+++Departamento Munitorum Report+++
+++Iulius Caiphas+++
//Report:
The 13th Infantry Regiment Of Cypra Mundi was dispatched to a sterile world, far behind the frontline, with the purpose of helping to decomission some captured/destroyed materiel and letting the Regiment rest, at last, after 9 campaigns.
Everything was going fine. The Regiment was doing a pretty good job at blowing up every single vehicle that arrived at its base.
//Continue:
The defenses were pretty solid: Kilometers of trenches ran around the base, backed up by walls and bunkers. It seemed invincible. The Cyprians were known for their good defensive tactics and fortifications.
When the fight intensity decreased, the materiel stopped arriving at the base. So, the Guards got bored. Started to work up, game with cards and die, and losing time in general. That was annoying for me. But the Commissars couldn't care less. The Chaplain of the Regiment was lost for days, and the TechPriests started to make modifications to the few vehicles remaining, so they started working again.
//Continue:
I tried to comply, but the Regiment Staff was pretty damn busy doing nothing, so they didn't even listened to me.
The thing was getting worse. The Chaplain was still lost, and the Regiment fell into lazyness. But one night...something amazing happened.
It was a mild night, as the others at the planet, and nothing but the sentries' footsteps was heard. The Regimental Staff moved first. And started what will be known inside the Regiment as the 'Prank Wars'
//Continue:
#The Regimiental Staff placed some cardboard—made, Tyranid—shaped and drawn objectives in front of every single Window the Guard's Barracks had. The Sentries didn't even noticed. Then, the alarm was raised. The Guards, scared by the bugs and the alarm, quickly grabbed their flashlights and ran towards the 'Nids. Some fools charged to a 'Carnifex' placed in front of their Barrack's door. When the Guards realised they were made of cardboard, they were pissed off so much, that even the Angry Marines would be proud. This way, a cruel war begun.
So, /tg/, I'm writting something up where magic is used by a selective number of people who usually play the role of general problem solver/adviser/life quality improver in communities like cities or towns. The problem I have is that I want magic itmes to be relativelly common but I don't want magic to be used by common people as a tool, I want it to remain as semiunderstood topic but I'm having problems when it comes down to justify it in a coherent way.
Any ideas? How would you make it work?
How do those with magic get it? Are they born with it, or is it something that can be taught? Regardless, making sure that only a handful of people can actually use magic would help I think.
>>52689499
The creation of magic itself is a lost art, so these days you've got a class of learned individuals who know how to use it, but not replicate it.
>>52689499
magic sticks better to objects than people but are hoarded by the elite

Now that is not fair, lots of them are good people but its a cop show so you see mostly the bad ones. I want to be eitherva steinatler or a fuxbau, or however you spell the foxes.
Fuck. I was too late. Oh well, have this anyway.

It's pretty fun, yeah. Though basic zombies are only threatening in sufficient numbers, and pretty much never to Exalts.
Other examples of what Exalted necromancy can do are...
The Birth of Sanity’s Sorrow (BoSS) spell, which transforms you into a powerful monster-ghost form if someone strikes an incapacitating blow to you, requiring them to kill that too. You return to your original shape if you survive the fight.
You could pull out your own Hun soul (the animalistic, physical part of the two-part souls in Exalted), and bind it as hungry ghost to obey you.
Teleport through a mirror to any other mirror you want (getting either a specific one you know of, or the closest to the location you want to go), though it shatters both mirrors.
And they can summon the claw of a giant undead creature, making it burst out of the ground, to use as a throne. Gives magical bonusses too, enhancing intimidation, persuasion, and perception of true motives or lies.
Got a lot of directly harmful spells too, like Flesh-Sloughing Wave. Which pulls double duty in washing away the flesh of living vict- enemies, and turning your own rotting zombies into mostly-clean skeletons.
And of course they can summon and bind ghosts or hekathonkires (ghost-behemoths).

>Maybe - though there're Earth Aspected houses that didn't spring from Mnemon's loins, and you could always be a random Earth in a house of Fire or whatever.
True. But Mnemon and her mother are some of those with the purest breeding, so I thought it to be likely that I'm atleast close to them with Legendary and matching aspects
Not necessarily a Mnemon though...
>Besides, Dynastic family trees are pretty tangled... given their long lives, I assume there's a point of separation where they just stop caring.
...Fair.

PLASTIC SISTERS ARE NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN
Who preps the bull in 40k?
I bet Slaaneshi cultists have something similar to japanese Idols. Untouchable innocents, completely uncorrupted, that are paraded around to look upon, then utterly corrupted in some kind of grand ceremony.
What system would you use?
Modern, fantasy, or sci fi?
Realistic or not?

So I've never played any tabletop games, but I liked Warhammer: End Times- Vermintide and the new Total War warhammer, what should I know before I go into it? My local game shop hosts a beginners dungeons and dragons game every thursday and I dont want to look like an idiot when I show up and am clueless. How to walk into there without social anxiety?
Uhhh...
A few things first, Vermintide and Total War Warhammer aren't related to the tabletop (Not even fluff wise), neither is dungeons and dragons, neither is social anxiety.
So, I'd say chill out dude, just go there, be curious and ask questions, people will love to answer and give their own insights.
Regarding the tabletop part, you have to be wary of 3 things : you will spend most of your time creating your army instead of playing it; the view of Warhammer you have coming from Vermintide and Total War Warhammer isn't the current lore in your gameshop (Unless it's not a Games Workshop); it's gonna cost a lot of money.
>>52686392
Wait so you like Warhammer, which is based on a wargame, so the logical conclusion is to go to a pen and paper rollplaying game that has nothing to do with warhammer?
What?
>>52686392
>what should I know before I go into it?
That the world of Warhammer Fantasy exploded and pretty much everyone died. It was then replaced with the Age of Sigmar which has an entirely different lore, aesthetic, and play style.
Does a good Souls/Bloodborne system exist?
>>52686306
Savage Worlds: Rippers for Bloodborne.
>>52686306
"Can you do [game] in tabletop?" is almost a trick question.
Depends 100% on what you think makes Souls/Bloodborne unique, or what sort of representation you want of the setting(s), or if you want a system to attempt to replicate gameplay mechanics.
A good souls tabletop could just be a high lethal, grimdark fantasy setting. Most of what makes Souls unique in is the narrative.
New Death stuff. It's not much, but it's something, edition
