What do you think about people who always want to play as nobles?
>>51787296
their not strong enough to play a metal head and need things on a silver platter
>>51787296
People who "always" want to play as any one, specific thing or background are generally boring.
When it comes to people playing nobles every time, it feels like one step below "chosen by fate, possessed by demons, housing a massive hidden power," etc. on the scale of wanting to be a special snowflake.
>>51787296
>not playing a dispossessed noble looking to return themselves to glory
>not playing a wild count with nothing but acres of forest to his name, leaving home to make a name for himself adventuring
>not playing the party diplomat/wannabe leader, only to acclimate to a role that everyone is happy with as part of your character's growth from a participant in the party to a part of it
>not playing a rat bastard who wants to gain power at any cost, only to decide that the best way to reward those who have stuck around him(the party) is to try and raise them up with him
Go nuts.

Who are your favorite applicants in Wrath of the Raunchy? Who would you want on your team?
How do I become a meme?
>First session of my new campaign
>Party is on an airship, going about the decks
>One PC is gambling, another is smuggling food into his shirt, another is minding her own business at a table while the fourth is up on the main deck
>Captain announces that they're headed for a storm and requests that everyone return to their rooms
>Three hours later, the captain announces that the ship is going down and everyone should brace for impact
>The female PC goes to the top deck and sees there is a large hole in the airship and deduces that a fireball impacted with it
>Launches herself off the ship, relying on a trinket with featherfall on it to guide her to safety
>As the airship careens towards the surface, she sees another fireball come flying out of the forest and crash into the ship again
>As she lands, the ship explodes, and she manages to find the other PCs alive but unconscious
>As she wakes them up, the natives in the forest find them and take them back to their village
>The party learns that some of the hunters have reported seeing the dead walking about in the forest and are asked to handle it as the tribe venerate the dead and cannot bring themselves to harm their ancestors' bodies
>Party makes their way through the forest, fighting some skeletons, and come across a cave that is magically sealed
>A strange, masked man confronts them and tells them that the necromancer they seek has already fled and that the trees themselves cry out for justice
And then the game ended because my computer decided to restart.
How did your last session go?
So this is a medium fantasy world, and an alternate timeline to our own. Here's some things that happened.
>Rome never fell, but it had gotten a little smaller than it was
>Christianity faded into obscurity before it could become popular. So no christian kingdoms rose, no crusades happened, and of course the pope doesn't even exist
>Magic and magical creatures reemerged some time in the mid 1200's, which lead to the beginning of the formal study of magic, Titan cults, and Cryptozoology becoming a legitimate field of study just to name a few things
>Britain was annexed by the Norse Empire in 1431 A.D., and then broke off into their own empire in 1560 A.D.
>Ancestor worshipers in England(?) exiled to the new world in 1614 A.D., calling themselves "The Righteous". This new land would be called Liefheim, named after Lief Erikson.
>Civil war happens in what would have been America, with the south winning.
>Industry boom of course happens, but magical devices are also advanced in this revolution
That leads us to here, the Great War. So /tg/, any blanks that need to be filled in? Also, post pics like this.
>
>>51806525
>any blanks that need to be filled in?
At this point it becomes whatever the hell you want it to be, because the point of deviation from our history is so far removed from the point where this Great War happens that everything in between is utter and complete speculation.
>>51806525
Premise seems a little too goofy and hard for me to follow. Since it's basically got no historic elements, why not set the whole thing in a fantasy setting?
I'd probably make Wizards references.
>>51806525
>rome never fell but only got a bit smaller
It would probably be mass war on rome

Song of Swords is a a tabletop RPG centered around realistic medieval fightan' with a ludicrous variety of weapons and fighting styles, centered around a dice pool system. It's currently in beta, and can be used for both fantasy and historical games. Kickstarter is happening NOW we are kicking ass baby!
Call of the Void: Ballad of the Laser Whales is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

Alright, let's get this one rolling.
Kinda proud of the Exploit variant on the left.
Hi, I'm pretty new to creating cards, so I decided to make some based on characters my group's Dungeon World campaign. I can't get the power/toughness block to display properly, though, so can someone help me fix it?

Whatcha been doing since the last thread, /gdg/
I've been working on a bunch of mechanics and I have about enough to redo the character sheets, so I'm working on that right now
I'm sure there's still lots to be done, but at least i'm doing something, right?
>>51724703
Nothing much. Art has been delayed due to prolonged sickness of the artist, and I've started building the next project because most of the Misfortune doesn't need almost any design anymore.
>>51724703
Good to see you're still active.
I've been struggling with some game mechanics since I decided to change how bonuses work. I may simplify a few of them to prevent bloat.
>You woke me
Your most recent character/party finds the wishmaster
What happens?
How bad of an idea is putting this in a WoD campaign?

