I just got my license and I am now looking for a cheap car that has necessities (A/C, GPS, etc.) but doesn't cost over $5k. Any thoughts? What should I be looking for in a used car?

Where do you live?
Any no-go makes/brands?
Also just use your phone for GPS, especially under 5k since GPS is usually considered an extra addon or "luxury".
My suggestions:
>Golf III / IV / V
A Golf III can be repaired really easily without special tools, some come with a sunroof and AC.
>E46 BMW
Dont try to kill yourself with it. Also quite expensive to run and not as easy to work on.

Don't get any German shit op...

I want a new bimmer. The new 5 series, or the 4 gran coupe?

The 5 is newer and more comfortable, the 4 has a more practical boot (I got two kids) and looks better imo. It's also cheaper.

Wat do?

Was Ford too unambitious with the 6th gen Mustang? The interior is an improvement, but otherwise it seems like they just gave it IRS and said "good enough." I think it's just too damn fat.

It's not that they're not ambitious. Usually doing that would be enough for a generation of mustang comparatively to 5th gen camaro and charger/challenger. The camaro in the sixth gen just pull it shot together so it makes the mustang look unimpressive.

I bought a used truck 6 months ago, and didn't realize it was out of alignment so I've been creating some considerable edge wear on my Toyo MT2 all terrain tires 295/55/r20.

The back 2 are fine, the front 2 are getting sketchy. But these are $300 each tires (new). I found a good deal on some Falken (under rated brand) 275/60/r20's for $159 each. But I don't want to have to buy 4 tires when the back 2 are fine.

What should I do?

Option 1) Buy 4 Falkens and keep my old tires as backups but we all know they're just gonna collect dust.

Option 2) Buy 2 Falkens but have a mismatch in size between front and back,

Option 3) ???

>>
>big ass expensive bro truck wheel/tire setup
>cant afford the tread wear

might as well go back to the stockers faggot

>different sized tires
>4x4 truck

not an option
>>
Option 3 could be to only consider tires that match my current size for the front 2.

Option 4 could be buy 4 Falkens and sell my current good back 2 tires for half off on Craigslist.
>>
>>17739562
Different size is definitely an option, just keep bigger ones in the back. I guess rotating would be hard though.

Any help would be appreciated. I posted a few days ago about the timing belt in my 98 Accord LX. When I took the head off, I discovered that one of the valves were stuck open. Attached is a picture of the open intake valve (on cylinder 1.)

I suspended the camshaft sprocket with a pipe and some wire (with the timing belt still on it), then pulled the head out of the engine. the sprocket was turned 210 degrees CCW from TDC when I removed it.

Looking at the camshaft, the thing that baffles me is the lobes. I thought that in Hondas, for each pair of intake side valves, the two outer lobes spin in sync for regular operation, then if you rev up to a higher RPM, they lock in with the big lobe in the middle to allow bigger clearance and better performance. Why then, if going along the cam, is the first small lobe, then the large lobe, spinning together, and the other small lobe isn't? In this picture the first lobe is clearly pushing up on the rocker arm, pushing down the valve in question, but the other arm is untouched? The small lobe large lobe being lined up while the third one is not seems to be consistent across the entire camshaft. Did I misunderstand something about how camshafts work or is there something terribly wrong with my engine?

Here's a picture from the side showing that the valve in question is getting pushed down by the rocker arm, but the other lobe is free. Any and all help/advice would be appreciated. What was originally just a quick head gasket swap has instead become a headache to me because I don't know what this means.. Either I took the head off at a weird time where this sort of thing is normal? or this is a simple fix I could maybe do myself by popping out all the valves and cleaning them/lapping the valves into their seats? Or perhaps my engine is warped and only a machine shop can fix something of this magnitude... Any input would be a great help.

Additionally, peeping into the intake holes, the stems themselves have some carbon on them which probably needs to be cleaned..

Manual 100hp FWD fag here

What does it feel like to drift an 800hp automatic RWD?

Just thinking about it gives me anxiety and an urge of wanting to drive such a car while this song plays.

Is it only in my head that it's fun, or is it really as awesome as I think it is?

>What does it feel like to drift an 800hp automatic RWD?
lazy
barely even breaking a sweat
too easy
unrewarding

and no that's not me
its just that the car would make it so
I would need no finesse nor have the need to use even a fraction of the power available

so I bought a beater car and it's starting to have problems.

It's not SkyActiv-X or the rotary hybrid thing either. Twin parallel (not sequential) turbos + electric supercharger for power while it spools. It's a RWD design so maybe they're making a larger sports car? Seems too complex for a Miata.
