bitdo sfc30 vs Buffalo while completely ignoring the price in your judgement.

>Buying a snes controller for emulation

Why not get a controller that can do it all? I mean you already fucked up but emulating on your pc anyway
>>
>>4095971
why respond with that when I already told I don't care.

Get one of these. Use an official SNES controller.

Also, use a ps4 controller for steam.

>slowdowns out the ass (thanks, Super Nintendo CPU)
>double the amount of autoscrollers from Ghouls 'n Ghosts
>green armour weapons and gold armour magic are too overpowered
>rehashing Ghosts 'n Goblins' final boss for stage 5/6's boss designs

I give this game a 3/10. The first two arcade GnG's were far superior.

You forgot about having to play through the game twice to get to the final boss.
>>
>>4091264
Worst GnG but still 8/10 minimum, play a version that fixes the slowdown.

Only serious problem is that most of the weapons are garbage even by the standards of the series.

Does one actually exist?

Look, 16-bit is fun and all, and I definitely love my Sega Genesis, SNES, and TG16, but let's get some 8-bit love in here.
Atari 2600, 5200, and 7800
Colecovision
Odyssey 2
Intellivision
Astroboy Starcade
Lets talk about the good stuff. Hell, someone come bring out one of those 1970's pong machines.
Earlier today I was playing Star Raiders and having a blast. What are some of your favorites, /vr/?

This and the first episode being the only good one.
The art in the first real level of the second episode is also a ridiculously cluttered mess and the fact that every episode ends with the same boss is also disappointing.

Tetris. and that's coming from a big Dr. Mario fan

I grew up playing some hard games on Genesis and Gameboy, and always had fun with it, even if I had to try completing a level several times. However, nowadays whenever I think about playing retro games I always remember I get frustrated and because of that I end up wasting time and not being able to complete it. Like, yesterday I had to se tons of credits on Altered Beast arcade in order to complete it.
How do you cope with it? inb4 git gud

One isn't naturally good at these games, you just have to practice and find good practice methods.
>>
>>4104735
So basically get frustrated countless times...
>>
>>4104774
well you could fix that by not playing shit games like altered beast

Hello /vr
I need some enlightment on which cdr brand to use for burning games to play on retro consoles (sega cd/ps1/etc). Last time i checked taiyo yuden was bought by CMC Magnetics. What about that one?
Is CMC a bad choice?
There is a lot of them in my country but i dont want to burn bad quality cds

>>
Verbatim, Memorex and Sony were the brands I used back in the day.
>>
Verbatim Azo.
>>
Whatever you end up using don't fall for the 'burn at slowest speed' meme. I keep having to say this, even on /vr/, but anything less than half the discs max speed is going to be a shit burn. 24x speed is the absolute minimum.

MS's stuff before the xbox has fallen into deep obscurity, hell lots of xbox first part titles have been forgotten too but the obscurity is what makes it fun.
For example MS's gamepads and joystick's never heard of people talking about them when pic related should be a meme by now because of how weird it looks.

Microsoft's gamepads, joysticks, and mice are considered top tier shit by most people. Nobody talks about it because it's generally agreed that the intellimouse, sidewinders, etc are fucking amazing and that's all there is too it.
