The problem is really anticipating his ability to do so as a writer. You could have him interfere in things the players do publicly, but not privately. Subtle ways are best. Perhaps one player wants to use a catapult for an objective. Maybe suddenly an axle is broken before it's moved into position. How'd that happen? It can be fixed by the players, but when it was fine before, it gives the hint that something peculiar is about.
Unfortunately though, when it comes to combat, the ability to move through time AT WILL is probably only beaten in brokenness by greater wish at will. Literally nothing should be able to hit this foe, and by all means he should just be stabbing people in the kidneys ad they round the corner in that room 30 minutes ago. There's really no good way to play that out.
This character's tone travel, from a mechanics perspective, needs something else to function. Perhaps a lengthy ritual. Maybe a magical artifact that an observant player can notice and grapple away from him before he had another chance to activate it. Maybe this villain can only go back so far. Free movement through time can make for an interesting villain, but in a TTRPG, spells trouble and headaches for everyone involved. Especially you as a GM.

In fifth edition, how does the duration of Polymorph and True Polymorph work? I'm convinced that it lasts either for one hour or as long as you can concentrate decided at casting. My friends, however, are saying that Polymorph and True Polymorph only last up to one hour if you concentrate for up to an hour (with the exception for true polymorph that it becomes permanent after an hour of concentration).
I could be incorrect, I'd like the answer from people who know better because I'm very confused on the wording.

I'm working on a rule light kind of system that me and my friends can play, something universally interchangeable as gurps without the massive headache and 60+ books
I'm looking for some opinions on what pats of tabletops people like more than others.
Attack/defense
> roll versus your opponent
> roll to beat Enemy AC
> roll under your attack skill
Dice/style
> d20's
> d100's
> d6's
> fudge dice?

Stats
> keep it simple Str/Int/Agi/Wil
> or more like 8?

what else? I'm not looking for something super complicated, we've dealt with things from Gurps to Anima and were just looking for something light (inb4 D&D, we've been there too)

As for this, man Edge works best I reckon when your players are dodging the Empire because they're running shit off the books, dodging the hutts because they're competition for running shit off the books, and trying not to be recruited by the rebellion because war is not good for making money.

Alright, after reading through a variety of threads on AoS and 40k, I have to ask: How do I get my game group away from these cancer fests of a game? I've tried demoing games like Kings of War, 9th age, Infinity, Warpath, and none of them are really swaying any ones opinion.
So, how do I get my game group to jump the boat, and play, well, better games?

The sad truth is, there's only one way.
Cut off your glans, mount it to a base, and play AoS with that as your "Counts-As" until the players get freaked out and go to 40k. Do the same thing there. Only put it away when they play better games.
