>cheapest 1070 is $500 new
>only alternative is vega
what games are you running that need a 1070 anyway?
just go with something lower end, you don't need it
mining boom is crashing anyway
Probably pick up a cheap 1070 from miners selling en mass soon

>mfw for the first time in my life I bought a video card and checked the price six months later only to see that it's going for $90 more now
It's a good feeling, though I suppose this sucks for you slowpokes.
Stop playing Brutal Doom.
Stop playing Sonic Robo Blast 2.

Give me a good FPS then. At least BD has some attention to detail and TECHNOLOGY

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Defend this
and this
its ok when BB does it
You have 10 seconds to make a Paper Mario partner and rate the others you see.
Is this the stealth Pro Mode thread?
I'm a little disappointed in the difficulty past Chapter 2 once Power Plus is available. On a side note I never knew you could give Anti-Guy a lemon drop in the base game, found out by accident because I'm an autist that likes citrus confectionaries.
Reposting this from the last thread.
>First partner's a gangster Shy Guy that's only working with you out of fear of getting caught by the cops, instead of tattling he rats out other enemies
>Second partner is a former Dayzee musician who puts enemies to sleep and can get you past Thwomps and blocked pathways
>Third partner is a Chuckya who isn't really comfortable doing what he's doing, because he's enslaving the inhabitants of an island. He can throw Mario to higher ground
>Fourth partner is a Dry Bones named Deaf who thinks he's the Grim Reaper, but he isn't, yet nobody can tell him because he's deaf. He can fit his head under narrow passageways to press switches for Mario
>Fifth partner is a Snow Pokey that can launch it's segmented body parts to hit switches, and only wants to adventure outside of the ice caps for once
>Sixth partner is a Bully who's naturally immune to the radiation affects, he rushes at doors to break them open like a Bob-Omb would do to explode them
>Seventh partner is a Bzzap! that can fly Mario across long gaps, while also having a fear of heights, flies, and oxygen in general
>Eighth partner is a Koopatrol in cardboard armor who was the tutorial boss, sad that Bowser won't notice him at all, he joins you. He hides Mario by throwing a cardboard box over him.
>Final partner is an amnesiac female Toad who appears multiple times in the game, sometimes tossing you items or disguising as enemies. She can hide Mario to help him get through the castle, but it has a recharge time and it's temporary. It turns out she's actually a Duplighost in the credits.
>Optional partners include a Torpedo Ted that's a war-veteran with PTSD that can go through water, a Magikoopa gamedev that can turn blocks into items, and a secret one that's actually just Luigi poorly disguised as a Goomba so he can adventure with Mario on these crazy Paper journeys for once

I'm thinking of joining a video game club in college. Are they full of over-enthusiastic autismos or is it just normal people?
>>385749339
The fact that you're even considering joining a video game club is proof that you're a normalfag and don't belong here.
>>385749892
t. someone who has never been in a video game club
They're always full of autistic weirdos. The one at my university was nothing but smash bros fans and that one furry kid that was wayy too into Sonic the Hedgehog
Went to one meeting and noped out of there and never came back
Join a frat you fucking virgin.
Is MGS:V the biggest peice of evidence that mainstream reviews mean absolutely nothing and should not be believed?
No it's the biggest piece of evidence that reviewers only play for a short period of time before reviewing the game. Phantom Pain is pretty darn spiffy for the first couple of hours.
>>385748924
Yeah. Deserved a 98 at the least. Fucking reviewers.
>>385748924
If a game has gone mainstream, it never lives up to the hype. This, The Witcher 3, Dark Souls, DOOM(2016), Bioshock Infinite, etc.
Let's all pay respects to the greatest video game console of all time the PlayStation 2
9/10 it was alright

I miss my PS2 big. I broke it trying to fix the disc read error
>>385748253
my disc tray won't open, fuckin ripoff
Do you care about trophies/achievements in vidya?
>>385748165
I couldn't care less.
Y-yes.
Yeah but not to the point that I'll play a game I don't like to 100% for them
A developer holds the right to apply social or political commentary and embed it into their game however sees fit. Us as the consumers hold the right to decide if the price as well as content justifies purchasing the game. Our decision can be swayed by this social/political theme that masks over the game.
Too much can mean that the game is too preachy. Shoving ideas down the throats of your consumers and you come off alienating.
Too little, you lose structure in your story. It becomes bland and uninteresting, which can cause the consumer to not return to the product.
So Here's the question: What are ways you can make a social/political commentary in your game without coming off alienating?
don't put it in
no one wants to hear what you have to say about politics
>>385748060
>What are ways you can make a social/political commentary in your game without coming off alienating?
You can't. People will always feel alienated if you make any sort of social/political commentary.

