Did they seriously invent Maxwell's Demon and only use it for sword fighting?
>>55229843
I hate to break it to ya but yeah, they did
>>55229843
There's no need to seriously use it until the Stelliferous era ends.

I can't help but think that you're somewhat missing the point here.
Alright, /tg/, I need some tips.
Some mates and I are gonna play D&D for the first time ever (5e, and we're going off the premade books; we're gonna try Hoard of the Dragon Queen, followed by Rise of Tiamat if we like it). My group and I have minimal experience with TTRPGs (a couple of my mates have none), and I don't think any of us have played D&D. I'm the DM.
Can any of you guys give me some advice about how we should go about this? I've read the DMG, but I'm still a noob, and I want to make sure that I'm a good DM and that we have fun. Beginner advice in general would be great, whether it's for me as a DM or for all of us players in general.
>>55229029
Try not playing DND.
>sorry, had to do it
Involve players' inputs. Yeah, even in premade adventures. Ask the dwarf that battled the orcs about them. Ask them even frivolous things, who does the cooking?
Be ready to improvise. And yes, you will fail ai it, everyone did, it's the only way to be better.
For a game as complex as DND another player reading the rulebooks is a VERY good idea. And be ready to correct yourself, it's only natural.
Try to think more about describing shit than just rolling dice. Not necessarily big dramatic encounters, even a nice description of a monster is a good thing - use alla of the five senses, tough we know how it looks like, how does a kobold smell?
>>55229029
>D&D

>sorry, had to do it
No, you really didn't.
Playing a 3.5 game and I'm wondering if multiclassing as a Barbarian and Druid is a good idea or a bad idea. Thoughts?
>>55228766
Barbarian for just enough to get Pounce is decent. Anything past that is godawful compared to more druid.
>>55228766
Very bad idea. Spells are the best ability in the game and any multiclassing that causes you to lose spellcasting levels is a bad trade. Plus, druids have other great abilities like wildshape and animal companion that will be falling behind. And if you were going to multiclass a druid anyway, barbarian would be one of the worse options because you can't even cast spells while raging.
>>55228912
Or you could just wildshape into something with pounce and keep a level of spells.
What could have prevented this?
40k 8th is what they should have done with fantasy post-end of times.
>>55227784
Won't work since Archaon, unlike Abaddon, is destined to end the world.
I wanna pick up Deadlands, is the Savage Worlds version any good, or should I go for an older version?
>>55227025
I have Reloaded, haven't played it yet though. From what I hear, Classic has more flavor, while Reloaded is more fluid and have less involved mechanics. One way I heard it is that Classic feels like a Weird Western horror, while Reloaded feels like a horror set in the Weird West.
>Dwarven hoodlums steal your prize-winning hat.
But Anon, hoodlums only steal hoods, hence the name.
>>55226877
No, they lum hoods. Hence the name.
Has anybody ever completed this or even tried?
better format
>>55226543
No, but now that you just gave me what looks like a working template to autistically fill out all the information I could ever need on hand, I'll probably have one or two for my players that they'll never need or want.

Help me come up with a theme for my GSC army. I don't like the chemdog-esque guardsmen that they have, and I wanna convert renegades instead. Help me come up with some affordable and interesting ideas for a chaos based cult fa/tg/uys.
I've got a couple ideas, I really don't like the way whatever the guardsmen looking units look.
For chaos gods I'm either gonna choose nurgle, tzeentch, or khorne.
For nurgle, I'd use their new zombies and maybe give them more mutations than they have.
For tzeentch I'd make some of the goat guardsmen guys out of their tzaangors, and use the gladiator dudes bitz to give the mining suit guys bare chests with mutations.
For khorne, I'd like to do the blood pact and maybe still some naked chest bodies or sculpt some mutation on sigmar models.
Alright so I've decided tzeentch renegades, how can I make them look neato as GSC.
How does this make you feel?

AI did some things wrong, it did not finish the job.

Cult named "Final Rest" started gaining followers among the dezidens of space stations infected by space aids. Their followers are trying to recreate uncontrolled AI, a technology long banned and forgotten, in hopes it will cure them out of existance and take down anyone else with them.
Come on fa/tg/uys, it had a good start.
Do you ever play morally wizards?
>>55223598
Does stealing and turning to stone a princess of an elven kingdom to get a nice statue in the garden counts ?
>>55223598
>morally wizards
So what, like morally questionable > morally suspect > morally corrupt > morally bankrupt > morally wizard?
>>55223697
No, like someone whose alignment is literally "wizard".
Trying again: Anyone got rules for this game?
I've heard good things but I can't find even a sample of the ruleset out there, and I'm a huge sucker for space games.
I'm interested but hesitant to spend money on a ruleset I know nothing at all about. Anyone got even like an old version of the core rules? Or some more information on the system?
Thanks!

Seconding the request here.
These sound awesome, and I want them as my own successor to Full Thrust.Srsly, how come I never came up with rules about Roles before?

What would you recommend in place of them, anon?
I want to run Witcher themed game called Steel and Silver, which is a variant of Lasers and Feelings, with my group. It's very rules-lite and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for making it a little crunchier without going overboard?
As far as I'm aware, there's no hitpoints or any combat system at all. There's also no leveling up. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
There's no combat system, because combat is the same sort of roll.
You could add leveling up by giving more proficiencies. Ask the characters what they learnt during/after the adventure, and write it down as a prof.
There's no spell/potion system, so inventing/learning new spells could work for one.

Reminds me of this thing. Someone tried doing Vampire: The Masquerade with L&F. Horrible presentation but nice concept.
Saved.
