Trying again: Anyone got rules for this game?

I've heard good things but I can't find even a sample of the ruleset out there, and I'm a huge sucker for space games.

I'm interested but hesitant to spend money on a ruleset I know nothing at all about. Anyone got even like an old version of the core rules? Or some more information on the system?
