You ever think that the way Americans, especially American children, see other peoples cultures, makes them seem more interesting than they really are?
Take Japan during the 80's. Now picture the way American's viewed it compared to the way it really was. In reality, it was more like 1950's america, put when a 13 year old kid pictured japan back then all he could think of were Ninja and Samurai and Martial Arts and Mystic Chinamancers.
They were put under the spell not by what your culture was actually comprised of, but by how it their culture was presented, how it was perceived by others.

There is nothing wrong with saying "Go America!" if you're not jamming your foot up someones ass.

I saw Red Heat for the first time a few years ago. its alright.
And obviously people see foreign places as exotic. That's been the case since forever.

How do you think kids from other countries see america?
Do you think they look up to us? Do you think they still want to go there?

Depends on alignment.
The good ones will "when in Rome" it, seeing things from their own culture's perspective but doing their best to learn the new ways and integrate themselves.
Evil ones will demand their values be left alone, until they can overpower or outnumber the local culture, at which point it's my way or your children fucking die.

Try to fit in, maybe call on some knowledge he picked up in an old book.
At best, he ends up sounding about a hundred years out of date. At worst, he's completely helpless but for technically speaking the language.

I lost my last reply due to being busy. Here's my updated pathfinder list. I dropped toys and had points for one more boy and some gear for the Shas. Spec also got a pistol just in case his rail rifle shits the 8+ ammo save.

Doesn't look so bad, except you can't take a splinter rifle
also I don't think debutantes are worth it, saving 10 points just doesn't make sense to me, I'm running seven total:
Syren power sword, blaster pistol
Bloodbride net+impaler+grenades
Wyches with splinter pistols and wych blades
Then a bunch of mirror helms, including syren, bloodbride, some wyches
Parry is incredibly good, especially when you're relying on CC the way wyches do

Hi TG, I'm a programmer for games and I decided to try something a little new instead of working for a company. I'm going to program a game requested by other people and make it public and free. I just need help from you guys. Post any ideas you guys have for a game you want to see me program. Keep in mind, I am shit at three dimensional games and will only do two dimensional games, but, I will do the two dimensional games, so hit me with whatever you have for an idea.

Hello, please post portfolio so we can know you're not a spastic my-first-RPGmaker-project 'tard.
As ForeverDM(tm), I like to treat my players by asking them flat out: "What would you like to see in the game?" and I try to accommodate their requests their requests as best I can. So if a player says "I want to see more Trolls" I'll actually set up an encounter with a Troll later on. If a player tells me "I want a romantic encounter" then I'll do my best to introduce a love interest that doesn't irk everybody at the table.
Well, one of my players tells me she wants to see hedgehogs in the game. Okay, I'm stumped: What's an interesting way to make a hedgehog (or hedgehogs) the focal point in a fairly typical D&D (Forgotten Realms) campaign?
>>52563265
Have the magical king of hedgehogs come to them with a request to drive evil giants out of their ancestral home.. a group of orcs that have invaded the lost valley in the mountains where magical talking hedgehogs live in huts carved into trees stumps and tiny caves.
For their help the players get magic Shoes of Speed and the service of the hedgehogs, should they need help in the future.
>>52563265
How do you avoid the problem of them whining and bitching when they get what they asked for and it turns out it isn't what they wanted?
>>52563440
That's literally only happened once, so far. But when it did, I told them after the game: "You didn't specify you wanted a FRIENDLY encounter with a troll." After that first little wrinkle all the players learned how to better phrase their requests.
Why are fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls obsessed with wolves?
It seems like everyone and their mother who is into tabletop games loves wolves. Wolf tattoos, wolf shirts, wolf art; I just don't get it.
>>52563237
Hol' up, I thought fa/tg/uys where more into bears?
>>52563258
>>52563237
Yeah, we're more into bears and reptiles. Wolves are pretty cool though.
>>52563258
Birds interest me.
Is there any sign more obvious that a player is going to be That Guy than refusing to pick an alignment for their character?
"I don't want to pick an alignment"
"Why?"
"Uh... so I can do whatever I wan- wait I mean because alignments aren't realistic"
If you hate using alignment you are chaotic evil in real life. You don't have to be a murderer to be a spastic little shit who thinks that being bad is fun.
>>52562809
Nobody loves alignments more than that guy; he can abuse them to justify his bullshit.
I'm afraid I have to tell you that you may be that guy.
>>52562809
>"Uh... so I can do whatever I wan-
You can do whatever you want anyway, it's just that if you continuously do things more in line with an alignment other than what's on your character sheet, then you're going to shift towards that.
Actions inform alignment, not the other way around. When creating your character, the alignment you write down is a statement about how you intend to play the character (the same way your race and class are), but it's not a straitjacket - you can play the character a different way if that's better for you. And then your alignment will shift, and that's all.
>Is there any sign more obvious that OP is a faggot than by making shitty bait
>"I don't want to make a thoughtful post"
>"Why?"
>"Uh... because I want attention without exerting effo- wait I mean because, no wait I'm just a sack of shit"
Think about it,
>we have godlike stamina,
>we are short-lived and would take well to a eugenics program,
>the vast majority of us take what we're told at face value as long as it's from a trusted source,
>as long as our basic needs are met, the vast majority of us aren't ambitious enough to attempt to change our position,
>and we're still intelligent enough to follow basic orders.
This concept hit me like lightning while I was moving slabs of concrete as a favor to my neighbor. What does /tg/ think?
Only if it's not too abusive and we have the illusion of freedom.
AKA: Wage Slavery, not Chatel Slaver
>>52562395
All races are slave races. There are immutable universal constants that will always bind us.
you see, that perspective is only from our limited human view.
To an alien race we could have god awful stamina but an incredible life span.
How would you do this?
Take turns being DM

