Who's the most cancerous MTG Youtuber? It's definitely between MTGLion, AlphaInvestments, MTGHQ, and Desolator, but which one is the most cancerous of those?

Ask /tv/ or /a/.
>>
>>51327093
Definitely Lion.

Des is just a moron who starts shit with everyone; he's essentially the Verlisify/AznEyes of the Magictube community. Alpha is just a businessman who delivers hard truths on how the business side of MTG works; nothing wrong with that. HQ is just a scapegoat, and most of the shit he's done, both Des and Lion have done much worse.

Lion is the ultimate cancer of the Magictube community because all of his videos are just clickbait designed to jack up card prices. He reminds me of the Amiibo scalpers during that craze.
>>
>>51327186
The one good thing about Lion is that at least he recognizes that what he does is bad for the game, and he continually acknowledges that. He doesn't particularly LIKE MTGFinance, but he knows that there's opportunity out there due to WoTC's outdated "collectors come first" business model, and he along with many other people use that as a business opportunity. That's just capitalism; it's easy money, so why not take it?

As for Des, there's nothing positive that can possibly be said about him.

What's your favorite low level monster? The one that you absolutely need for a low level quest to feel complete

>DM autokilling you then forcing you to spend your levels to multiclass into weird things
Dear god

A fellow player got hit by a 'you can no longer take levels of your class' thing but they signed up for potential bullshit when they did the thing and so they can't complain, there's a way around it and I even pointed out that actually they were at a prime level for multiclassing into various different things.

You could actually go pact of the blade. 5 levels of warlock nets you extra attack, which is good for rogue. It sounds really odd, but it's one of the few times pact of the blade is actually kind of good. With extra attack, you keep up with rogue damage AND get all the warlock things you can mix with rogue. And you get level 3 spells.

Or you could just keep a single level of warlock. I mean, it's not terrible. There's not really a lot you gain from a single level of warlock, and going two levels for eldritch blast doesn't really help you much either because your charisma is too low for high damage/hit chance and it doesn't sneak attack. And I don't think stuff like invocations alone is enough to justify losing out on sneak attack damage.

>>51325557
Fair enough. As long as you have PAM you should keep up with most everyone considering people probably aren't metagaming hard, though you can't use the bonus action to hex and such which is a shame.

Anons? I'm a wanna-be homebrewing with some big plans and not a lot of other sources for critique, so I could really use some help.

Races: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XovWm65MSmIzQWSMDMXo0_aIpZgq9YSa2KkpO3kThS4/edit#

I could really use help with the Forgeborn Dwarf, for starters.

Classes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-MEFIyT9jA8dlnomdEUNLIzV3ELhH3FWbcdxb0FSRTY/edit#

Two things in particular that are bugging me:
1: I want to do some Elemental Origins for Sorcerers, and I could use name suggestions for Air, Water and maybe Metal subclasses.

2: I desperately need feedback on how to balance out the "Rotheart" origin, which is a sort of Decay/Fungus Elementalist Origin for Sorcerers.

On a different homebrewing topic, I'm trying to convert a bunch of 4e spells to 5e - would Eldritch Rain (basically, Eldritch Blast multiple targets) be worth converting as a spell, or is it better suite to being an Invocation?

In your homebrew settings, how do you justify a gang of five or so plucky preteens accomplishing more then the militaries in your setting?

I ask because I'm wanting to start a campaign wherein the players find themselves as something of a tipping point between a three-way world war, but I can't find a reason why this small group of six would be able to accomplish what literally thousand of soldiers could not.

Some ork tribes enslave humies that ain't worth fighting, yeah? I imagine if said humies are injured, the orks would just krump em. But what if they didn't? What horrors would a Mad Dok inflict when a puny little humie is tossed on the table by vengeful grots? What cries of pain and agony would be heard until the their life is snuffed?

Siege of Castellax had a scene where a captured (through some backstabbing shenanigans) Iron Warriors skull was opened for the purpose of jamming cables into his brain, extracting intel on the IW fortress. Ofcourse, being a character he fought himself free with his fists, reclaimed bolter along with a dirty handerchief wrapped like turban around his exposed thinky bitz.