Why do DaSbabies never have a single argument against Dark Souls 3 that isn't "it's bad because I don't like it", "it's bad because DaS did it differently" or "it's bad because it's not how I wanted it to be"?
Is there anything wrong with the game or are you just shitposting?
>>385747912
>Is there anything wrong with the game
>vanilla too easy save for a few bosses
>shitty bonfire placement
>stamina cost for rolls too low
>vit sucks/there's no real poise, only hyperarmor
>most infusions suck
>no powerstance
>no bonfire ascetics
>>385747912
Their arguments are actually valid, although I don't agree with them personally. I think it's a good game.
>>385747912
Best boy ENB put DS3babies in the burn ward today by saying he might want to do another playthrough of DS2 over playing DS3 again
> tfw will never play the game of the decade for the first time again
welp
That's not Final Fantasy XV, though.

I didn't post an anime reaction face, though. What's your point?
What the fuck is up /v/
I'm looking for some good PC horror titles that aren't shit. That's asking a lot, I know, but I'm looking for something with some depth to it, not just jumpscares all the time. I just bought IMSCARED and played it all the way through to the 4 endings, and the "jumpscares" weren't even scary, but the game itself was definitely really creative and unique. Making txt files on my desktop and at one point making me change my system clock to advance a puzzle, it just felt really fucking cool to play.
I really want to replay Alien: Isolation, played it back when it came out but quit before I even reached the Alien. I've heard it's extremely good so it's installing now, but I'm just looking for anyone's suggestions regarding true horror titles. Screamer games are annoying, not scary, the brief 1 second heart attack isn't anything memorable whatsoever - but metahorror games are just fantastic. Games that know you're playing, and you know it knows. Every launch of IMSCARED was different, and the more I learned about the story, the more things I could do. It felt really dynamic and changing, especially shit like this that was left on my desktop:
https://pastebin.com/CGuSXxsC
Looks pretty fucked up on pastebin if you're not looking at the raw output, but it's a map that revealed a hidden passage. Pretty cool. Also lock.txt appear on my desktop, and instead of finding a key in the game, just deleting the file unlocked the gate. Do any other metahorror games even exist? This genre seems like, if done right (IMSCARED kind of fell flat at some points), can be simply amazing and terrifying as a storytelling medium. Playing that game almost felt inspiring to me just to create a game similar to it, but I know I don't have that ability.
>>385747553
update: just saw that a game called "I SEE YOU" was inspired by IMSCARED, and follows the same pattern. He posted an update on his gamejolt page saying this:
>Someone had mentioned that they were able to use a decompiler to decode my game and look at all the scripts and assets and recommended that I use a protection for it but the thing is I’m completely aware that I did it that way.
>I didnt protect it like that so that if people wanted to make a game like mine but didn’t know where to start they could do that and deconstruct my game and build around it.
This is pretty interesting and makes me want to fuck around with this kind of genre, I know basic programming but it'd be great to have a starting point.
I have the original Polybius file if you're interested. The one without the meme shit.
>>385748124
>original Polybius file
Isn't Polybius an arcade game? As in, an actual arcade machine that's only been rumored to exist?
The whole thing always seemed like a "spooky story" that later turned into the meme shit.
Why is this shit 10/10?
I never played it but I assume it's fucking shit from all red flag terms in reviews such as shit like 'it's not a game it's an experience' - 'it's very deep' sort of shit
>>385747307
>I never played it but I assume it's fucking shit from all red flag terms in reviews
Let me guess kid you unironically use "cuck", "red-pill", unironically browse /pol/ and came to this site a year ago the latest.

sage
Anyone still playing this? I picked it up because you fuckers have had a couple of threads on it.
The /vg/ general is fucked with a bot apparently, otherwise I'd ask there.
Im working my ways through HoT, just got to chapter 11 of the story. Why the hell are the mastery quests so fucking boring, they feel like things that should be used while going through the zone, not something that you could maybe get after grinding way after youve finished the zone.
>>385747118
I got it long ago
couldn't stand the awful story
couldn't stand the insufferable grinding
really like the landscapes
I wish they could make the grind more tolerable
GW2 combat is legitimately awful. Worse than WoW, TERA, Blade and Soul, FFXIV, all of them. There is no structure, combo fields are fucking stupid, and dodge invulnerability relegates the game to twitch based dogshit. The dungeons are just pure shitfests.
GW2 is pure trash with ZERO, and I mean ZERO redeeming factors.
I like it
