I'm new to DnD and I just finished my character. He is a lawful good paladin who has oath vengeance but I dont know if my flaw is a flaw. My flaw is to redeem those who have gone astray from the light and turned to a life of crime and evil. However this means my character will not kill unless it is extremely necessary. He can fight but never lets anyone kill the enemy if he believes he can redeem them.

Morning /tg/!
I'm excited for DnD today because I get to play a new character. Last last one was wonderful, I loved getting to play him, but he ascended, and is an NPC now, so I rerolled.
Whereas my last character was a beacon of friendship, caring, and respect, and the part face (For pretty much those reasons) this new character is most definitely not. I finally get to play a cold mercenary with a heart of gold, and by that I mean, the only thing he has room for in his hear is gold.
It's been almost three months that I've been thinking of this character, Saturdays me and the other DM go two weeks on, two weeks off, but it has been a hectic few months, so this is the third time we've gamed in that span.
The point is, I am in a good mood. Tell me why you're excited for game today, Anon!
And if I can get a few positive posts, I'll dump the old and glorious DnD comic!

So I recently just lost most of my guard army.
Left it in the shop with a pile of some other peoples stuff and went for dinner with them. Came back and most of my men were gone. My tanks and knight were safe but all their bits, turrets and magnetised sponsors were also in the case and it was emptied out. Shop doesn't have CCTV in that room either.
I'm a fool for assuming best faith and its not the money that hurts but the time that went into building and painting that army.
How do you guys keep safe your minis? Lock them in a box and wire them to a table? Or just don't let them leave your side?

Yesterday my group and I played Star Wars D20 (our first try with a D20 system) and it took an hour and a half to make the bloody characters. Afterwards, we ended just ignoring habilities and feats because only the DM (I) had read the whole rulebook anyway. We still had fun, but the rules sucked.
So... could you recommend some SIMPLE and EASY rules, where rolling a new character takes just a few minutes? We usually play Basic Dungens and Dragons, if that helps.

Dungeon World is a decent "babies first ttrpg". But its very limited and requires a bit of skill on the part of the GM. Also recommend D&D 5E since its simple enough but has many more options than something like Dungeon World.