We can take notes from the the Hashshashin, the Dark Brotherhood, the Faceless Men, etc.
>>52562075
The Guild of Bagpipers started as a front for a devious assassin cult.
However, over the years the guild has attracted many legit bagpipe players, which were initially allowed in to perfect the illusion.
Nowaday the guild is effectively a musician's guild safe for some morbid rituals that no one really knows the meaning of any more.
>>52562075
The cult is not picky about methods, only results, but unnecessary collateral damage is considered somewhat shameful and the mark of an unskilled assassin.
all kinds of assassinations are allowed; with little cliques forming for assassins that prefer one particular kind.
Explosions, berserker rampages, and even the classic "slip in and get out unnoticed" style all have it's group.
Who do you think is the most famous player character /tg/? Like in the sense that the character originated as a PC from a game someone actually played and not someone real who just acts like one.
Deedlit from Lodoss would have been my contender, but with the rise of popular actual play Twitch and Youtube shows it's likely one of them has the PC that holds that spot.
Vin Diesel's Melkor might be an honorable mention except I don't think much is known about him other than he's a drow witch hunter.
I would say Old Man Henderson, but come on, we all know that nothing in this story actually happened.
>>52561779
Probably any of the PCs from Forgotten Shit or Shit Lance that became canonized. I know multiple gods from Forgotten Shit were formerly PCs, and since that's now the Official DnD Setting that propels them to the top of the pleb pile.
>>52561848
The Dragonlance characters are in a weird spot since they were prewritten and then fleshed out via gameplay later.
You could probably argue they're the most famous pregens unless I'm missing some other examples.
>Enchanted liver
>>52561422
I was about to say something, but then I realized one of the Dantian points isn't on the liver (I think).
One is behind your naval, one is on or near the heart and the other I can't remember but I think it's in your head.
That said, you could also look at Chakra points. I think the liver is associated with one of them.

What makes the difference between good party tension (the kind that makes campaigns selfdestruct) and bad party tension (the kind that creates an interesting dynamic and good stories)? Is it the players, or the exact nature of their characters, or something else? Should the DM stop somebody from playing a PC that is intended to conflict or disagree with one or more other PCs, or does it depend on how much he trusts his players?
Signed, a DM trying to decide whether he should purposefully pick players whose PCs will conflict with each other on Roll20.
>>52561161
>Signed, a DM trying to decide whether he should purposefully pick players whose PCs will conflict with each other on Roll20.
You should not do this.
Your players should purposefully pick characters that will conflict with each other IF EVERYBODY IS ON BOARD WITH THAT IDEA.
>Why is my character with the party if he/she hates everyone within it?
>I'm going to stab the paladin to death while he sleeps because he's going to get me arrested
>Why do we have a pacifist in the same group as two Khorne berserker barbarians?
>My drow cleric is trying to turn the party evil and has a completely warped world view that is incompatable with basic morals.
This is how you'll end up if you intentionally try to foster conflict. You can't force that shit. You have to let it develop naturally from roleplay and good gameplay.
>>52561255
This. Party conflict shouldn't be a surprise, but agreed on.
Coincidentally, one of the least fun games I ever played had me play a character that had absolutely no reason to stick around with the rest and only did because we were supposed to be friends with the players and the GM talked me out of retiring the character.