>>
Try watching heist movies? They are a different, but similar genre which is usually focused on a team of criminals with different specialities.
>>
>>51320496
I've been thinking about running one such game. I have several ideas:

>PCs are all assassins and they need to do a Hitman style job with improvising on the scene and a lot of clothesswapping
>MGS3 style game where they need to crawl through a jungle/mountain/dessert and some facilities to stop the evil whatever
>Splinter Cell game where the PCs actions may stop one bad thing, but may also cause international incidents

I've always pictured it as a split team of operatives, acting together in close proximity, trying to do the job like clockwork. If any of them wants to be a handler or whatnot, I'd also be glad, but let's be honest, the real action's on the field.
>>
>>51320496
The thing about vidya assassins is that they always conveniently find their targets vulnerable and isolated or near some kind of item or system that can easily be made to backfire, as if they're asking to be killed. Nobody who fears being killed has such lax security. You usually need a team for that kind of stuff, and a lot of planning. Let's say the team wants to poison someone, then they need to arrange the poison, they need to arrange someone who has access to the kitchen (if it's a large event the kitchen is almost never empty so they probably need a mole already on location), they need a way for the mole to sneak in the poison, and they probably need one of their own to act as a waiter to make sure the single poisoned plate or glass arrives in the hands of the intended target. They probably need to feign ignorance when the target dies and then find a plausible way to remove themselves from not only the crime scene but also employment, false IDs too.

So how I'd run such a game is:
>Announce target
>Have them spy on the target, gather information from him, find reliable informants on the inside etc.
>Based on this information, have them decide on a preferred method
>Gathering everything needed for the hit
>Execution of the hit itself
>Aftermath

An example I really like from one of the Hitman games is one where the target needs to undergo a heart transplant. An option in that scenario is to simply sabotage the heart rather than directly confront the target, killing him in a way that's not only incredibly subtle but could easily be made to look like an accident. But hospitals have really tight security so getting inside in the first place should be a challenge unto itself.

That's very social and (ideally) there's no violence other than against the target (if you need to use more violence than that, it's probably because you failed and you're desperately trying to get out). I have no idea what system would suit that kind of play.

How good are bombs in X-Wing, speaking generally?
>>
>>51320274
I love me some seismic charges. the fact that they are free to deploy makes them very good for opportunistic use, and just having them equipped works as a deterrent, keeping the enemies on their toes when navigating.
I haven't really tried out any action based mines yet though, not sure how good they are.

Fun facts about Peter Cushing!
Carrie Fischer noted that she felt bad being so snarky to him on camera when he was the sweetest guy off camera. Especially the line where she chides him about his "foul stench" when he literally smelled of lavender.
Cushing would gargle mouthwash and splash lavender water on his skin before filming just to make sure he didn't smell bad to his fellow castmates.
He was an avid wargamer and collected and painted miniatures for historical battles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEC7dsFlvIE
He's also famous for having complained that he felt upstaged by the special effects in the movie. In reality he meant it as a joke and said that his biggest regret was dying in the first one meant he didn't get to be in any more of them.
If only he knew...

Tooru can do limited time manipulation, limited shapeshifting, localized fire blasts, reshape weather, superspeed and superstrength, confusion magic (humans won't see her while in dragon form), clean clothing with her saliva and bring about Armageddon.

She used to be able to open doors between her world and ours but being on Earth weakened her and took that ability away from her. Do remember that she arrived on Earth to die in peace.
Tooru is neither the oldest nor the most powerful dragon there is. She's also an evil dragon.

>Step away! She has brought truth, and you condemn it? The arrogance! You will not harm him/her. You will not harm her ever again. How could you ever hope to know the threat you face, when you have never walked in the dark places of the galaxy—faced war and death on such a scale. If you had traveled far enough, rather than waiting for the echo to reach you, perhaps you would have seen it for what it was.

>There is a place in the galaxy where the dark side of the Force runs strong. It is something of the Sith, but it was fueled by war. It corrupts all that walks on its surface, drowns them in the power of the dark side—it corrupts all life. And it feeds on death. Revan knew the power of such places… and the power in making them.

>They can be used to break the will of otherr. Of Jedi, promising them power, and turning them to the dark side. The Mandalorian Wars were a series of massacres that masked another war, a war of conversion… culminating in a final atrocity that no Jedi could walk away from—save one.
