If you're a summoner, they give you 1 mana per hour that they're within 30ft of you or 2 mana per hour that you're shagging them if you upgraded.
If they're gained with the artifact, they're a friend that hangs out around you.
If they're gained with the spell, they're a friend that costs 3 mana and hangs out for 2 hours.

Whichever way you have them, they're a friend and bed-warmer that you can trust and count on, within the limits of their personality and instincts.

With Transform 2 I can actually transform my familiar to be any other type of familiar physically. Personality is a hard choice between Lamia and Kitsune, Succubus might be fun to play with too.

Not many of the items really benefit a Sorcerer. The worst thing I'd do that could reflect on me with the Sorcerer upgrade is to inflict pleasure 2 and porn physics on someone, which I'm just as likely to inflict on myself to begin with anyway. I chose to go with a permanent familiar figuring that even though I could easily resummon them every 2 hours they would need to appear where I was and would never be able to do their own thing.

In terms of taking over the world it's just a matter of using charm on the hot rich and powerful (or their wives). I bet casting it on children would help produce people of incredibly high caliber given their drive and potential immortal lifespan. Two countries at war? Would be interesting if they fell in love with each other no? Or just alter world to make people more less aggressive, more environmentally friendly, and can regenerate like lizard tails.

In terms of personal pleasure, well getting a few celebrities to fall in love with me would keep me well funded. I'll definitely be enjoying my time corrupting my angel and fairy. (At what point will it not fit?)

I'll get to break in quite a few girls too. Using alter world and normality I can make it so that me being able to pick a girl to be my slave would be normal, even if she doesnt think so. Everyone around her will push her to be a good slave. And I'll slowly break her using the pleasure and pain. Well, once she's broken I might just release her and return everyone's sense of normality. Very interesting and enjoyable CYOA, but I have a ton of questions about the spells.

First off, I assume that whenever a spell has no time limit stated it goes on indefinitely and that the mana is only spent on casting, not to maintain it.
What about dispelling though? This seems especially important with spells like Charm, if you want to let that person go free, and immortality. It actually really amuses me how many people choose the latter without a thought to the heat death of the universe. Unless that can be fixed with Alter World, but from the description it sounds like it's actually a mislabeled alter humankind. Or can you use it to change Earth's mass or give it a second moon? What about diseases? Can alter world strenghten the immune system to cure them all?

With the second level of Enslave, what happens if you summon, say, a slime girl? Does her ability to function as a slime girl count as a power?
You say Normality lasts 10 hours. Does that mean after 10 hours people may think back to what you did and possibly report it? Or if it's level 1, what if the victim of your abuse reports it (perhaps a second or third time) after the 10 hours are up?
Someone previously suggested the idea that porn physics could be cast globally with alter world with no need to get the specific spell. Is that feasible?
Finally, are the familiars valid targets for spells? For example, if charm is used on a dominant familiar can she be made into a sub instead? (Though I guess that may require a level 2 Charm?)

They always should. My rule when creating a companion character is to first think up one good thing about them, one bad thing about them, one thing they can do for you as a player, and one thing you can do for them to help them out in some material/emotional way. I also try to always describe them initially by basic archetype descriptors before giving them a name. Something that allows you to work on top of the words.

The upgraded Transform spell seems like a better bet for immortality, especially since I can drastically lower the odds of any violent death caused by other human beings with Altered World. All I'd really need to look out for are apocalypse-level natural disasters, and if humanity is wiped out, why would I want to survive? Plus I can grant it to others just as easily as the Immortality spell could. I'm pretty sure Transform will be the spell I use most often in my long, long life.

If I may though, a few things I'd like to have farther clarified:
Should I assume then from your answer that with some exceptions (like Enslave) spells cannot be dispelled (again, particularly Charm and Immortality)?
So it is possible to Charm familiars, ok. Does it require the upgraded version to make dominant ones into subs or will level one suffice? (Or does it depend on just how dominant the familiar is?)

All in all, very good CYOA.
Though I've got to say, the familiar system seems to be rendered pretty much null by spells like enslave and transform, the former being able to summon them indefinitely without having to buy any specifically and the latter allowing you to turn one into the others you didn't choose or even turn a regular human into them. Naturally this does not reproduce their personality and powers, but you could just find someone with a similar personality and the majority of them don't really have powers.

Maybe you should update this to give each familiar an unique power they can use to the player's benefit.

Any chance you could up the max mana for mage, summoner and ritualist? I feel like sorcerer's ability to continually cast infinite amounts of magic is just too strong.
In the best case scenario, using wand to case 1 mana spells with a parasite suit to net you an extra 24 mana per day, the ritualist could cast at most 164 spells a day (doing a ritual every hour and leaving 8 hours for sleep). The summoner doing the same could manage a mere 72 spells if they're fannypacking the fairy under their pants all day long. The mage gets 72 aswell. This compared to the thousands or tens of thousands the sorcerer could cast, depending on cast times. 7 billion people * 7 mana per cast/ 164 a day = 818,576 years to cast immortality on all humans. Hell, at 1.4 million in the U.S., it would take a ritualist 854 solid days of nonstop casting T2 transform to genderswap every trans person in the U.S.
...Of course, its not as bad if you don't care to help people, but the problem remains that a summoner could only cast 72 spells a day in "optimal" conditions, and I doubt the poor fairy thats suffocating in your pants considers that optimal.

Well, it could. By being healthy (exercising, eating right, not doing things that cause cancer, etc) you increase your odds of living until significant life extension measures are invented. By living a fulfilling life (being engaged in varied activities, actually going outside, etc), you minimize cognitive decline, which is pretty important if you plan to live long. Now, our current estimated lifespans probably won't be enough to see age reversal and perfect gender change, but you should have quite a few decades left in you, which is a lot of time for science to start figuring out how to slow down aging. If you get in on that, who knows what you'll live to see. Then there's cryonics, which could easily become commercially affordable as the general level of technology rises. I wouldn't place all my bets on that, in case the principle behind it just doesn't work, but equivalent technologies could also pop up.

Of course, you'll also want to have a decent career so you can afford these things when they pop up. If you want the ultimate security, you could try becoming so great at something that you're considered indispensable to humanity.

Nothing is guaranteed, but scientific breakthroughs tend to exceed the expectations of people from a few decades earlier, and there's so many different ways it could happen.

Making everyone immune to diseases and immortal would increase the world population quite dramatically, so I'll make it so that pregnancy can only happen when both parties wants it, and I'll modify the desire to have children to keep population levels at a good point.
The others powers are just for screwing around both figuratively and literally.

The description doesn't say they are real either though. So it would be an assumption either way, whether we believe the spell only creates a lifelike simulacra or whether we believe the spell is actually powerful enough to create a fully developed genuine lifeform out of nowhere, complete with memories and personality based on a work of fiction.
And then there's the issue of dispelling which "sends them back from whence they came", in the case of fictional characters being the non-existant realm of fiction.
That'd make the upgraded Enslave pretty darn macabre. Though this is not to say that couldn't be the case. If you want to know for sure which way it is, I guess you'll have to ask the author.

In the RPG, Arcane ended up being much weaker than the other spheres, so that an Arcane wizard could lift a brick at the same skill level that a T&T user could crush a car.
