How many people here have tried UV-resistant coatings on their systems to prevent them from yellowing again.
>>4100278
2 people have tried it
>>4100464
I heard a third guy was considering it, but wanted to know if it worked for the other guys first.
Stop placing it out in the sun faggots
Put that shit in a shelf or something
What great games have never gotten an English translation, not even a fan translation?
>>4100094
>great games have never gotten an English translation
good news, almost none
>>4100094
Pacman.
Super Robot Wars 64, and all the pre-2001 YUGIOH Duel Monsters games.
It took a few playthroughs to grow on me, but I think this is my favorite in the series now.
>feels faster than X1
>more challenging than X1 but not as frustrating as X3
>several crazy item locations
>fire dash for more mobility
>X Hunter stage music
>fighting optional bosses for a different ending
>getting the shoryuken and then steamrolling the end gauntlet with it
The music and bosses aren't as iconic as X1 but still pretty good. What do you think?
Magnet Mine is the best weapon out of the SNES trilogy.
>>4100082
My favorite. I think X1 is a better game overall, though.
>>4100082
You have good taste anon. I adore X1 for what it introduced to the series but X2 is the superior game. The biggest problem a lot of people have with it is that it actually tried to have a story line in the game itself which killed a lot of the "pacing". X1's story was told via the manual and the ending cutscenes of the game. X2's was told via the manual AND the entire game. I loved the X-Hunters, even if it felt like a waste of time to some, who can fucking complain about MORE bosses to fight. That's fucking awesome. My order would be X2>X1>X3>X4>X8>X5>>>X6>>>>>>>>>>>>X7
What was the last good Sonic game?
Sonic 1
>>4100075
Sonic 2for the Master System.
>>4100075
Sonic Battle
Anyone else like this game besides me? I seriously don't think it's that bad.
>>4100008
You didn't even play it, you just watched some e-celeb sperg out on it.
>>4100017
Don't listen to this guy. he sounds salty about something.
>>4100008
I haven't played it, no. But ill put it on my radar. I have a tendency to like "bad " playstation games (not saying that this is bad).
I admit that I have a soft spot for 70% of the games on the PS1. They win me over in one way or another. Thanks for the post OP.
>>4100436
>I have a tendency to like "bad " playstation games
I feel this way about "bad" gamecube games. TMNT 2K3, Batman Vengence, Spider-Man, etc. I think it's just that I'm starting to feel nostalgia for that era in gaming. I was 11 years old when the Gamecube launched.
Serious question
>>4099903
No. Even if you use a walk anywhere cheat, you can't interact with the landmarks on them.
>>4099903
Not in 12000 BC, but the one to the right on the image (with the blue triangle) is actually what becomes the Forest Ruins in 600 and 1000AD.
And the one on the left is the Sun Shrine/Sun Temple which you can only access in 2300AD.
>>4099914
>No. Even if you use a walk anywhere cheat, you can't interact with the landmarks on them.
Pretend that cheat doesn't exist
THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO GET THERE
I mean Square had to put a hidden entrance there, right?
looking into it and want to know if its worth it
Yes, the gameplay is tight if you like arcade-ish flight simulation.
The sequel is also recommended.
>>4098593
Most comfy game of my childhood. Dreamy.
>>4098596
>if you like arcade-ish flight simulation.
What if I want moar?
My brother and I are building a cab for his kids, for which I am supplying all the guts. The main plan was to set it up with Retroarch (I'm sure they can handle it once it's set up no problem), but this is also gonna be available for any of their friends that come over, so I'd like to basically set this thing up for the lowest common denominator of humanity. As such, I looked into Hyperspin.
I haven't looked at HS in forever, and when I did, I saw that they have all these systems and pre-loaded drives for sale now, but the pages that they're for sale on, and the videos they use to advertise them, are laughable at best. However, one of those pre-loaded HDDs or USB drives would basically be perfect for my needs, especially since the HDDs say:
>Through an easy process you can add or remove contents from the Hyperspin System. By this way, the screen will show you only the content that you prefer. Moreover, you can create your own personalized version. Besides, you can also hide the OS startup to get a more realistic arcade simulation.
Dear Hyperspin Systems, please hire an editor that isn't ESL...