I wish you were free
>>51812297
>WoD
>Hunter
Does research on Djinn until he can find a way to kill/banish it.
>>51812297
Our party actually encountered a Djin a long while ago, whole encounter went pretty fast, 10/10 would do again.
>The rogue asks for gold, floor he is standing on turns to molten gold and he burns to death
>Wizard asks for infinite power, instantly disintegrates from overload
>Barbarian asks for a good fight, is teleported to Verdun to live out his endless fight ala Groundhog day.
>Bard asks to be irresistably sexy to all members of the opposite sex, princess passing by in her carriage crawls out and starts to have sex with him. Shit is so cash, except king gets word of it and has him flayed alive then fed to pigs.
>The paladin does not ask for anything because he will not have truck with daemons and quickly banishes Djin to the immaterium
Genies are a bit of a trope, but honestly, 99% of WoD is a trope. Go ham with it, it's good for a laugh if nothing else.
GUILD BALL GENERAL!
Who is the best guild and why is it the Engineers?
>>51809909
You mean alchemists right?
>>51809909
You can chase your ridiculous leather sphere around like some kind of brain-addled moron, but the Butchers know that the best way to win is to physically incapacitate the enemy team with lethal force. Anything less is for children.
>>51809946
Alchemists aren't bad, they just can't compete with the Engineer's in season 3.
Season 3 put scoring points through goals front and center and it fundamentally improved the game, so when you have a team that is pretty much 100% about ball control and the weakest standard team mate still has a 3/6" kick, it is an offensive power house that you will have to answer to the entire time.
Couple that with the entire thing being able to go completely mech when Locus drops later this year and the regeneration that comes with that and you have a pretty nasty, tanky, shooty all-arounder.
They are far from indescructible, of course, because a lot of the mechs have very limited playbook moves, but on the whole, their all around stats just can't be ignored as some of the best out there.
What are some entertainment, sports, etc. that is in your world. Bonus points for music/music styles.
>>51809676
One in my world which is very, very popular and dangerous is Intertial Dropping. So, a pilot drops down onto the ground from a good hight of 10,000-20,000 feet, all the way to only a few yards or inches from the ground, the pilot has to withstand lots of G-forces, and usually there is a high morality rate. The glider is usually 30-50 meters long and propelled by solid-fuel.
>>51809716
Another even riskier version of this shit is by dropping down with a JETPACK and pressurized suit! It's really fucking dangerous.
I have a low-tech-sci-fi where it's possible to switch bodies, Altered Carbon style, so here goes.
Zero-G ball. The "field" is a sphere, filled with various floating debris and rocks. The goals are at poles.
Zero-G murderball. See above, except that all the players are armed with machine guns and explosives and are allowed to use them at each other or the arena.
Comet running. Racing on a small light spacecraft to the surface of a comet through its tail, which is filled with debris, erupted material, and other nasty bits.
Good old deathmatch. And the team deathmatch. And CTF. And other stuff like that.
Hello /tg!
I've been wanting to get into 40k for a while, and I've not really got any idea on where to start. A few mates directed me here, so I thought why not ask here?
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone of you fine chaps would be able to give me a rundown of the armies and how they play? I'm thinking of either starting off with dark/blood angels or space wolves, mostly because I find the designs pretty cool. Cheers!
>>51809098
1d4chan isn't necessarily the best resource for 40k stuff, but the links to individual army pages have some useful tips and tricks. As for how each army plays, you may want to head over to the 40k general (>>51805158) - there's usually a fairly good spread of armies on there so people can speak from experience.
>>51809098
Thanks to Dark Vengeance and Ebay, Dark Angels are probably the cheapest army to collect right now. Marines are also fun and fairly easy to play and paint, so if you like their fluff that's a great place to start.
>>51809320
Oh, okay. Thanks man!
So things happened and now I'm DMing for a group of dedicated ERPers. This honestly sounded kind of fun at first; I can go full magical realm and it's not like this party of tiefling sisters with dicks is gonna tell me to knock it off.
But then I sat down and realized I don't really have any good super fetishy ideas. I don't want to come off like a prude, so I want some stories about times your tables have gotten lewd I can shamelessly steal from.
>>51806709