So the question is: does anyone have any experience with these guys? Are they legit and just need to stop letting their kid design their website, or is this as much of a scam as it looks? I tried to find reviews for their products, but most everything I came across was "how to set up" or just some video of people scrolling through menus.
tl;dr - are Hyperspin products shit or OK?
>>4098563
Dude. If you even need to ask you've already lost.
>>4099043
A classic /vr/ response.
>>4099068
Fucking idiot. >>4099043 is completely right. HS makes all these claims and then falls flat. But don't listen to us, go ahead and buy a drive. And then spend as long getting it to work right and configuring everything as you would from scratch because for whatever reason it's not going to "just work". GL!
I am using a Wii hooked up to an LCD tv via component for retro emulation. I am getting noise that is especially noticeable when the screen is dark. Why?
I get the same distortion on my official Nintendo composite cables and a variety of other component cables. Even tried another Wii and a PS3, same result. Even looks the same on my other LCD tv.
TV expert, only saw this once before it's literally a fucking ghost and its inside of your wii. probably harmless.
>>4098471
I have no idea what that is or what it's meant to look like.
why haven't you played Super Metroid with the Justin Bailey patch?
Ugliest sprite I've ever seen.
>Just a psuedo nude mod
>Doesn't feature monster sprite sex with Samus
Pointless tbqh
>>4098223
Because I'd rather stick my dick in a woodchipper than play that overrated piece of shit game again.
This game actually sucks.
>unskippable 5-second jingle every time you get a new item
>can't remap diagonal aiming to non-shoulder pad buttons
>the intro and Tourien are too "cinematic"/pointless
>awful bosses that are too easy (except RNGtoon)
>Screw Attack is more or less God mode
>>4097934
You're an idiot. Sage in all fields.
>>4097934
Not sure if trolling or being contrarian for the sake of it/just to be edgy, but those opinions are pure shit and literally nobody else thinks that.
>>4097934
I'm trying to remember this old-ass late 80s early/mid 90s game. It was an adventure point and click with some combat elements. You fought shit like rabbits and there was a time limit where a dragon would hatch from its egg and destroy everything. The protagonist looked somewhat like Guybrush and I distinctly remember a part where a she-vampire would kill you in a castle if you picked the wrong options.
Quest for Glory 4 : Shadows of Darkness?
>>4097219
yes, this was exactly it
thank you
>>4097219
Is this game closer to RPG games, or Point and click adventures?
Is it just me, or did Williams crank out some of the best arcade games next to Atari and Namco?
I own a beat-up Defender and would kill for a Robotron or Joust some day. Anyone else like these games?
>>4096654
Hell yeah made some great games, love me some Bubbles and Sinistar.
>>4096654
their arcade games are great, but i feel like they did pinball better than arcade cabinets.
>>4096654
ROBOTRON is A++ best game. I find Joust very frustrating. Defender I never spent too much time with.
What are the best multiplayer/coop retro games?
TMNT III: The Manhattan Project
Golden Axe games were pretty damn fun back in the day.
Hello /vr/, I made a thread here about a week ago saying that my PS1 was unable to read backup discs via the swap method (specifically backups of LSD). Since then I was able to get my PS1 to boot up Einhander, but it got stuck on the first wait screen every time. I got another PS1 and it's working a bit better; LSD still won't load, but Einhander and FFVII do. The only problems are that the FMVs are very choppy and Einhander doesn't have sound when playing (didn't test FFVII for this). Adjusting the laser voltage (slightly raised) helped a little, but I still can't play my backups. Is there anything else I can do to try and fix this or will I have to get another PS1? I haven't tried burning the games at 1x yet, but I don't know where I could find a 1x burner (my old computer only goes down to 4x, which I figured would be good enough). Thanks again for your help guys!
>inb4 "lol just buy the games", I'm poor
>>4096362
Slight correction: Einhander does have when playing, just no music (I'm assuming the music is read like the FMVs are)
Replace the drive mechanism completely with a brand new one for like $15 and/or use better media e.g. taiyo yuden at a lower burn speed. You'll figure out the right speed for your media on your burner.
>>4096362
does it have problems with legit discs?
